READERES SHOWCASE PAN–I’m a member of your site and I think it’s the best on the internet!!! I have a decent lookin Pan and would like to know if you’d like to show a picture of it on your site.
Here’s a few pictures of ‘er? “cherry girl.” She’s also on a few smaller sites and I’m having a write up done in Long Riders Mag an east coast publication.
I hope ya like ‘er…..regards..Dave
No problem. We have an area where any builder can post shots of his or her bike. You create your own feature in Bikernet’s Readers Showcase. Then JoAnn Crazyhorse, the famous painter will edit and post your bike.
One word of recommendation. Generally, if a magazine is going to spend valuable pages on a bike, they don’t want to see it pop up in other mags or on web sites, at least until the feature is published. It’s common courtesy. At least check with your magazine contact.–Bandit

$1M FROM THE HARLEY-DAVIDSON FOUNDATION TO DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS WILL PROVIDE BENEFITS COUNSELING TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY– CINCINNATTI, OH (November 8, 2006)-The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is pleased to announce that a $1 million grant from the Harley-Davidson Foundation will be used to provide free services to thousands of veterans in communities across the country. The DAV Mobile Service Office program provides in-community benefits counseling and education to veterans and their families on benefits available from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a result of their service to our country.
The mission of the DAV Mobile Service Office program is to provide convenient access to benefits counseling for veterans and their families. For some veterans traveling to a VA benefits office could mean hours of driving, so the DAV comes to them.
“Last year the DAV’s fleet of Mobile Service Offices traveled to more than 600 communities and provided services to thousands of veterans and their families,” said Arthur H. Wilson, National Adjutant and Chief Executive Officer. “As a result of the Harley-Davidson Foundation’s generosity, the DAV MSO program can continue to travel the country and provide assistance to veterans and their families where they live.”
These “offices on wheels” are staffed by highly trained professional counselors who are skilled experts in developing and prosecuting veterans’ claims. These DAV National Service Offices (NSO’s) talk with veterans about their government benefits, including compensation for disabilities related to their military service they may be eligible for, even years after their active duty ended. They help veterans determine if they have a claim, and then assist in the thorough preparation of claims and written briefs, which includes helping to assemble evidence in support of those claims.
“Veterans are important members of the Harley-Davidson family and the DAV Mobile Service Office program will provide even more access to the benefits they are entitled to receive,” said Gail Lione, President of the Harley-Davidson Foundation. “We are honored to show support and appreciation to the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom.” To learn more about the DAV Mobile Service Office or to show your support of this program please go to www.SupportDAV.org.
For information on Harley-Davidson’s support of Veterans please contact Tony Shields, Harley-Davidson Manager, Community Relations at tony.shields@harley-davidson.com.

FROM BOBBERS TO CHOPPERS KIWI LEAF SPRING FORKS FIT THE BILL– Kiwi Motorcycles was founded in 1988 and has been designing and manufacturing high quality products for all bikes ever since.
Riverside, CA-Mike Tomas knows bikes he especially is fond of Indian Motocycles. As an avid motorcyclist Mike has been working with and on Indians since 1976. It was his genuine interest and true passion that drove him to open Kiwi MotorCycles and Kiwi Indian Motocycles in 1988. Since then Mike and his team continue today building fine motorcycle parts like the new Kiwi Leaf Spring Fork for all bikes and for all types of builders.
“After spending so many years of tearing down bikes and rebuilding them I realized the need for a leaf spring fork that not only fits when a builder is trying to make an Old School statement, but also functions and functions well” said Mike Tomas, founder of Kiwi Indian Motocycles and Kiwi Motorcycles. OFFICERS LEARN MORE ABOUT MOTORCYCLE GANGS– State law enforcement leaders call them “the modern mafia.” Thursday, at the law enforcement convention in Sioux Falls, officers from throughout South Dakota learned more about outlaw motorcycle gangs.
There are three known chapters of the Bandidos gang in South Dakota, two in Rapid City and one in Sioux Falls. There are also two chapters of the Hermanos – a support group to the Bandidos. One is in Brookings and one in Rapid City.
The Sturgis Motorcycle rally is when outlaw gangs are in the spotlight, but they are actually here year-round. A gunfight during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally sent the motorcycle gang “The Outlaws” home without three of its members. Police arrested two members of the Hells Angels gang for allegedly shooting them and two women. But officers say those gangs are involved with many types of illegal activity.
“You’ll see members involved in violent crimes – the shootings this summer. See a lot of the members involved in the drug trade. See a lot of the members involved with prostitution. Anything they can do to further the club,” says Trevor Jones, assistant director of the state Division of Criminal Investigation.

BUELL CELEBRATES PRODUCTION OF 100,000 MOTORCYCLES– EAST TROY, Wis. (Nov. 17, 2006) – Buell Motorcycle Company today celebrates production of its 100,000th motorcycle, a 2007 Ulysses XB12X model, at its factory in East Troy, Wis.
Buell Motorcycle Company, founded by Erik Buell in 1983, is the only American manufacturer of sport bikes. Starting with Erik’s dream of building his own racing motorcycles, Buell has evolved into a leading manufacturer of performance street motorcycles, with a majority of its sales in international markets.
While seven Buell XB models in three distinct families and the Buell Blast are offered in 2007, Erik Buell began it all with the production of the RW750 model in 1983. That 750cc, two-stroke machine was a pure race bike designed specifically to compete in the AMA’s then-premiere Formula One roadracing class. After the AMA dropped the class in favor of Superbikes, Buell incorporated his innovations into the RR1000, the first model in a line of performance street motorcycles. Erik Buell was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2002.
“We take great pride in knowing we’ve provided 100,000 bikes worth of fun and unique experiences for our owners and loyal enthusiasts,” said Erik Buell, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer. “Reaching the 100,000-motorcycle milestone as the only American sport bike manufacturer is a real tribute to the riders and employees who have passionately supported Buell motorcycles over the years.”
Buell plans to celebrate the 100,000-motorcycle milestone with its employees and other guests at its facilities in East Troy, Wis. A special ceremony will mark the production of the 100,000th Buell motorcycle as it rolls off the assembly line.

IT’S WINE AND CHEESE TIME–I’m trying to lose some weight, so gave up Margaritas. It’s cool. A lovely lady bought me a bottle of Jack last night, so I’m covered.
Next week will fly towards Thanksgiving. How the hell can anyone lose weight during this season. I’m trying to work out five days a week. We’ll see if it helps. You know the old outlaw adage, “Time will tell, and shit will smell.” Does that apply?
Okay, a GOB will be launched next week, more on the new Buell, maybe Christmas fiction and a story on Guilty Customs. I’m working with Rick Krost on setting up a brokerage for one-off customs, to help builders get the word out about bikes for sale. I’ll keep you posted. Oh, one more thing. We’ll work on the Thursday Bikernet news on Wednesday because of the Holiday. Also because, none of the girls are going to help on Thursday. They’re cookin’.
Let’s Ride
