Happy Easter Goddamnit,
I’m suffering from Australian Jet Lag. But this Sunday Post will be hot, and next week we’ll post a ton of hot content. The Reman Process is off and running again. Bike features are lined up. Girls are waiting for back stage passes into the Cantina and I hope to start working on the Assalt Weapan.

If I can just sleep another 12 hours, I might be human again. Oh, and we’re going to post 5 contest winners a week and send them very cool care packages sponsored by Bikernet, 2Wheelers in Denvers, Daytona and Sturgis and Big Dog Motorcycles. It’s always free to enter the Bikernet door prize area, so get with the program.
Let’s hit the news:

CUSTOM CHROME EUROPE DEALERSHOW 2007– AMD European Championship of Custombike-Building. March 24th and 25th 2007, Phoenixhall, Mainz/Rhine/Germany.
Full House: The 2007 CUSTOM CHROME EUROPE DEALER SHOW exceeded everybody’s expectations both in terms of attending dealers, visitors and bikeshow-participants. The quality of the motorcycles exhibited blew everybody’s mind – as some 70+ never before seen custombikes premiered at what now is the most excelent bikeshow of europe.
Europe’s market leader in Customparts-Distribution again has teamed up their show with the AMD European Championship of Custombike-Building to create one of the best Custombike-Shows Europe has to offer. More than 110 awesome custombikes from all over the globe – this years line-up included entries from Russia, USA, Japan and Columbia (!!!) participated, competing for three tickets to the World Championship at Sturgis/South Dakota in August 2007 and prices worth no less than 30.000 ?. “The quality seen in these bikes is just incredible”, stated both Custom Chrome President Holger Mohr and AMD Show Organizer Robin Bradley. And the show will be remembered for the huge and high-class participation of east-european customizers, with Sapka Muvek from Hungary taking the European Championship to eastern Europe with his amazing “Time Machine.” If you ever thought how Jules Verne would have built a motorcycle – this was the answer! Runner-up “Art of Racer” won the jury with what might be remembered as the most compact Sportster ever: “Rock ?n’ Bike” was as “Bonsai” as a Sporty can be, with the frame running supertight around the “customized” engine block. 2nd runner-up came from France too, featuring a great tribute to the 1924 Pikes Peak Hillclimb Race: Riverside Motorcycles from Vallon Pont d’Arc named the unique handcrafted machine “The Crosser”. With a stunning new Bonneville theme bike “Goodwood”, Fred Krugger won 4th and the best german bike by TGS-Motorcycles, “Seppster” followed at 5th position.

The Custom Chrome Motorcycle class, based on the popular kitbikes, was won by TGS motorcycles with their entry “Helter Skelter” and the modified Harley was taken by storm by the US-build Young Chopper’s creation “P-Tang”, that is now owned by Numero Uno at Milano. Adding to the immense attraction of the show, both Jammer President Ed Martin and S&S President Brett Smith picked their favourite Top-3 bikes, backed up with very attractive prices including S&S 96 Cubic Inch engine, gearbox and exhaust system!
The Custom Chrome Europe Dealershow featured 21 european and 21 US Top-class manufacturers of V-Twin customparts, spareparts and accessories, answering to the dealers and the public, which can visit the show on Sunday. Several manufacturers offer seminars on their products, including S&S, Barnetts, Mikuni and Belt Drive Ltd.. A special seminar was focusing on the successful line of CUSTOM CHROME MOTORCYCLES.
This years ?Special Guests” included Indian Larry Legacy bike builder PAUL COX, world renowned Custombike photographer MICHAEL LICHTER, CCE designer and legendary bike-builder JOHN REED who left the show with new impressions and stunned by the variety of styles exhibited. Lichter, who was attending the meeting on invitation by Custom Chrome won the audience with his classic Sturgis Images and two slide shows. “We are looking forward to the 2007 season with great confidence,” said Holger Mohr, we have very interesting new products for all Twin Cam riders and our Custom Chrome Motorcycle line is running well.”

STROKERS DALLAS EXPANSION PLANS– Rick asked me to email you both some information about what’s going on around Strokers.
Things have been really crazy around here with all of the construction and expansion, but we’re nearing the end and things are really looking good. We moved our offices out of the showroom and into a nicer building next door, so that helped expand our showroom floor to better display all of Rick’s customs. Our parts room now has a second floor, which means a lot more space for us to carry a larger inventory. Outside, we moved the stage and added a lot more motorcycle parking. We are also planning to build another outdoor bar to accommodate the new space. I have attached the press release we sent out about the expansion along with a few pictures so that you can get a few more details about the changes we’ve made.

