Hey,
I don’t know what to make of this weekend. It reminded me of the Love Ride Weekends in the past. There was a party every night leading up to the main event. Folks flew in from all over the globe. The Born Free weekend has a similar vibe, but it’s not a ride, or a charity event.
This is all about the new bread of custom motorcycles, and they are cool, unfortunately the traffic to Irvine Lake sucks, and there is absolutely no cell phone connection on the grounds. Couldn’t they drag in a portable cell phone tower. Between the traffic and the short one-day event hours, we were there and gone.
It’s too bad they can’t make this a broader event on the coast with terrific access, more activities, and a more user friendly venue. This is sort of the Smoke Out West without the camping, the fun, the drag strip, the girls, the all-night parties, the access, the slap-stick, and non-stop action.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s cool, and it’s home to this group in So Cal. So it’s a happening vibe, and every magazine in So Cal will cover it, for the level of custom bikes. Let’s see what happens next year.
It’s hot as hell, so let’s hit the news, quick, then I’ll fill you in on the line-up for next week.

YOU WON’T GET HIGH ON THESE HOGS–
By Manuel Valdes Associated Press
SNOHOMISH, Wash. —
The white van with tinted windows pulled up to the driveway with its cargo — cardboard boxes full of marijuana. And the customers eagerly awaited it, grunting and snorting.
Part flavor experiment, part green recycling, part promotion and bolstered by the legalization of recreational marijuana in Washington state, excess pot has been fed to three Berkshire pigs by their owners, pig farmer Jeremy Gross and Seattle butcher William von Schneidau, since earlier this year.
Gross and von Schneidau now sell their “pot pig” cuts at von Schneidau’s butcher shop in Seattle’s Pike Place Market at a premium price — bacon is $17 a pound while chops go for $16.90 a pound. “He’s like, ‘Let’s see what kind of flavor it gives it.’ So we ran it and it gave good flavor,” Gross said. “It’s like anything else — what you feed them is what they’re going to taste like. It’s almost like a savory alfalfa fed cow or alfalfa fed pig.”
The meat, though, won’t get people high.
While the passage of recreational marijuana inspired the experiment, Gross and von Schneidau get the marijuana excess — roots, stems, and other part of the plant that are ground up and not used for consumption — from a medical marijuana dispensary.
At the butcher shop, cuts from the pot pigs are signed with a little drawing of a marijuana leaf stuck on them with a toothpick. “It tastes like the best pork chop you’ve ever had,” said Matt McAlman, who runs Top Shelf Organic, the dispensary that is providing the pot plant waste for the pigs to eat.

MOTORCYCLE STUDIES–The 3rd International Journal of Motorcycle Studies Conference 2013 – 4-6 July is still open for booking : http://ijms2013.wordpress.com/registration/
Motorcycle Cultures: fashioning bikes, building identities, is co-curated by Caryn Simonson and Space Station Sixty-Five. This artist-led exhibition captures some of the motorcycling identities that make different motorcycle ‘cultures’ distinct.
Motorcycle culture has been a source of inspiration for fashion, film, literature and music ever since motorcycles and their riders were first seen on the streets. The exhibition brings together contemporary art, photography and design, image and object, concept and documentation. Motorcycle Cultures seeks to explore the close link between motorcycle styles and visual identities that are fashioned in tandem with these. Themes addressed include: the aesthetics of speed; the DIY ethos of the custom culture scene; and the importance of community, lifestyle and value that the motorcycle can engender.
The work shown is a curated eclectic mix of designed objects, advertising, fashion, photography, film and textiles rather than a comprehensive survey of styles.
Exhibits include: Cathie Pilkington’s Gonk sculpture; Sam Christmas’ custom culture photographs; Phil Polglaze’s original documentary photographs of the Rockers’ Reunion; Mac Motorcycles’ prototype motorbike; Tom Helyar-Cardwell’s ‘Battle Jacket’ paintings and drawings; Philippa Brock’s woven denims ‘Cherish’; Kate Smith’s video work; Caryn Simonson’s ‘dressed up’ motorcycle portraits; Nick Clements’ re-enactment photographs; Erling T.V Klingenberg’s motorbike painting performance; Craig Fisher’s hazard installation; Kathryn Round’s jacket on jacket; Chris Watson’s Bad Motorcycle screenprints; and David Simmonds’ photos exploring speed and embodiment at the TT.
Exhibitors:
Philippa Brock, Nick Clements, Sam Christmas, Craig Fisher, Adam Fuller, Tom Helyar-Cardwell, Rachael House, Erling T.V. Klingenberg, Ellis Pitt, Cathie Pilkington, Phil Polglaze, Kathryn Round, David Simmonds, Caryn Simonson, Kate Smith, Chris Watson.

