Hey,

It’s Sunday, the BIG TWIN WEST SHOW concluded in Phoenix with the Advanstar International Motorcycle Show and reports were positive. The Advanstar Show moves on and will soon open their tents in Long Beach.

Ray Wheeler called this morning at 8:00 on the dot and woke us up. “Hey, did you receive your W8Less Rotors?” He said. “They were shipped for Saturday delivery.”

“No goddamnit,” I replied. “I just woke up.” I turned to the rest of the girls in bed. “Did any packages arrive yesterday?”

“No goddamnit,” They said in unison. “We just woke up. Leave us alone.” We better get to the news before I’m in any more trouble. Watch for the W8Less rotors at your dealers. They’re incredible.

PSI POWER INTRODUCES NEW 3-D BIG AIR CARBURETORS– October, 2007 – Ogden, UTAH – With the help of R&R Cycles, PSI has developed a carburetor with modern technology that can and will make your bike run as well as it looks. The 3-D carbs are 100% American made and PSI guarantees you’ll see HP gains of 6-15 HP in most cases. With its clean look and a three-year warranty, the 3-D carbs have a much larger billet float bowl design with more fuel capacity, significant cylinder clearance, an optional dual cable pull and three flat-slide designs, making them the ultimate setup for any engine size.

With a very unique shape and a ribbed interior that truly intensifies flow characteristics, PSI’s 3-D carb offers much more torque and better acceleration than standard V-Twin carbs. Vortex Generators take total control of the air and align it for maximum port velocity, allowing big HP gains. A shorter throttle pull, a new easier-to-use external needle adjuster, very tight slide clearance, highly developed slide and needle combinations allow for incredible throttle response, serious midrange snort, and a smoking top end all come standard on a 3-D Big Air carb.

Carb adjustments are made easy by turning external clicker adjustments with the simple and easy concept of “righty-tighty and lefty-loosey.” Turn clockwise for less fuel and counter clockwise for more fuel – while the bike is running. No jets to change, all adjustments are made externally in seconds without fuel on your fingers or tools in your hands.

The flatslide design with V-shaped technology offers incredible volumetric efficiency. Highly mystified fuel vaporization keeps fuel in suspension throughout the intake process for incredible throttle response and awesome acceleration. Easy and direct replacement for all S&S bolt-on Super G, D, & E carbs, it is a direct bolt-on to a Super G or D. With your choice of chrome plating, clear anodized billet or bright black anodized billet, you can find the right look for your ride.

Price: $995-1095.00, Chrome plating (Add $100 extra) Available directly by calling 801.393.1030 or visit Big Air Carbs online at www.PSIcarbs.com.

WOMAN’S LOVE POEM–
Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who’s not a creep.
One who’s handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long.
One who thinks before he speaks.
One who’ll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he’s gainfully employed.
When I spend his cash, won’t be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door.
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who’ll make love to my mind.
Knows what to answer to “how big is my behind?”
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.

MAN’S LOVE POEM
I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with
huge boobs who owns a bar on a golf course,
and loves to send me fishing and hunting.
This doesn’t rhyme and I don’t give a shit.

AMERICAN ROAD SHOP GIVES AWAY NEW H-D SPORTSTER AND CONTRIBUTES TO THE CHILDREN’S LEUKEMIA FOUNDATION– Highland, MICH. – October 15, 2007 – American Road Shop Bike Night’s recurring theme is “Lifestyle is a choice.” The choice was clear for many bikers to head to 59 West in Highland, Michigan, on Tuesday nights from May to September and take part in weekly bike contests, raffles and the chance to win a brand new Harley-Davidson Sportster from ABC Harley Davidson. They also held a 50/50 drawing for the third year in a row with 50% of the proceeds going to the winner and 50% to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF), which was over $2000 this year.

Thanks to ABC Harley Davidson’s involvement; this marked the third year that American Road Shop gave away a FREE Sportster. Tickets to enter the drawing were free, one per person each Tuesday. A rotating bike contest was held each week, with awards given for the most chrome, the longest bike, the oldest bike driven up and the best amateur custom. Each winner received a $25 gift certificate from American Road Shop and a $25 certificate from 59 West. Also, every Tuesday throughout the summer, names were drawn for door prizes, Bike Night Tee Shirts, vendor giveaways and more. With 100-150 bikes on an average night to 350 bikes and about 500 people on the final night, the third year of American Road Shop’s Bike Night, co-sponsored by ABC Harley-Davidson and Coors Light, was extremely successful.

