BIKER’S CHOICE REPS ATTEND S&S? TRAINING– LA CROSSE, WI (December 8, 2006) S&S Cycle announces that Biker’s Choice has completed Distributor Product Training at the S&S Dealer Training & Certification Facility in La Crosse, Wisconsin on December 7-8, 2006. Biker’s Choice sent 18 road reps to participate in this specially designed training course for distributor representatives.

Distributor Product Training is modeled after the certification training offered to S&S dealers from around the globe. This 2-day course gives the distributor representatives an overview of Proven Performance? S&S engines, components, maintenance, and a feel for the level of expert instruction that dealers receive during the standard certification courses offered. Reps receive a complete set of service manuals and other material to give them valuable resources after they complete the training.

The class was fantastic for the 18 road representatives that we have here – they are definitely learning a lot,” said Scott Hakins, Director of Biker’s Choice. “Getting to know the inside people at S&S and the all-around learning about the industry by being at this facility has been excellent. Everybody has learned valuable information to help drive sales of S&S products. As a result of being here, and seeing the quality of education first hand, I’m also going to send our technical staff to a future session so they can benefit from this training too. The information about fuel injection and future EPA changes was probably the most important information that we learned this week,” concluded Hakins.

“It was a great pleasure for us to host the Biker’s Choice representatives for training this week,” said Brett Smith, president of S&S Cycle. “They were extremely enthusiastic and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. It’s certainly obvious that they have the level of commitment that we are looking for from our distributors to support our product from both a technical and sales perspective.”

The S&S Training & Certification Facility is proud to offer the latest in hand tools by Mac Tools and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment from SuperFlow for students to use during their training experience.

RAFFLE FOR ZIEN– Thought you guys might like to see a picture we are having enlarged, and will sell raffle tickets for at the banquet for Zien. This was taken a few years ago, during Rolling Thunder in Washington, D.C. Dave is standing and saluting the flag as he passes by, riding his bike around 30 mph. Dave is a Marine Corps, Viet Nam Veteran, and has logged over 840,000 miles on this bike. He did 31,000 miles in 31 days, and 100,000 in one year on this bike. We have some unique raffle items we will be selling tickets for at the event, including some side covers like the ones you can see on his bike in the picture, which proclaim, Pro God, Pro Gun, Pro Motorcycle, Pro Fun, etc. Also, an American flag that he had on the bike, which he removed because it was getting too tattered.

He signed this, with 345,000 miles logged on the bike and flag at the time. Everyone attending the event will also get a personalized “Don’t Tread On Me” flag, signed by Dave just for this event. Thought you’d like to see this picture. The event will celebrate Dave’s involvement in biker’s and veteran’s rights for over three decades. He’s also a proponent of concealed carry, but we’re going to stick to bikers and veterans for this one, because it’s a natural fit. OFFICERS BIKE CHASE?– I am seeing a increase in motorcycle riders being charged in the death of Law Enforcement Personnel who pursue them in high speed chases. Officers I have talked to said they enjoy the chases. The chases increase the danger to other motorist and prolongs the danger to all. Law enforcement vehicles blow out tires and lose control of their vehicles for numerous reasons then they want to blame other people for their actions.

I have long heard the statement you can’t outrun the radio. Why are they not doing that instead of Adding to the already dangerous situation of chasing someone for speeding? Get a plate number and get him later. But do not endanger others with wild unnecessary chases.

NEW YORK: Man who led trooper on deadly chase found guilty– SYRACUSE – A 21-year-old man was convicted Wednesday of driving a motorcycle at more than 100 mph and leading a state trooper on a chase that ended with the trooper crashing into a tree and dying. An Onondaga County Court jury deliberated 91/2 hours to find James Carncross guilty of aggravated criminally negligent homicide and reckless driving in the death of Trooper Craig Todeschini. Carncross was acquitted of aggravated second-degree manslaughter. Judge William Walsh scheduled sentencing for Jan. 10. Carncross faces a possible sentence of five to 20 years. The criminally negligent homicide charge required jurors to determine that Carncross failed to perceive the risk of his conduct in causing the death of a law enforcement officer. To convict Carncross of aggravated manslaughter, the jury had to find that he consciously disregarded the risk of his conduct.