ALL BIKES ALL GONE AS FIRE BURNS THROUGH HISTORIC SALVAGE YARD–Crews spent most of Saturday night battling a massive fire at a bike/automotive salvage yard in Rye that destroyed at least several homes and threatened the surrounding forest.
Ron Adler, the owner of All Bikes, said he had no idea how the fire started, but once he spotted the flames, he grabbed a hose and tried to save his home and prized bicycle and motorcycle collection.
#Adler said he had amassed roughly 9,000 motorcycles, at least twice that many bicycles and dozens of classic cars in the two-acre lot over a 25-year period.

BIKERNET STUDIES THE DOGS VS. THE EVIL NESTERS–A husband, wife and a son walk into an ice-cream shop. The dad says “I’ll have a chocolate.” The wife says “I’ll have a vanilla.”Then the dad slaps his son in the back of the head and says, “What do you want, fat head?”
The lady helping them says, “Why did you hit him in the back of the head and call him fat head?
“The husband says, “There are three things in life a man wants: The first thing is a nice big truck. And you see that nice big truck sitting out there??? That’s my nice truck!!!The second thing in life a man wants is a nice big house. You seen that nice big house on top of the hill on the edge of town? That’s my big house!!! The third thing in life a man wants is a nice tight pussy, and I had that until fat head came along!!!

WE DON’T GENERALLY ALLOW COMMERCIALS IN THE CANTINA–This was an Australian commercial . They are a little more open minded, I guess.
BIKERNET UNIVERSITY WEEKEND CLASS TROUBLES– drawl drawl, verb:
1. to say or speak in a slow manner, usually prolonging the vowels.
“They particularly object to what they describe as the drawling intonation of American actors.” “Drawl!” exclaimed Maryna. “Since when do I drawl?”
— Susan Sontag, In America: A Novel, 1999
She is discussed by her dear friends with all the genteelest slang in vogue, with the last new word, the last new manner, the last new drawl, and the perfection of polite indifference.
— Charles Dickens, Bleak House, 1853
Almost immediately the glass door opened again to admit a stocky figure that held back for a moment in the shadows at the far end of the room and in a kind of drawl said something that sounded like “ ‘t’s ‘n honor.”
— Thomas Mann, Buddenbrooks, 1901
Drawl entered English in the late-1500s and is likely from the East Frisian draulen meaning “to linger” or “delay.” It is thought to be related to the word draw

I am wondering is there any financial help in getting me a motorcycle and equipped so I can ride it in my wheelchair? I have been paralyzed from waist down since December 1997 being confined to a wheelchair!
In June 2009 I lost my job due to cut backs. In December 2010 I became major Anemic causing major health issues and me to be on disability still currently. I barely make enough on disability to pay my bills, medical bills and just normal things needed to survive.
Any help or where to go would be appreciated! thanks ahead of time for your prompt attention to this matter! Talk to you Later and Be Careful.