59 West is Oakland County’s best kept secret, with a bistro & billiards bar, fine dining restaurant, 7,000 sq. ft. fitness facility and two huge banquet halls. This is the third year they hosted the American Road Shop Bike Night, and also the third year that all the raffle proceeds went to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF).

American Road Shop co-owner Tim Beaubien said, “The last bike night of the year is always a big night for us, we give the bike away and we tally the final count for CLF. This year was particularly gratifying, not only did we have the best year donation for CLF but both Barb and myself had people coming up to us and thanking us for hosting this bike night. That made all the work worth it.”

If you are in the Waterford, MI area, stop and visit their 3400 sq ft store at 7554 Highland Road, Waterford, MI 48327, located on Highland Rd. (M-59) just east of Williams Lake Rd. or you can visit them online at www.americanroadshop.com

DON’T MISS THE AMAZING BIKER–A traveling salesman visits a small town in the Midwest and sees a Circus banner reading: “Don’t Miss The Amazing biker.”

Curious, he buys a ticket.

The tent goes dark. Suddenly, trumpets blare and all eyes turn to the center ring. There, spot lit in the center ring is a table with three walnuts on it. Standing next to the table is an old grizzled biker. Suddenly the old man unzips his pants, whips out a huge member and smashes all three walnuts with three mighty swings!

The crowd erupts in applause as the elderly biker is carried off on the shoulders of the crowd.

Ten years later the salesman visits the same little town and he sees a faded sign for the same circus and the same: “Don’t Miss the Amazing biker.

He can’t believe the old guy is still alive much less still doing his act!

So he buys a ticket! Again, the center ring is illuminated. This time, instead of walnuts, three coconuts are placed on the table. The biker stands before them, then suddenly unzips his fly and smashes the coconuts with three swings of his amazing member. The crowd once again goes wild!

Flabbergasted, the salesman requests a meeting with old biker after the show. You’re incredible,” he tells the biker. “But I have to know something. I know you’re older now, but why switch from walnuts to coconuts?”

“Well, says the biker: “My eyes ain’t what they used to be!”

bed roll

BANDIT BED ROLL HAS IT ALL– I thought about the Old West and the bedrolls the cowboys used to carry their shit, and it came to me. Something over the headlight, as long as it wasn’t too heavy, could do the trick. The bike would maintain its nasty profile, I could still pack someone on the back, and carry my shit.

As I wound through the canyon, my mind went to work on the bedroll concept. Could it carry all I wanted to pack? Another question smacked me as I rounded another corner and caught a glimpse of the Pacific lapping the Malibu shores in the distance. What about a tool bag?

Bandit’s Bed Roll is the perfect combo of tool bag and weekender engineered by the man that delivers form and function and keeps your ride looking clean. So pull out your wallet and click here to get your official Bandit Bed Roll Today.

HAVE YOU SEEN HBO’S BAND OF BROTHERS SERIES, INCREDIBLE– Berry Wardlaw, the boss of Accurate Engineering gave me the series and I watch segment one and two last night, then dropped him a note regarding my old man and WWII. Here’s his response:

My father was also at Guadalcanal and my step father was in the Battle of the Bulge and other conflicts in France and Belgium and I would love to tell you some of his stories. Incredible “TRUE, REAL” heroism by boy’s forced to become men. I have a wonderful collection of memorabilia returned by the people that earned it, my family.

I wish I could properly display and share it for those that really “Get it”. My step father was in some of the conflicts portrayed in the “Brothers” program and really brought it home for me. It is a true story with real men and the actual interviews prove just that.

I NEVER watch movies twice as I start to see the screw ups and it ruins it for me. I have watched the Brothers three times and will again. Believe me this compilation only gets better and just wait till you see what happens when Germany falls and the interview about that scene. Talk about tears of PRIDE! Struggle.

