Bauman Takes Over SuperTwins Series Points Lead After Four Races
Rick Ware Racing/Parts Plus/Latus Motors rider Briar Bauman raced a Harley-Davidson® XG750R motorcycle to his second consecutive Mission AFT SuperTwins victory of the season on Saturday evening at the Memphis Shades Ventura Short Track presented by Law Tigers event at Ventura, California. The win puts Bauman into the early-season SuperTwins series points lead. He is three points clear of Estenson Racing Yamaha rider Dallas Daniels, who finished second at Ventura. KTM rider Jarod VanDerkooi finished third, just ahead of fourth-place Mission/Roof Systems/Harley-Davidson rider Brandon Robinson.
“I’m proud of everyone on this Rick Ware Racing team,” said Bauman following the victory. “We’re just digging on this XG750R. I’m still so green on the bike. We’re still putting one foot in front of the other, and Dallas has an incredible motorcycle and he’s an incredible racer. He’s heir to the throne, but I have worn the crown a few times, and I’m going to do my job and try to get it back.”
Daniels won his heat race to claim pole position for the SuperTwins main event on the choppy quarter-mile Ventura Raceway oval. Bauman qualified fifth and started from the second row. Daniels led at the green flag as Bauman used a great start to vault up to second place on the first lap. Bauman used a high line on the track to power past Daniels on lap 4 and immediately began to open a gap on the Yamaha rider. As Bauman opened a one-second lead, Daniels found himself in a battle for second place with VanDerkooi. A red flag at the four-minute mark stopped the race, giving Daniels and VanDerkooi a fresh shot at Bauman on the re-start, but the Harley-Davidson rider fought off their initial attacks and opened a lead that stretched to more than one second. At the finish Bauman led Daniels by 0.881 seconds, with VanDerkooi in third place just 0.193 behind Daniels.
After four of 16 rounds in the 2025 AFT Mission SuperTwins championship, Bauman leads with 84 points, followed by Daniels with 81 points. Robinson is in third place with 58 points.
The AFT Mission SuperTwins series returns to action May 3 for the Silver Dollar Short Track at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif.