BIKERNET 5-Ball RACING WHEELER REPORT
Have a great 4th. Love your Family, Ride your Motorcycle, Blow some shit up and have fun. Think FREEDOM.
It’s officially Racing Season everywhere and it’s Hot and Nasty in Wilmington on one muggy night. The fans are on with occasional shuffling of the paperwork with the important notes and the Pirates map to the hidden treasure.
One of the treasures at the moment is tucked away in Corona, CA. at Race Tech Suspension facilities scheduled for completion Monday, as in one restless night, a get up and a pick up.
Friday afternoon while visiting the Crew at Branch Heads in Signal Hill, CA. peeked at a set of Twin Cam Barrels fresh out of a lathe where John cleaned up the fins to provide a clean round look that’s bad ass. From a stock somewhat boring (insider joke) look to a clean round look. Eric Bennett spotted the clean look and removed the cylinders from his brand new, never fired 107 inch Twin Cam build to have the fins modified by John O’Keefe at O’keefe and Branch.
More energy these days than the law allows on a natural. Surrounded these days with positive influences and a plan for the years ahead with a bright future healthy outlook.
So, Ride your motorcycle like your life depends on it, it does. Keep an eye out for one cross-country ridin’ young lady. Look for Felicia Morgan at the Hollister event.
Rolled to the Born Free in my pick up filled with gear. On the way home a young female behind the wheel of a newer BMW, in the lane to my right was texting for quite sometime unaware of anything. Just for the hellva of it, blasted the horn to no acknowledgement. Hypnotized to the MAX. Stayed on the horn for over 5 miles, not one time did her eyes leave the texting. Kept her to the right and ahead by a car length. Easy to watch for the unexpected when you’re tuned in.
Keep your eyes open and arrive safe, maybe.
Thanks….With one helleva lot of help from my family and Industry friends….Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.
We’re on track for a stellar year rollin on the street and the ever slippery, never predictable Bonneville Salt Flats.

THE BAD COP FILE EXPANDS WITH A Video report by Mike Watkiss–TEMPE, Ariz. — A 3TV viewer snapped a picture of a Tempe police officer texting while riding his motorcycle on U.S. 60 near Stapley Drive in Mesa earlier this week.??
The man who took the photo said the motorcycle officer was on his phone for several minutes while traveling more than 80 mph at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.??”I kind of looked over and I saw it and it dawned on me what I just saw and I looked again and that’s when I took the picture,” Justin Argall said.??
Police sent a statement to 3TV, which reads, “The Tempe Police Department does not condone this type of distracted driving. In fact we have instituted specific policies prohibiting texting while operating police vehicles.
Texting while driving or performing any activities that take away attention from the driving task are extremely dangerous and should be avoided whenever possible. Training will be provided to reduce the chance of our officers putting themselves in similar dangerous situations in the future.”??
The Tempe Police Department did not publicly identify the officer but said he has been counseled and this incident is now considered closed.?

Irwindale, Calif. (June 30, 2013) – – Beginning with the July 20th NASCAR races at Irwindale Speedway a new Open Comp(etition) division will be taking to the track’s tricky inner third-mile track replacing (at least temporarily) the Speedway’s Figure 8 cars.