It’s the struggle that makes the cream rise to the top as my lovely Grandmother would have said. Adversity always seems to bring out the best in people that would normally have nothing to do with one another. To bad we don’t live our lives like that on a daily basis. Think of the possibilities.

During or after you finish the Brothers DVD’s, read all of Tom Brokaw’s books. It is now a trilogy of true stories of regular people and is titled to what I believe is very true, they were “The Greatest Generation.” This will certainly give you more insight to turn your novel about Chance Hogan, into a read that will invoke those feelings you are looking for. I am damned proud to be the offspring of the men and women of that period, now let’s do them proud for what they fought for. Write that book.

Damn the torpedo’s, Struggle On!,

P.S. If you ever get this way I will take you to the D-Day museum. It is located at the old factory site where they built the Higgins boat for D-Day in New Orleans. WW 2 veterans run the place and the conversations are even better than the museum. Damn, I’m getting’ Red, White, and Blue in places I didn’t even know I had!

BIKERNET/HOT BIKE SPS IRAQI BIKE BUILD–Saw the bike that Johnny did for his brother. Wow is all I have to say. Now I pose a question for you. I have only been into bikes for a few years now since 04-05. My first experience with a chopper was a friend of mine from the SFV. He had a ’79 Shovel rigid frame 4-speed, etc. That bike absolutely amazed me. Got to ride it once and the feeling was incredible nothing beats a rigid.

I have been trying to get a build off the ground myself and every time I think I’m getting close I get shot down. I was wondering if you with your vast amount of resources could help me out. Let me give you a little bit of history about myself.

I joined the Army right out of High school. I served proudly as an Infantryman for 8.5 years. I have been to the desert 3 times. In that time I have seen my share of blood shed on both sides. The last time i was there I lost a very near and dear friend. 1lt Nainoa Hoe was one of the greatest men I ever had the pleasure of working with. He often flirted the line of leader and friend to all of his soldiers. You can google his name and read all about him.

I got out of the Army in nov of ’06, currently I work as a Correctional Officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I am married to a great woman have 2 beautiful children and love bikes. I really want to build this bike in tribute to Nainoa, he wasn’t into bikes but love to hear me ramble about how one day I would build my own and ride it to his house to prove to him that I did it. Thank you for hearing me ramble, and please consider this it would help bring a close to a vast void I have.

CHEETAH’S NEW VIZALERT DISPLAY SYSTEM MAKES THE TOP US RADAR DETECTORS AND LASER JAMMER WORK WIRELESSLY ON A BIKE– PHOENIX, October 26, 2007 — Using radar detectors or laser countermeasures effectively on a motorcycle is now possible for the first time, thanks to a revolutionary new kind of motorcycle display system called the Cheetah Vizalert.

The Vizalert is a small, stylish wireless receiver that attaches to your helmet, like a bluetooth module or helmet camera, and it has a little 6-color LED display that you position inside your visor. A separate transmitter box plugs into your radar detector or laser system and whenever your detector picks up a speed trap ahead, the Vizalert will flash in your peripheral vision to make sure you don’t miss any alerts.

The battery powered display uses different colors to show the different types of radar or laser being detected. The flash rate increases as you get closer to the trap and the signal gets stronger. The Vizalert display is waterproof, motion sensitive and it even has a daylight sensor built in, so it automatically dims the brightness of the display at night.

Don Norton, Director of Cheetah USA LLC said, “Getting speed trap alerts that you can actually use has always been difficult on a motorcycle…until now. We’re delighted to release the Vizalert because it is the only motorcycle heads up display in the world that works with both radar detectors and laser jammers and it’s the only system which can convey both the alert type and the signal strength. This kind of knowledge lets you use radar detectors and laser jammers much more effectively on your motorcycle.”

The Vizalert can be used with all style of helmets: full-face, flip-face or open-face/cruiser helmets. An optional boom arm is included for use with open face / cruiser style helmets. The Cheetah Vizalert is available for $199.99 from good online resellers and at www.speedcheetah.com

ASK MR. D&D – THE PERFORMANCE PIPE EXPERT– Question: Why do mufflers blue?

