Machine Head To Play At The Sturgis Buffalo Chip Summer Music Festival

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip® announces hardcore heavy metal rockers Machine Head, to join a night of Hard Rock at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip on Wednesday, August 7, leaving only one band to be announced next week to complete this fantastic night at the Chip. Machine Head will take the Buffalo Chip’s stage following Mastodon during the 2013 Sturgis motorcycle rally. Visit www.BuffaloChip.Com for summer music festival information and campground admission passes.

Machine Head has been putting the heavy in heavy metal for decades. Known for ballad type songs lasting more than five minutes and at times playing songs so fast they have to improve their skills to keep up with their own expectations, Machine Head has become a staple in the heavy metal community. They continue to drive forward and impress fans and fellow musicians alike. Metal Hammer magazine boldly called Machine Head’s album “The Blackening” the “Album of the Decade”. Their latest powerhouse album, “Unto the Locust,” voted album of the year by Liquid Metal and Metal Hammer magazine, recently charted 22 on the Billboard charts and received a Grammy award nomination for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.

“Machine Head is nothing short of exhilarating,” said Rod Woodruff of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “Unparalleled in performance, originality and energy, Machine Head is clearly at the top of their game and will be perfect for hard rock lovers at the Chip.”

Expected to perform complex songs with emotional lyrics and insane solos from their latest albums, Machine Head, having opened for bands like Metallica and Black Sabbath, will bring an unprecedented hard edge to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s 2013 summer music festival.

The 32nd annual Sturgis Buffalo Chip® motorcycle and music festival takes place August 2-11, 2013 during the annual Sturgis motorcycle rally. The summer music festival lineup already includes Mastodon, Kid Rock, Toby Keith, ZZ Top, Halestorm, Brantley Gilbert, Queensrÿche and Sublime with Rome. More bands will be announced soon. All summer music festival and motorcycle rally information is available at www.buffalochip.com or (605) 347-9000.