Todeschini, 25, of Geddes, was killed April 23 when he crashed his patrol sport utility vehicle into a tree in the hamlet of Pompey Hill as he was rounding a curve in pursuit of a sport-style motorcycle about 15 miles south of Syracuse. According to testimony in the six-day trial, both vehicles were traveling nearly 100 mph during the seven-mile chase over a hilly, winding two-lane country highway.

Robert Amchir, tough guy with a soft heart– He was a biker with a tough-guy demeanor, who showed his love for sick kids by organizing a massive, toy-laden motorcycle parade and fundraiser every year just before the holidays. For Davie resident Robert Amchir, this Sunday’s Christmas Toys in the Sun Run, a traffic-stopping entourage of 30,000 motorcycles, was just another way of drawing attention to his favorite cause. But after spending years raising money for kids with cancer, Mr. Amchir was struck with the disease himself, and died on Wednesday at Memorial West in Pembroke Pines. He was 67.

“I still can’t believe he’s gone. In my mind, there is going to be a big empty space [on Sunday]. I will miss him. I loved him,” said a shaken Jackie Johnstone, director of annual giving for the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation, the primary beneficiary of the toy run for the past seven years. Since the toy run’s start 19 years ago, it has raised $6.5 million and collected more than $20 million worth of toys, his daughter-in-law Debbie Amchir said. In 1987, Mr. Amchir created the event by organizing an array of motorcycle club activities into one run, which started with 700 participants and grew to more than 30,000, she said.

Motorcyclists who participate in Sunday’s toy run will wear memorial patches in honor of Mr. Amchir, Debbie Amchir said. Mr. Amchir was admitted to the hospital on Nov. 14, his birthday, with a toothache, only to discover he was suffering from leukemia, she said. The toy run, which ties up traffic for about three hours on Interstates 95 and 595, kicks off at 10 a.m. on Sunday. It starts at the Pompano Harness Track in Pompano Beach, and ends at Markham Park in Sunrise.

Rick Case, owner of Rick Case Honda and a primary toy run sponsor, said he admired Mr. Amchir’s dedication to children. 0 Case said Mr. Amchir approached him five years ago to be lead sponsor of the toy run. “I would do almost anything he asked me for what he has done for thousands and thousands of kids,” Case said. “He was just an unbelievable person.”

A former New York City police officer who moved to South Florida almost 30 years ago, Mr. Amchir ran his own business making novelty and DOT-approved motorcycle helmets, Debbie Amchir said. He was national president of the Wings of Gold Motorcycle Club and presided over more than 30 motorcycle organizations as head of the South Florida Presidents Council, an umbrella group for motorcycle clubs. His philanthropic efforts earned him the USA Presidential Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2006, the Humanitarian Award from the town of Davie in 2004, and the Spirit of Healing Award from Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital recently named its pediatric trauma center the “South Florida Presidents Council of Motorcycle Clubs and Organizations Pediatric Trauma Center” after receiving $1 million from Mr. Amchir’s organization, Johnstone said. The hospital’s Conine Clubhouse, where parents of sick children can stay for free, also received $300,000, she said. Said longtime friend Jim Kleinrichert, who owns the Ark restaurant in Davie: “He said the other day before he died that his life has been about the kids over there.” Mr. Amchir is survived by his wife Donna; three sons, David of Tamarac, Donald of Margate and Daniel of Lauderhill; a brother, Mel of Sunrise; and two grandchildren. A viewing will be held tonight at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South, in Fort Lauderdale, with services on Friday.

CELEBRATION?–A man and his wife are dining at a table in a plush restaurant, and the husband keeps staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sits alone at a nearby table. The wife asks, “Do you know her?” “Yes,” sighs the husband, “She’s my ex-girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up seven years ago, and I hear she hasn’t been sober since.” “My God!” says the wife, “Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?”