OUTRAGE OVER COMMENTS SLAMMING MOTORCYCLISTS–
–By Gary Richards
Q To Barbara Waaland and Sarah Morgan — the ladies who were complaining about motorcycle riders and freeway signs urging drivers to look twice for motorcyclists in Monday’s column:
I have been riding motorcycles for more than 20 years and have been nearly run over or hit on freeways and surface streets by distracted drivers, most of whom have been women. Women in minivans full of unruly children, “chatty Cathys” having social time while driving with friends, people texting and talking on their phones, women with their yappy dogs on their laps or turning to give a child a juice box.
There are “little old ladies” with poor timing pulling out of driveways in their tank-like sedans, and drivers listening to music so loud that they can’t hear my bike next to them and who then change lanes. Oh, then there is the “I have to put my lipstick on while driving 65 mph.”
So ladies, it is not just riders that are dangerous. Although you may feel that we all deserve tickets, the lifetime consequence if you kill or maim one of us with your vehicle won’t be worth not looking twice. Look twice for motorcycles (and bicycles for that matter). Your long-term mental health may depend on it.
–Rose Litvin
San Jose
A Monday’s column on this generated a large response, and today motorcyclists and others who like the safety messages posted on electronic freeway signs weigh in. But let’s be fair, Rose. Men and women drivers both need to be on the alert.
Q I was shocked by your “Don’t tell me to look out for motorcycles” column. When Barbara Waaland says she “has yet to see a motorcyclist that didn’t deserve a ticket for some unsafe maneuver,” and “if one chooses to get too close with a bonehead maneuver, he will have to take the consequences,” I saw red. What a ridiculous thing to say.The vast majority of automobile vs. motorcycle accidents are caused by motorists who don’t follow the rules of the road and take a good look. And when a motorcyclist goes down the question is never, “Did he get hurt?” It’s “How badly was he hurt?” or “Was he killed?”
There’s no such thing as a fender-bender on a motorcycle.
Dave Martens
San Jose
A Unfortunately, a year ago Dave and his wife were injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway 84.
Q We were out for a pleasant ride one afternoon when an automobile coming from the opposite direction outside Livermore pulled an illegal U-turn in front of us and we hit him broadside at 50 mph. The aftermath has been horrible for us, to say the least. Perhaps if he would have heeded the “Look twice for motorcyclists” warning, an awful lot of pain and suffering could have been avoided.
Dave Martens
A Continue, please.
Q We were both taken to a trauma center. My wife, thank goodness, used me as her personal air bag and then went airborne for 10 or 15 yards, ending up on the side of the road. She was scraped and bruised, with a sore neck and missing tooth.
I took the majority of the impact, and needed to be airlifted by the Stanford Life Flight helicopter. I had a broken arm, torn tendons in my hand, massive rotator cuff tear (three of the four shoulder muscles were torn clean off the bone), broken hip socket, crushed knee and ankle as well as a concussion and road rash.
I’ve had four surgeries at Stanford, with one more to go. I will wind up with two new and one rebuilt joint on my left side alone.
Dave Martens
A Dave has one final comment.
Q I say that reminding motorists to “Look twice for motorcyclists” is some of the best advice ever given.
Dave Martens
A I so agree. It is silly to rail against a freeway message to look twice for motorcyclists.
Q Thank you, CHP. You have made my life much safer since the start of your “Look twice for motorcyclists” campaign. I couldn’t believe my recent experience lane-splitting south on Highway 1 through Santa Cruz. Motorists were giving my friends and I a wide berth and some hand-waving as we passed. Be assured there were a few motorists with issues, but what a wonderful difference. Looks like we have a chance that most everyone may get the word that to share the road is a good thing. I now have a little hope.

DREAM CHASER RACIN’ NHRA Cordova Results–The Dream Chaser Racin’ team didn’t run their best numbers but Janette Thornley is riding like a bracket racer on a nitro powered Pro Dragster. Thornley continues to run strong consistent numbers and a #2 qualifying spot is what the team needs for winning in the future events with the NHRA Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series.
Thornley, “Of course we’d like to win every event, but we ran ET’s of 7.5, 7.8, 7.7, 7.5 and 7.6, our worst mph was 163.1 and our best 172.5 mph. We lost to Dave Larson, who’s been racing for years by .0102 of a second.”
“The data we gathered at the Matco Summer Showdown presented by Clinton Harley-Davidson at Cordova Dragway is always beneficial. All in all, Cordova Dragway’s event was a good event for us. We had no major mechanical problems, just good consistent racing in front of good crowds with good weather, can’t whine about that.”
The team will regroup the month of July and we’ll take some time to do some updates to the motorcycle. Dream Chasin’ Racing is planning a test session in Sacramento California (dates to be determined and announced soon).
But don’t miss Dream Chaser Racin’ as they return for competition in August.

