Kerry Alter, co-team owner of Alter/Bivins Land Speed Racing, announced today the signing of 20-year-old drag racer, Dystany Spurlock, as an additional rider for their reconfigured team effort to set multiple land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats during the 2012 BUB Speed Trials.
An independent racing team sponsored by Copper Services, Alter/Bivins will field three different riders this year, including Kerry Alter, Dystany Spurlock, and Anthony DiNobile. The team riders will pilot three different bikes for multiple new records; a 2010 BMW S 1000 RR Superbike, a 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa 1300, and a 2003 Aprilia.
“Kerry and I are very excited to be working with Dystany Spurlock, who already has several major racing accomplishments at the young age of 20 and is already a racing star,” said team co-owner Julian Bivins. “I have not been this optimistic about our opportunities to set multiple new land speed records since I started racing at Bonneville in 2007,” added Bivins.
“We have an excellent new crew this year which consists of Don Alexander, Loretta Michelle Flores, and Lori & Rudy Flores. Their talent, combined with sponsorship funding by good friend Kari Sanders at Copper Services, we expect our best results to date at Bonneville,” added co-team owner/driver Alter.
