BIKERNET RALLY ROCKING NEWS HEADLINES

KKI girl

For Sale ? the motor that is from Kustom Kolors Ink.

Hey,

Hang on for this news. Each week it grows and kicks our butts all over the Intergalactic Headquarters. Last night while I hung out in the Wilshire District of LA with Dr. Hamster and a couple of hundred theatrical agents and stars with a handful of Harley execs and the new model line-up, somewhere in the sky was a solstice moon, indicating the emerging summer.

Paul James pulled me aside and said, “You can’t release anything you see here until July 22.” I dropped my super secret, thumbnail camera and we wrestled for it in the only narrow strip of grass in all of Avenue of the Stars. Watch for a new wild Sportster and a tough street fighting V-Rod to hit the streets for 2009. That’s all I can say. Let’s hit the news:

Take exit # 180 off Interstate 40 and go north on 801 for six miles? you will run right into it? or follow your fellow chopper freaks to the Farmington dragstrip.

Smoke Outs aren?t your normal biker parties. This is the one event that the focus is the home-bike-builder. Go to the website and see for yourself the best three days the East Coast offers. http://www.smokeoutrally.com/

GEORGIA:NMA Blog Update Atlanta Suburb Turns Drivers Into Fuel Pumps– It?s a ridiculous concept, but somehow it seemed inevitable. Check out this story from USA Today:

The surging price of gasoline has come to this: a “fuel surcharge” on your next speeding ticket. Drivers caught speeding in this north Atlanta suburb [Holly Springs] soon will have to pay an extra $12 ? to cover $4-a-gallon gas costs for the police officers who stop them. Is your police cruiser running low on fuel? No problem, just pull over someone driving home from work, ticket them, and you?ll have a full tank of gas in no time. It doesn?t matter who you pull over because ? thanks to Atlanta?s notoriously under-posted speed limits ? everyone is a speeder. Need to balance your budget? Maybe you should look to Pizza Hut for inspiration:

[Police Chief Ken] Ball says he was seeking ways to maintain patrols despite record high gas prices. “I was hearing that Delta (Air Lines), pizza deliverers, florists were adding fuel charges to their services, and I thought, why not police departments?” he says. Unfortunately it looks like this isn?t going to be an isolated case. As with any situation where money is available to be taken from citizens, local government is on the case immediately:

Ball says he?s being “inundated” by calls from police chiefs and city managers. “I?ve heard from at least a dozen police chiefs and half a dozen city managers,” he says of the measure passed Monday night. “They want to know how we did it, and could we send them a copy of the ordinance.” Yikes. PITBULL

BIG DOG MOTORCYCLES 2008 PITBULL NAMED BEST CRUISER BY ROBB REPORT MAGAZINE–The award marks the second time the all-new motorcycle has been recognized for its design and riding capabilities

WICHITA, Kansas (June 13, 2008) ? Described as ?not a bike for the shy and unassuming? and one that ?demands attention wherever it runs,? Big Dog Motorcycles? 2008 Pitbull was named ?Best of the Best? Cruiser by the editors of Robb Report magazine. This is the second award the all-new, completely redesigned bike has received honors.

In February, Paisano Publications, a diversified media company offering a wide variety of motorcycle magazines, including Easyriders and V-Twin, named it the 2008 V-Twin Bike of the Year.

?We are honored to see the Pitbull receive another award by a well-respected magazine,? commented Paul Hansen, Marketing Director, Big Dog Motorcycles. ?This distinction affirms Big Dog Motorcycles? commitment to fresh, world-class designs. The Pitbull is clearly the showpiece for our high performance, high style motorcycle manufacturing capabilities.?

Don Williams of Robb Report agrees. In the recent ?Best of the Best? issue, the magazine?s 20th annual edition, Williams said the Pitbull handles surprisingly well, has a sensible riding position, and has an inviting appearance. ?Eventually, everyone will be drawn to its beastly beauty,? he said.

?It?s exciting to see the industry notice our fresh, new style of bikes,? Hansen added. ?With sales, marketing, engineering, and our dynamic network of dealers all working together, the design strategy was flawlessly executed.? Additional information about the Best of the Best award can be accessed through the magazine?s web site, www.robbreport.com.

The centerpiece of the Pitbull?s new chassis is an all-new spring seat, stretched one-piece fuel tank, and a new tall wheel combination that is unique to the industry.

Contoured and sweeping, the 4.6 gallon tank enhances the motorcycle?s curves and brings prominence to the boulevard cruiser. Big Dog Motorcycles designers then bent the rules of traditional frame design with an all-new radical rigid frame that cradles the ultra fat 280 rear tire and stunning 20? x 10?? polished billet rear wheel. With a traditional stretch of 6? over standard backbone and 1? over standard down tube, the new frame, together with the spring seat, magnifies the motorcycle?s fresh, neo-retro design. The seat also adds to the rider?s comfort.

The front features a 23? x 3?? wheel, making the Pitbull?s front/rear wheel combination the first of its kind in the high-volume custom manufacturing industry making it a major design element on this fresh, new model. A pleasing 33-degree rake provides excellent low-speed maneuvering, high-speed handling, and strong turning performance.

Like all Big Dog Motorcycles in the 2008 line-up, the Pitbull?s effectiveness is born from a heart-pounding 117 cubic inch engine (1,916cc). With tremendous power and torque, the American V-twin power plant is effortlessly brought up to speed with the company?s trademark 6-speed BDM Balance Drive, the award-winning system allows for better balance, cornering, and maneuverability. The motorcycle is available either carbureted or with electronic fuel injection.

The clutch has been dramatically redesigned for 2008, significantly reducing lever effort and allowing for even smoother engagement.

Other standard features include 4-piston billet caliper brakes (front and rear) and 2-piece rotors for confident stopping; speedometer with integrated LED tachometer; 2-into-1 exhaust; durable steel fenders; and gleaming chrome and polished billet components throughout.

Riders can customize their 2008 Pitbull with over seventy graphic options and a selection of vibrant base colors, chrome upgrades, and an extensive line of aftermarket accessories. These include: made-to-order custom seats, sissy bar and passenger seating; touring bags, and more.

AMSOIL HARLEY BANNER

AMSOIL REACHES FOR HORSEPOWER GAINS–Here’s a good example of the benefits of using Amsoil Synthetic Motorcycle Oil and NGK Spark Plugs. Just changing to Amsoil Synthetic Motorcycle Oil resulted in 2 Horsepower gains but the addition of the NGK plugs was a real surprise.

If you aren’t using Amsoil and NGK you’re not getting the performance that your engine is capable of. The 2 horsepower gain is strictly from reduced friction which also means that the engine is running cooler and that it is not wearing as fast as it was on standard oil.

Follow the link to see the dyno results. http://www.amsoil.com/news/2008_motorcycle_dyno.pdf

When you’re ready to order just give me a call or go to my website and place your order through the Amsoil online store link.
