The old module was removed from the timing cover to expose what you see below.

 

The new Crane module was then put in place as shown.

 

You’ll notice that this ignition system has the module located right on the timing sensor pickup. This is a littledifferent from the OEM setup which normally has the module detached from the sensor in a different location.The advantage of the remotely located module is that it can be replaced a little easier than this one. You only needto unplug and unbolt it to replace it with another one. The factory likes this because it makes installation of their’Screamin’ Eagle’ line a little easier for the average wrench. Many custom builders prefer the setup you seehere, because it’s one less piece of shit to hang off the bike somewhere else.

Once the module/pickup combo was put into place, it was time to read the instructions provided with the module forproper setup.