INTERNAL AUSSIE MC FEUD REIGNITES–
It’s being reported that an internal feud engulfing one of Australia’s larger motorcycle clubs, the Comancheros, has been reignited, with a clubhouse allegedly ‘stormed’ by gun-wielding bikers and a man severely assaulted.
A source allegedly linked to the Comancheros says rival chapter leaders are preparing for battle after the ambush on the club’s newest chapter on Wednesday night.
The Australian Broadcasting Commission says it has been told about 80 Comanchero dressed in black stormed into the groups South clubhouse in the southern Sydney suburb of Turrella with guns and torches.
About 20 members who had gathered for a meeting were allegedly told their chapter was being shut down.
They were ordered to defect or else hand over their Comanchero patches.
The source says a number of men were assaulted, including a veteran Comanchero and another man called Ali El Ali, who later showed up to Bankstown Hospital with a broken jaw, nose and ribs.
Police from the anti-biker Strike Force Raptor are investigating the assault of Mr El Ali but say they have received no information about any violence at the Turrella clubhouse.
The confrontation followed two months of disquiet within the club, sparked by the surprise establishment of the South chapter in April.
The chapter was set up by Mohammad “Mick” Hijazi but he soon flew to Lebanon when publicity about the expansion ratcheted up tensions within the club.
The source says Mr Hijazi is now planning to return to Sydney to defend his territory.
“It’s gonna be a war,” he said.
Police believe the club has been torn by a power struggle, with Comanchero leader Mark Buddle trying to stamp his authority on the club as national president.
Last November Mr Buddle’s cousin, John Devine, survived an attempt on his life in the Sydney suburb of Rhodes which left him with critical gunshot wounds to the stomach.
Two days earlier junior club member Faalau Pisu was shot dead and two others were injured in an what has been described as an indiscriminate gun attack on a Comanchero wedding in Canley Vale.
Police believe both attacks were part of the leadership feud.
New South Wales police claimed a small PR victory against the Comanchero last month when they dismantled the clubs Milperra clubhouse and arrested four members, including senior biker Giacomo “Jack” Dipizio.

FLAP DEVELOPES IN WEBSTER OVER MOTORCYCLE– Motorcycles parked on the sidewalks in the village of Webster have drawn Mayor John Cahill, Webster Police Chief Gerald Pickering and a Main Street business owner into a nasty fight replete with name-calling and accusations of cronyism and abuse of power.
The spark was provided by Tom McCoy, owner of Performance Hobbies. For the past three years, he has parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk in front of his shop because he’s afraid it will get knocked over in the back municipal lot and he doesn’t want to take a street spot from potential customers.
It’s not in the middle of the sidewalk where it would obstruct pedestrians, but it is in the sidewalk nonetheless, and it occurred to Cahill, the newly elected mayor, that it (or one of the other motorcycles that sometimes appear on the sidewalk) could fall on or burn a small child. He and McCoy entered into a cat-and-mouse game with Cahill calling the police and asking for enforcement when he saw the bike out.
“I’m just not willing to look the other way to appease one person when I’m getting multiple complaints,” Cahill said. McCoy called the mayor a “power-hungry runt (who) is trying to take over the village, which has been running smoothly for 20 years.”
Police responded twice and suggested McCoy move the bike, but Chief Pickering said McCoy’s logic in parking on the sidewalk is “pretty hard to argue with” and suggested Cahill was bickering with business owners.
Pickering was particularly sensitive to Cahill speaking directly with town Supervisor Ronald Nesbitt about the matter rather than to Pickering directly. In a lengthy email exchange between the two, he accused Cahill of having a “personal vendetta” against McCoy and cited state law on political misconduct and obstructing governmental administration, writing that the Police Department “(would) not be used as weapons in your personal battles … without employing legal remedy.”
Cahill in turn accused the police chief of protecting his friend, McCoy, at the expense of town law. McCoy accused Cahill of parking for four hours in a one-hour parking spot. Pickering asked why Cahill and the Village Board don’t just create on-street motorcycle parking. And so on.
For the time being, McCoy has agreed to park on the street, but didn’t make any promises about what he’d do if spaces there are lacking. The Village Board will consider eliminating the lightly enforced one-hour parking limit at its meeting Thursday night.

