Bill Phillips Joins Board Of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Inc.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Inc. (SMRi) opens the new year by welcoming Sturgis native Bill Phillips as the newest board member to the organization's all-volunteer board. A prominent real estate developer in the Sturgis area, Phillips is excited to join the SMRi board and looks forward to helping the organization in its efforts to promote, grow and strengthen the Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally(TM) and provide a charitable return for the greater Sturgis area.

Phillips resides in Sturgis with his wife and two children, and puts an emphasis on family and community. "I love living here and enjoy everything Sturgis and the Black Hills have to offer." Phillips has traveled the world as a member of the Air National Guard, while still enlisted he decided to return to Sturgis after growing up here. He attended grade school and high school here, and later graduated from Black Hills State University in 1999 with a degree in administration. As a partner in The Real Estate Center of Sturgis since 2003, he has been involved in numerous real estate development projects within the Northern Black Hills area. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Northern Hills Realtor Association Board, where he served as a Sturgis area director. He also a partner in a local outfitting business, Empty Brass Outfitters, where he gets to share his passion for the outdoors.

As a member of SMRi's board of directors, Phillips looks forward to contributing to the board's efforts. He has supported for the community by being involved in a variety of area organizations and developments. He's no stranger to actively serving his community, including time as a Sturgis Chamber Board Member and as a member of the City of Sturgis Sign Ordinance Committee. He also enjoys giving back to youth in the community by sharing his love of the outdoors and sports. He is a Sturgis Little League coach and board member and a Sturgis youth basketball coach, as well as a Black Hills Area Instructor for Junior Achievement.
Given his experience and deep local roots, Phillips was an obvious choice to join SMRi.  "We are excited to welcome Phillips' expertise and home-grown take on serving Sturgis and its people." Said SMRi chairman, Dean Kinney.