Our Spring Fling went extremely well. We were a little worried when it rained on Friday, but it was clear and sunny on Saturday and the crowds poured right in. Even with all of our new space and extra parking, we were still packed and had to block off the road for extra parking. We had at least 6,000 people in here on Sunday and it made for an awesome party. Debbi Davids, Miss Sturgis 2005 & 2006, was here with us all weekend, too. She worked as a celebrity beer tub girl and signed copies of her special edition Playboy issues. I also attached a few pictures from the party, including some of Debbi.
With our new expansion comes a need for more help. I don’t know if you can mention this on your site, but we are looking for a few good hands to help in our parts department as well as some experienced service technicians. Anyone interested can email –Meghan DeFreeuw Hope all you bunny freaks have a Happy Easter. Authorized Rentals and Tours, Rapid City Regional Airport, Black Hills Central Reservations and the Historic Hotel Alex Johnson. The “Win a Free Ride” sweepstakes is a method utilized by the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Snap-on, a Sturgis Motorcycle Rally title sponsor since 2001, to grow their shared database of motorcycle enthusiasts. This database is utilized throughout the year by both organizations as a primary communication tool in which information and updates on the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and, or, Snap-on’s promotions and new products, can be directly channeled, via internet email blasts, to people who have expressed interest in receiving periodic correspondence. According Ronda Oman Gusinsky, President of OutSource Solutions, Inc., the Official Sponsorship Agent for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, “the life-style survey in which registrants participate in order to register for the “Win a Free Ride” sweepstakes provides the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with valuable information on its attendees. We have captured thousands of names in a very market specific database creating a direct communication channel, via registrants’ email addresses, to thousands of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally enthusiasts. And, more importantly, we’ve gathered key information on our attendees, their leisure activities, buying habits, future purchases, travel patterns, etc., all of which prove to be invaluable when speaking to potential Sturgis Motorcycle Rally sponsors.” The database was developed through a partnership agreement between the City of Sturgis/Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Snap-on Tools. Snap-on’s e-Business division in San Jose, CA, developed the customized software for the registration system and associated database, as well as provides technical expertise and support. The registration system debuted at the 2004 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and each year during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, survey information is collected on-site through on-line computer terminals positioned at various venues through Sturgis. The “Win a Free Ride” sweepstakes is a newer component, gathering registrations on-site at the Harley-Davidson? New Product Show during Daytona’s Bike Week, as well as on-line on www.sturgismotorcyclerally.com, www.snapon.com or www.TravelSD.com. Al Biland, Senior Vice President and President, Snap-on Tools Company, says, “The Sturgis database is a great way for us to reach motorcycle enthusiasts with exciting new product and other information of interest to them. We have found the people on the database to be highly responsive and interested in maintaining a relationship with Snap-on.” For further information and updates on the 2007 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, August 6 – August 12, 2007, visit www.sturgismotorcyclerally.com, or phone 605/720-0800. EASTER ROASTING TIME–In Australia Good Friday is a National Holiday and even the Atheists don’t eat anything but fish. They don’t even know why, but they’re suspicious that they might burn in hell, if they grab a hamburger on Good Friday. Everything was closed.

Sure we were on vacation but we still hauled a set of pure touring D&D dual exhaust and a set of front Performance Machine disc brakes to Australia for Dr. Glenn Priddle’s ’97 Road King. That’s the least I could do. He bought the damn thing so I’d have something to ride. With 60,000 miles on the clock and lots of flat black Bandit paint, it ran as sweet as a dream, until the carb caught fire.

We fixed her up with new parts and rode all over the coast and even had lunch at a Buddhist temple while seeking enlightenment. I prayed for the Assalt Weapan, then we peeled down the mountain. I’ll report more during the week.
Here’s the deal for the near future. I’ll wrap up the tech on the Harley-Davidson ReMan process, put the Australian Performance Machine and D&D exhaust techs together, pray in front of Buddha for Assalt weapan parts, write the story behind the Australian Sand Drags event and begin to publish a couple of Antique bike features and a tribute feature on Joe’s Garage, antique motorcycle collection. Ah, I left the best for last. We have a feature from Cycle Source on a rider who rides a Softail across the Middle East.
It’s all coming to you on Bikernet. Here’s a last minute addition. I found out today that Wil Phillips, of True Track Fame, passed away and his funeral was on the 9th of April. He will be sorely missed, as he was a major member of the 5-Ball Racing Team. Wil’s longtime friend, Ronnie, is planning to take over the True Track business, but give him some time to settle in.
Ride Forever,
–Bandit