LICENSE PLATE READERS COME TO TOWNS NEAR YOU–A license-plate reader mounted on a San Leandro Police Department car can log thousands of plates in an eight-hour patrol shift. “It works 100 times better than driving around looking for license plates with our eyes,” says police Lt. Randall Brandt.
Credit: Michael Katz-Lacabe
When the city of San Leandro, Calif., purchased a license-plate reader for its police department in 2008, computer security consultant Michael Katz-Lacabe asked the city for a record of every time the scanners had photographed his car.
The results shocked him.
The paperback-size device, installed on the outside of police cars, can log thousands of license plates in an eight-hour patrol shift. Katz-Lacabe said it had photographed his two cars on 112 occasions, including one image from 2009 that shows him and his daughters stepping out of his Toyota Prius in their driveway.
That photograph, Katz-Lacabe said, made him “frightened and concerned about the magnitude of police surveillance and data collection.” The single patrol car in San Leandro equipped with a plate reader had logged his car once a week on average, photographing his license plate and documenting the time and location.
At a rapid pace, and mostly hidden from the public, police agencies throughout California have been collecting millions of records on drivers and feeding them to intelligence fusion centers operated by local, state and federal law enforcement.
With heightened concern over secret intelligence operations at the National Security Agency, the localized effort to track drivers highlights the extent to which the government has committed to collecting large amounts of data on people who have done nothing wrong.
A year ago, the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center – one of dozens of law enforcement intelligence-sharing centers set up after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 – signed a $340,000 agreement with the Silicon Valley firm Palantir to construct a database of license-plate records flowing in from police using the devices across 14 counties, documents and interviews show.
The extent of the center’s data collection has never been revealed. Neither has the involvement of Palantir, a Silicon Valley firm with extensive ties to the Pentagon and intelligence agencies. The CIA’s venture capital fund, In-Q-Tel, has invested $2 million in the firm.
The jurisdictions supplying license-plate data to the intelligence center stretch from Monterey County to the Oregon border. According to contract documents, the database will be capable of handling at least 100 million records and be accessible to local and state law enforcement across the region.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Northern California will be able to access the data, as will state and federal authorities.
While some law enforcement agencies, like the California Highway Patrol, have their own data retention guidelines for license-plate scanners, Simitian said there still is no larger policy that protects the privacy of Californians on the road.
“Public safety and privacy protection are not mutually exclusive,” he said. “There’s a balance to be struck, and most people understand that.”
Heal, the retired sheriff’s commander, said that absent clear legal limits on license-plate readers, law enforcement agencies will continue to expand their ability to gather such information.
“A lot of the guidance on this technology – the court doctrine – is nonexistent,” Heal said. “Until that guidance comes, law enforcement is in an exploratory mode.”
LORD, THEY’RE FINALLY TOGETHER —She married and had 13 children. Her husband died. She married again and had 7 more children. Again, her husband died. But, she remarried and this time had 5 more children.
She finally died after having 25 children. Standing before her coffin, the preacher prayed for her. He thanked the Lord for this very loving woman and said, ” Lord, they’re finally together.” One mourner leaned over and quietly asked her friend, ” Do you think he means her first, second or third husband?”
The friend replied, ” I think he means her legs.”

