Hey,

While the industry parties in Daytona, we’ll scramble with the news and bring you reports from the front. Joey Jelf from Custom Chrome is on his way to the Bikernet headquarters with Kraft Tech Sheet metal and a tank we can carve on for the Assalt Weapan.

It’s been a mellow week here while we receive reports from the East coast. We have daily Bike Week Updates from 2wheelers, S&S and Rogue. Let’s hit the news, then I’ll tell you what’s is store for Bikernet Readers next week:

saxon banner

SAXON APPROVED FOR EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTION–This just in. Saxon is about to become the only American Manufacturer aside from Harley-Davidson to be approved for distribution in Europe.

Bikernet is about to road test the new 2007 Warlord and the Sceptre Hot Rod is being published in the HORSE then on Bikernet. Hang on for those reports. Right now you can read about the Saxon Assembly line procedure on Bikernet. It’s interesting and opens the door to their quality efforts. In fact you might want to print out their inspection sheets for any bike build.

MR. D&D TAKING EXHAUST QUESTIONS WEEKLY–Mr. D&D is taking all questions. Send your performance exhaust question to Mr. D&D at

MRF WORKING DAILY TO SUPPORT STATE RIGHTS EFFORTS–The MRF lobbied in DC the past few weeks with the following State Motorcycle Rights Organizations: ABATE of NY, ABATE of MN, ABATE of WI, ABATE of MI, NMRO of New Mexico, ABATE of IL, ABATE of MD. I can write this up more formally if you prefer for next week and include it with the HIPAA update as many of us were there to lobby that introduced legislation.

Next week I’ll have an update on how many Congress critters signed on to sponsor the HIPAA legislation and more details about the process as well as a quick hit on NHTSA’s 2007 Agenda from a meeting I just attended.

By the way, thanks for all you do in the rights world, I know “if wishes were horses all beggars would ride.” But I sure wish more people of influence really understood what is at stake here

THE BIKERNET LIVING WILL TECH TIP–While I was watching football this weekend, my wife and I got into aconversation about life and death, and the need for living wills.

During the course of the conversation I told her that I never wanted toexist in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and taking fluidsfrom a bottle.

She got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all my beer.

STEALTH SHOP REPORT FROM CHARLOTTE–It is spring like here in Charlotte. The temps have been in the 60’s! The bikes are back on the road again!

Here at STEALTH BIKE WORKS we are starting another project bike. A rigid framed, springer front end, Evo based bike with high bars. We have the roller together and are waiting on the engine and tranny.

Bikes are starting to roll in for spring service. We had a kid come with a 1980 Sporty and told us could not get his chain to adjust. We walked out to take a look and the chain was full of tight spots which made it impossible to adjust. We told him he needed a new chain and he said a shop had told him the chain was supposed to have tight spots? Well that is a new one on me! We put a new chain on and got him on his way.

Man it seems I have a list a mile long of things I want to do but the time seems to be impossible to find. Next week with the time change I am going to make time to clean all of bikes and give them a good waxing. Then we have about 2 tons of leaves to get out of our yard at home. “THE MEANEST” is a slave driver at home! Speaking of “THE MEANEST,” she is in Milwaukee today as part of some new focus group H-D has! What do they focus on? I have not been told! Maybe that is a good thing?

Spring is real close to exploding and with that comes rides. Rides to the local bike nights. There are a couple of new ones this year. Like we needed another one? Oh well it something to do and it will feel good to ride to a couple of them and anyway they are always good for a couple of laughs. The poker runs start up this month. The 8th Annual Run For Breath “In Memory of Justin Pullin” is Sunday July 22nd. It starts right here at SBW and ends at Lone Star Steak House in Monroe. Hey, we need awards for the bike show. They are made out of old bike parts. Hey Mr. Bandit, Do you think you can knock out the best of Show award again this year? If anyone is interested in making awarda, you can give me a call at STEALTH BIKE WORKS 704-882-0889.

Well that wraps it up for this week!
Until next week, RIDE!

THE PASSING OF MACK MCNALLY–Mack McNally, former Research & Development manager of Zipper?s Performance Products, passed away on March 1st 2007 due to pancreatic cancer. He was 58 years old. Mack’s career in the motorcycle industry was multi-faceted. In the ’90s he owned and operated a successful pro-stock team competing in national events throughout the country.

Mack McNally’s love of competition fueled his desire for product development. In the Mid 90s he joined his racing friends at Zipper?s Performance to help develop an aftermarket fuel injection system. This system is now known as the successful ThunderMax. Mack played a key role in development with the team at Thunder-Heart Performance, where he has worked since retiring from Zipper?s Performance Products in 2005.

DUTCH JUDGES REFUSE TO BAN HELLS ANGELES– THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) –A chapter of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang in the Netherlands is not a criminal organization, Dutch judges ruled Tuesday, rejecting prosecutors’ attempts to have the group outlawed.

The decision is a major setback for efforts by the public prosecutor’s office to have Hells Angels clubs banned nationwide amid allegations they are heavily involved in organized crime. The Harlingen Hell’s Angels chapter was the first prosecutors tried to have outlawed.

“Based on the fact that weapons and soft drugs were found at the club house in Harlingen, it is apparent that the Harlingen chapter is involved in crime,” judges in the northern city of Leeuwarden wrote in their judgment. “But the group has not been prosecuted for those offenses and prosecutors have not indicated they are planning a case.”

The judges said there was insufficient evidence to suggest that the biker gang “threatens public order to the extent it should be banned.”

“This is the right result,” said Harlingen Hells Angel member Dirk van der Zee. “It is not the case that we are all criminals. Prosecutors are trying to tar us all with the same brush.”

The Harlingen chapter’s club house was raided in 2005 as part of a large scale investigation into allegations of extortion, intimidation, weapons and drugs trafficking.

That investigation followed the murder of three members of the gang in 2004, allegedly by fellow bikers.

A spokeswoman said prosecutors would appeal the ruling.

BIKERNET MOVES THURSDAY NEWS TO THE CANTINA–Put the Thursday news in the Cantina and make ’em pay! Hell yes you deserve it. This old broke dick Panhead rider found Bikernet just two months ago and I paid the $10 in a heartbeat. What does $10 buy anyway? If they can’t see that the material you are posting is worth much more; they are on the wrong website.

Could it possibly be the “well to do ” folks who will snivel about having to pay? I have a tech tip that may help them. See attached photo taken Jan. 3rd, 2007 in Nebraska. Nice day, no snow, around 38 degrees. So I ride.

Note the $2 bandana around my neck. Not a fashion statement, this actually goes over face to cut the wind–OH SHIT, WAIT I could have spent at least $20 or more for a FASHIONABLE face mask with a skull on it! Back to reality, remembering my motto is FUNCTION BEFORE FASHION.

Sooo if you apply my low budget philosophy, take the money you save, buy a six-pack, sit down and subscribe to the cantina! Enjoy.

Down the road,

–Shortcut

Last Sunday we announced, in the Sunday News, that we were researching moving the Thursday News to the Cantina. Cantina membership is now a measly $14.95 a year for Bikernet Premium content. That works out to be .28 cents a week, if only for the news. Hard to take.

With this support we can bring you additional info, statistics, profiles and the story back stage from major events. Damnit, we appreciate your support and we’ll pay you back with the best content and news on the planet –Bandit
