SUNDAY POST–WHAT GIVES?

It’s Sunday and I’m trying to dodge events, get some work done around the headquarters. We are constantly upgrading the security here, but I can’t work with this little blond blaring the stereo constantly. Maybe I’m getting old. Yesterday we cruised into the hills of Santa Paula and retrieved the mighty VL from the Mike Egan antique bike Treasure Trove. He’s a master at bike restoration and Dr. Hamster tagged along with pieces and parts of his blown up ’34 VL for a consultation with the master.

Here’s a shot of my VL which is headed for the auction block in the near future. It’s in nearly pristine condition completely restore for Lou Kimzey, the original publisher of Easyriders by Mike the master. If you truly want an engine restore on a bike, or you’re in the market for something too special to mention, and have the big candy to afford it, call (805) 933-1557.

Here’s a shot of a VL engine he’s working on and a 45 he recently restored. Let’s get to the news:

Deal of the Week

We know of a 1959 Panhead for sale $6,500. It’s complete and running. We’re looking into the particulars to see if it’s stock, custom or a little of each.

Where does an Irish family go on vacation?
A different bar.

The Horse Magazine

We may be working closer with HORSE to help them succeed in the near future. What do you think of the mag? Tell me how many bike mags you buy now and why.

Priest: Are you sorry for your sins??

Man: What sins??

Priest: What kind of a Catholic are you??

Man: I’m Jewish?

Le Pera Seats–

If you haven’t taken a look at the Le Pera Line of seats, check out their site. They have been the little known, but high quality seat maker since Le Pera was a crazed bikers. Check out their web site.

Slow Week

Actually, it’s been bananas and exciting. Bikernet opportunities have been flooding at us and we hope to make the right decisions. There’s one favor our readers could do for us to keep us strong. Work with our sponsors when you need bike parts and if you like this fuckin’ hole in the wall, mention it to possible sponsors. We’re a small crew, and we don’t like salesmen much so we don’t hustle our brothers in the industry enough. We need to pay the bills just the same.

There’s a bunch going on and we’ll report as we spin through one project after another. In the meantime, have a helluva week.–Bandit

Sorry people, it’s a short Sunday Post – blame Layla. She started making Margaritas early in the day and had Bandit playing strip Mancala. Both were losing and both have disapeared in to the bedroom.

I’m off to join them… See ya!