BIKERNET UNIVERSITY ENGLISH DEPARTMENT CAN’T STOP WITH THE BULLSHIT VOCABULARY LESSONS--mickle MIK-uhl, adjective:
Archaic. great; large; much.
The shipmaster laughed: “Friend,” said he, “we can thee mickle thanks for all that thou biddest us. And wot well that we be no lifters or sea—thieves to take thy livelihood from thee.”
If I to-day die not with Frenchmen’s rage,/To-morrow I shall die with mickle age…
Mickle came to English from the Old English term micel, mycel meaning “great,” “big,” or “much.” It comes from a Proto-Indo-European root meg- meaning “great,” or “large.”
AUSTRALIAN ATTACK ON MOTORCYCLE CLUBS CAN’T STOP MIGRATION–Local Queensland media is claiming one of America’s largest motorcycle clubs is looking to establish a presence on the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast Bulletin says it captured exclusive images of patched members of the Mongols in Southport on the Queensland coast.
Police say they fear another club ‘muscling’ into the city limits could finally tip an already tense environment, with 10 clubs now vying for a slice of the party strip.
Of the 10, seven have clubhouses in the area.
There are claims that the number of motorcycle club members on the Gold Coast have skyrocketed, with up to a third of Queensland bikers now having a Gold Coast address.
Queensland police union president Ian Leavers condemned the Mongol push, saying they “simply cause an increase in crime and scare away tourists”.
“As a community we need to tell these bikie thugs they are not welcome on the Gold Coast,” Mr Leavers said.
Police claims tensions between clubs are high, with the altercation between the Finks and Nomads at last week’s Cooly Rocks On festival the latest in a long run of violence.
The two clubs insist there is no issue between the clubs, only “personal rivalries”.
A series of recent tattoo parlour fire bombings and an alleged ‘drug-fuelled rampage’ have added to the friction.
Senior police sources say the Mongols, sworn international enemies of the Hells Angels, have established a temporary base at Carrara, the heart of Rebels territory.
The Rebels claim to be Australia’s largest and strongest motorcycle club and will not welcome any attempt to push into their turf, police said.
Their clubhouse is based in Lawrence Drive, Nerang, close to Mongol-owned business interests.
“The Mongols are a serious bike club,” police said. “Look at their history. This club means business.”
Media are quoting unnamed sources which estimate the Mongols have about 70 patched members in Australia, with the NSW Central Coast being the club’s stronghold.
The Mongols MC website claims the club has several chapters in NSW, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Their push into the Coast coincides with moves to have the Finks declared a criminal organisation. It will be heard in the Supreme Court in October.
The Gold Coast Bulletin forwarded the images to police ant-biker squad Taskforce Hydra, which refused to go into the Mongols’ public presence for “operational reasons”.
It is believed previous efforts by the club to break into Australia had failed.
“They have tried to push into a number of cities without much luck,” the unknown sources said.
“They seem to get a few members and then they go nowhere. They aren’t much of a force in Australia, especially when you consider the size of the clubs in Australia.”
However, police fear the bitter enmity between the Mongols and Hells Angels could increase friction.
“The Mongols are sworn enemies of the Hells Angels. In the US the club has a shoot-on-sight policy for any Hells Angels,” police said.
Mongols claim on their website they have received “massive support” in Australia.
“We as a club have gone back to the true basic values of what a motorcycle club is and should be and that reflects on our brotherhood that we have with our support, love and respect for one another and for our passion of motorcycles is unheard of,” the website states. “Mongols MC Australia would like to thank you for visiting our website and for your support and welcome you to the Mongol nation.”

WHAT THE FUCK, OVER?—Life is so nuts. I’ve been challenged plenty this weekend. I’ve also been offered the austere opportunity to write a proposal for a grant effort. We would like to make Freedom a priority in this country, and broaden the educational mantra to embrace all levels of education, including trade schools. Get this, it all must be written under the umbrella of safety. Hang on for the rough draft.
Okay, so what’s happening this week? You’ll see various reports on the Smoke Out, Born Free, Panhead restoration, Texas drag racing, and a surprise or two.
This coming week the Thursday news falls on the 4th. We may attempt to rock the news on Wednesday and take the 4th off. Would that be amazing or what? What the hell would I do with myself. I’ll stumble into trouble.
Ride Forever,