Answer: Chrome turns blue due to oxidation at high temperature. If you look behind our heat shields you Will find bluing on all of our headpipes due to exhaust gas temperatures above 1000 degrees F. The heat-shields provide an air-gap to reduce conductive heat transfer, plus chrome plating to reduce radiant heat transfer. Also the billet clamp mounts and the heavy gage of the heat-shields themselves help prevent hot spots. Our baffle designs incorporate a variety of protective chambers, sealed exhaust pathways and heavy gage materials to protect the finish.

Bluing of heat shields and muffler housings is caused by excessive heat generated from improper fuel mixture, ignition timing, or a combination of the two. Rich fuel mixtures burn inside the pipe and lean mixtures raise the exhaust gas temperature .

This inquiry was sent in from Brian Cook of Speedway, IN. Mr. D&D is taking all questions. Send your performance exhaust question to Mr. D&D at

BIKETOBERFEST WRAP – ONE DEATH ALL WEEK– DAYTONA BEACH – This year’s was a kinder, gentler Bike Week. Although there was plenty of the usual rowdiness, fewer people died during the 10-day rally that ended Sunday. And fewer of the pricey bikes that give the tourist mega-event its name were stolen. Daytona Beach police Chief Michael Chitwood said he made sure the word got out nationwide beforehand that he wasn’t giving any warnings for “idiot biking.” And the estimated 300,000 to 400,000 motorcyclists who descended on this beachside town took heed. “Publicity is a wonderful, wonderful enforcement tool,” Chitwood said Sunday.

Along with more aggressively enforcing road rules, the Florida Highway Patrol sent an additional two dozen troopers. The county rolled out a public-education campaign urging automobile drivers to look out for their two-wheeled counterparts.

Metal signs and billboards with the message “Look Twice, Save A Life” peppered Daytona Beach. Last year, several bikers died after slamming into automobiles that pulled out in front of them or made a left turn too closely, said FHP spokeswoman Trooper Kim Miller.

“We had to have a quick message that grabs somebody’s attention,” she said.

Bikers credited the new campaign but added there were other things that helped keep people safe — things beyond anyone’s control.

For one, the weather was chillier early last week, forcing a lot of fans of leather and chrome to stay inside, said biker advocate “Crazy” Eddie Colosimo.

Chitwood said his police force focused on cracking down on bike thieves. Nightly between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., detectives in plain clothes patrolled parking lots.

Fifteen motorcycles were stolen this year in Daytona Beach compared with 54 last year, Chitwood said. It’s a successful initiative he said police launched last fall.

About 175 to 200 bikes gathered early Sunday for a new parade in Holly Hill. Organizers hope to revive the annual Bike Week parade — where bikers get to say their goodbyes — that had been held in Daytona Beach for years but then disappeared.

Sunday morning, riders trickled down Ridgewood Avenue on bikes of all shapes, sizes and colors. They brought children along for the ride. They brought pets as well.

While bikers seemed in good spirits, some of those who gathered on the roadside to watch were clearly disappointed. After all, this parade was much smaller than the old one, which drew hundreds.

Sam “Biker Sam” Abrahamsen said the parade has almost doubled in size since its first year last year. “It is smaller, but it’s going to grow,” said Abrahamsen, whose Daytona Harley-Davidson drill team led the parade.

HARLEY THIRD QUARTER PROFITS DOWN– MILWAUKEE (AP) – A continued sluggish U.S. market for motorcycles pushed Harley-Davidson Inc.’s third-quarter profit down 15.3 percent, and the motorcycle maker said it expects next year to be difficult, too.

Domestic buyers are seeing oil prices rising and the home market crumbling, so they’re being cautious about spending, even when it comes to the iconic brand’s bikes, Chief Executive Jim Ziemer said in an interview.

“It’s all of those, with the consumer on the sidelines saying ‘We’re going to wait and see what’s going on,”‘ he said.

Domestically, sales were down 2.5 percent in the three months ended Sept. 30, while the overall U.S. heavyweight market fell 4.4 percent. Overseas, Harley’s sales were up 8.8 percent. Worldwide retail sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles were flat in the quarter, down 0.2 percent. Revenue dropped 5.8 percent to $1.54 billion from $1.64 billion last year.
