Hey, I’m in a funk, maybe, can’t decide. I have a cracked molar that’s driving me nuts and takes the wind outta my sails. Last night after the Doctor informed me of my malady (less than a year ago I spent a grand on this tooth). I felt a burst of energy and hammered together a number sign for the front gate.
I got so wound up in the brass number frame that I spaced on a radio interview. I’m sure they’ll kick my ass for that. I need to wrap up the Run For Breath Trophy this weekend and next week we’ll install the newest BDL guarded belt system on Roger’s Softail. Along with the latest Compu-Fire starter. You need to enter our door prize contest on a regular basis. We’re giving away good shit.
Let’s hit the news. Tomorrow I will see the Los Angeles City government about sorting out 78 years of building permits:
RICH KING THREE-PEATS AT SPRINGFIELD MILE–Factory Tuner Bill Werner Notches 150th Career Victory.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (May 31, 2004) – Screamin? Eagle Performance Parts rider Rich King executed a perfect last-lap pass of Bartels? Harley-Davidson rider Jay Springsteen to win his third consecutive AMA Grand National race at the Springfield Mile. The race, held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, was run on Monday due to poor weather conditions on Sunday.
In 2003, King rode his factory-sponsored Harley-Davidson XR750 to a pair of victories at this legendary dirt track, where average lap speeds exceed 100 mph. His victory this weekend was the first of the season for King and the 18th Grand National victory of his 20-year pro career. It also happened to come on his 41st birthday.
?It was great to win at Springfield again,? said King. ?I couldn?t have wished for a better birthday present, and I?m really happy for the team, especially Bill Werner.?
King?s dramatic win served as a milestone for senior technician Bill Werner, who notched his 150th career victory as a Harley-Davidson factory tuner and formally announced his retirement. Werner, a member of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, started working in the Harley-Davidson race shop in 1966 and leaves a legacy of 13 AMA Grand National Championships. King, along with former factory riders, Springsteen, Scott Parker and Jennifer Snyder escorted Werner on a lap of honor as part of the Springfield Mile opening ceremony.
?What a great weekend for Harley-Davidson racing,? said Screamin? Eagle Racing Manager Anne Paluso. ?Springfield is a special place, and we were able to celebrate Bill?s achievements with that lap of honor, but it was especially fitting that the best dirt track tuner the sport will ever see earned his 150th win later that day.?
In the 25-lap final, King battled Quality Checked Pre-Owned Ford/Lancaster Harley-Davidson rider Chris Carr, Coziahr Harley-Davidson/National Cycle rider Johnny Murphree and SuperTrapp/Moroney Cycle rider Mike Hacker as eight different riders each led a lap. King first took the lead on lap 10, and later led laps 17 through 21. Hacker led laps 22-23 but slipped out of the groove and dropped all the way back to 11th place, handing the lead to Springsteen with King in fourth place. King passed Carr and Murphree on the last lap, and then set up Springsteen for a drafting pass coming out of the last turn, just nipping the popular veteran at the line in a classic Springfield finish. Murphree and Carr followed in third and fourth places. All riders in the Springfield final were aboard Harley-Davidson XR750 motorcycles. Carr retained his lead in the 2004 Progressive Insurance Flat Track Championship season points chase.
In other action at Springfield, King qualified for the Springfield TT on Saturday, May 29 aboard his Screamin? Eagle Racing Harley-Davidson XR550, but retired after three laps of the tight and twisting course with a mechanical problem.
BIKERNET FARMING ADVISORY–A chicken farmer went into a local tavern and took a seat at the bar next to a woman patron and orders a glass of champagne.
The woman perks up and says “How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too!”
He turned to her and said, “What a coincidence.”Continuing, he said “This is a special day for me, I’m celebrating.”
“This is a special day for me, too, and I’m also celebrating!” says the woman.
“What a coincidence.” says the man. They clinked glasses and he asked, “What are you celebrating?””My husband and I have been trying to have a child.Today, my gynecologist told me I’m pregnant!
“What a coincidence.” says the man. “I’m a chicken farmer. For years all my hens were infertile, but today they’re finally fertile.”
“That’s great!” says the woman, “How did your chickens become fertile?”
“I switched cocks,” he replied.
“What a coincidence,” she said.

BIKERNET INTERIUM FLOW BENCH UPDATE– Check out this website This is what I used to start with. The link will have the pages from Popular Hot Rod 93′ MSD FLowbench article/plans. The plans are for a orifice style bench and is very similar to a Superflow 300/600 flowbench. The forum also has info on the errors in the original flowbench plans. As for mat’l use MDF board instead of particle board, like what I used. It is more dense and alot stronger. The higher cost is worth it. The biggest error in the plans is the width of orifice disk plate. Station #6 has the wrong size holes for the CFM stated. Next problem is with the inclined manometer. Also you need a top plenum extension that includes a baffle that the original plans do not have. This would make it look more like the SF 600. These errors along with other things have slowed me down. Not a excuse, just fact. They were tied up, led to the village and brought before the leader. The leader said, “I am familiar with your western custom of granting thecondemned a last wish. Before we kill and dismember you, do you have any last requests?” Dan Rather said, “Well, I’m a Texan, so I’d like one last bowlful of hot, spicy chili.” The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, “Now I can die content.” Cokie Roberts said, “I’m a reporter to the end. I want to take out my taperecorder and describe the scene here and what’s about to happen. Maybesomeday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job ’til the end.” The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder, and Robertsdictated some comments. She then said, “Now I can die happy.” The leader turned and said, “And now, Mr. U.S. Marine, what is your finalwish?” “Kick me in the ass,” said the Marine.” “What?” asked the leader. “Will you mock us in your last hour?” “No, I’m not kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass,” insisted theMarine. So the leader shoved him into the open, and kicked him in the ass. TheMarine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9-mm pistol frominside his cammies, and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, heleapt to his knapsack, pulled out his M4 carbine, and sprayed the Iraqiswith gunfire. In a flash, the Iraqis were dead or fleeing for their lives. As the Marine was untying Rather and Roberts, they asked him, “Why didn’t you just shoot them? Why did you ask them to kick you in theass?” What!?” said the Marine, “And have you liberal assholes call ME theaggressor?” –from Rev CarlR THE BIKERNET TRAIN STORY– A man and a woman, who have never met before, find themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a Bikernet transcontinental train. Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, the two are tired and fall asleep quickly…he in the upper bunk and she in the lower. At 1:00 AM, he leans over and gently wakes the woman saying, “Ma’am, I’m sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the closet to get me a second blanket? I’m awfully cold.” “I have a better idea,” she replies. “Just for tonight, let’s pretend that we’re married.” “Wow! That’s a great idea!!” he exclaims. “Good,” she replies. “Get your own damn blanket!” After a moment of silence, he farted. –from Rogue
