Here's the strangest find of the year. This is an original custom from the '70s in an original Denver Frame. The owner recently died and his wife is escaping memories, in bad health, while trying to find peace in the desert. It breaks her heart, but she's selling everything. “I told my husband I will build a glass case for it in the house,” Brenda Cofflin said.

Kenny Cofflin built this chopper originally in 1976. It was painted several times and drifted from one incarnation to another as it was featured in six domestic chopper mags including the original Iron Horse and Street Choppers mags featured in these shots.

Also included in Tim's photos are images of the tech chart Kenny filled out for the editors. “He wrote that it cost $6,500 to build this custom in the seventies,” Brenda said.
She spoke to Tim from Negotiable parts about selling it. Tim hopes to ride the bike to the Easyriders Show this weekend in Pomona (January 10, 11, 2009), put it on display and hook a buyer.

Kenny came down with MS in 1961 and by '88 he could no longer ride, so the bike was garaged. “But he never gave up or quit tinkering with bikes and his race cars,” Brenda said.

There you have it, found in a garage, a 1972 shiny chunk of custom motorcycle history, and it's for sale for a measly $12,500, through Tim at Negotiable Parts (951) 536-7413. You couldn't buy the parts to build this bike for twelve grand.
