BREW DUDE SCORES IN COLUMBUS–Well, we went to the Columbus Easyrider Show to compete and enjoy some time with friends. The show had several bikes I have never seen and attendance was great! Met several from Bikernet and the Easyriders Forum board. The bike received a 1st in class, which I was thrilled. Later, they had the 5 2008 Easyriders VQ Awards. When they came to Old School Builder of the Year I was listening who received it. When they called out my name I knew I misheard and then my pic flashed up on the screen and was dazed. Still am! I also saw banners and on the screen several times Bikernet.com as a sponsor. I want to say THANKS to all the Easyrider Staff and for the comments and e-mails we have received.

Bad Ass, Steve! Congratulations! It is finally happening, my favorite builders are finally becoming “industry vogue” and the industry is catching up with what I always believed to be.

SASHA PUBLISHES HER SECOND BOOK–My next book comes out July 2008 by Motorbooks International, FYI. It’s very fun, spiritual, quirky – “Chrome Cowgirl’s Guide to the Motorcycle Life” and I’ll be sending you some press information about it. As well, hopefully I’ll learn soon if my fiction book was accepted by Red Dress Ink!

Been recording my debut album with some outstanding musicians here in Nashville. www.myspace.com/motoroadeo is where you can hear some of the working mixes. The name of the band is Motoroadeo MC (MC standing for music/motorcycle club). We’re in the thick of it now. I have an entire vision for this. Always, the gratitude goes back to you, your early believe in my blossoming desire to take my art and express my passion for riding. Truly it is AMAZING to have such encouragement early on…now, it’s ten years later since we first spoke and I’ve accomplished so very much.

Just wanted to give you an update.

BIKERNET SOUTH AFRICAN CORRESPONDENT CHECKS IN–Hey old sage, How are you doin?. I haven’t been buggin you because I’ve been away on vacation. Went to the east coast of the country to get away from my life. I never really thought about work much until I would hear the familiar sound of a V- twin echoing off the buildings at two in the morning. One knows instinctively where the rider has been. You also hope he gets home safely and doesn’t feel too bad in the morning.

Man, I envy the dudes who ride down the coast roads and I wish I had had a bike down there. One morning I went looking for an old fishing buddy Sidney (Ex Navy diver who got the bends when going back to save a fellow diver in trouble. He’s damaged and drinks too much. but I love the dude like a brother) who drifts from one construction site to the next doing most anything they tell him to. I could not find him. but I met a very interesting dude who hails from your neck of the woods. Henry came to South Africa ten years ago on vacation and someone suggested Margate which is a cool town on the east coast. He never left and is now one of the top property developers in the area.

When I asked why he chose to live here he said that the only difference between Margate and the Ventura, California, area was that everything is ten times cheaper and we all drive on the wrong side of the road otherwise they are the same. Go figure. I feel less bad about living here, but damn I HAVE to relocate to the coast. The riding is excellent and gas is cheap. I’m thinking about inviting some of my e-mail buddies to come over to escape the winter over there. When my bikes are done there are a few dudes in the States I’m definitely going to convince to make the trip.

A lot of guys from the US have been very good to me, sending me parts and stuff at no cost at all, which I really appreciate. Who said bikers are bad dudes?

I just had a look at Ralph’s board tracker. This guy makes me want to give up what I’m doing and try something else. Geez, he’s going to make some serious waves and send a lot of builders scurrying for cover. It’s perfect. I thought the red bobber he did for the giveaway was the business but now fu?.He finished 26th in that AMD show? Who was judging, the blind?

I’ve bent your ear for too long and I’m going to look at the wheels and sprotor caliper I just received from John Koster at Scooters in Florida. He’s the only dude I know who gives service, good prices, quality and most of all the correct parts. Thank God for the internet and sites like Bikernet and Club Chopper. Without you guys I would be nowhere.
