Harley-Davidson and UFC Fans Choose Fight Location

Harley-Davidson Motor Company continues its ride with the Ultimate Fighting Championship® at the Hometown Throwdown event June 8, 2012 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

UFC flyweight rivals Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Ian McCall will headline the Hometown Throwdown event, which airs live on FX at 9 p.m. ET. The winner goes on to fight Joseph Benavidez for the first ever UFC 125-pound title later in the year.

Fort Lauderdale was selected for this event as part of the UFC Harley-Davidson Hometown Throwdown program where fans went online at ufc.com/hometownthrowdown to submit a city for a fight location. Fans also voted to choose the first fight shown on the FX telecast and one fan won a sweepstakes for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a trip to the fight.

“Hometown Throwdown gives the passionate fans of UFC and Harley-Davidson the unique opportunity to help choose a fight location and which bout will be shown first,” said Harley-Davidson Marketing Director Dino Bernacchi. “Harley-Davidson and many of its customers continue to enjoy the intense competition and excitement of the UFC.”

Other details of the Hometown Throwdown event include local Harley-Davidson dealer participation, Dark Custom motorcycle presence, and Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Boot Camp for fighters and coaches to be shown on the Ultimate Fighter Live on FX (www.ultimatefighter.com).
