Hey,
This is a strange one. I’m a little lost and you’ll get it. I just had my computer rebuilt with the latest operating system. It brings up several factors. First, it’s new and different, and I must adapt. I’m on a Mac. Second, the latest money making ruse is to cajole you into signing up for something that forces you to buy other products or systems.
It’s not enough that you spend your hard earned cash on a new widget, but then they hit you with something extra and maybe you need to pay for it monthly. I had a guy convince me that it would be the way to go with our Cantina memberships. I’m glad I pulled out of that. I want it clean and simple for our members.
So, in this case operating system upgrades come once in a while, then they charged for one and to force you to buy it, they threatened you over and over until you succumbed. I have now given in. Not sure how I feel about the new model. So far it’s sorta lackluster. The graphics are a step down. We’ll see. Let’s hit the Sunday Post.

Jason Havey appointed CEO of Brass Balls Cycles Amidst Large Scale Financial & Operational Restructuring. |
Brass Balls Cycles (d/b/a Darwin Motorcycles) today announced a restructuring agreement with an Austin, TX based investment team in order to better service customers and generate long-term sustainable growth for the company. The deal, which includes a working capital loan with undisclosed terms will provide financial stability as well as the implementation of operational changes. Jason Havey, current COO of Onnit Labs, an internationally recognized health and wellness brand, has been appointed as CEO of Brass Balls Cycles. Founder Dar Holdsworth remains active in his role as president & chief designer. The two-time American Motorcycle Dealer (AMD) World Champion of Custom Bike Building (Production Manufacturer) winner plans to use the resources to maintain the company’s industry leading build quality, while improving the manufacturing process for speed, efficiency, and flexibility in delivery. Commenting on the restructuring, newly-appointed CEO Jason Havey said, “Brass Balls Cycles has every intangible quality of a successful company: an incredible product, a great following, and a passion for building world championship caliber motorcycles. “What we lacked was working capital. This, along with the addition of an experienced management team was addressed in this restructuring.” In addition to continued excellence in custom building, Brass Balls Cycles will also be expanding its existing line of parts and accessories to provide additional options and value for motorcycle enthusiasts. Brass Balls Cycles Founder Dar Holdsworth added, “Motorcycles are more than just a machine to their owners. From the beginning, we have wanted to instill the care in both design and manufacturing befitting of a family member. Whether it has been a charity bike for the armed services, a bespoke customer bike build, or parts and modifications for the hobbyist, we pour everything into our motorcycles. “With the support of the new management team, I am looking forward to focusing on what we do best… building Uncompromising American Motorcycles.” For further inquiries, contact media@darwinmotorcycles.com. |

LUCAS Oil Products Octane Booster–
Cycle Solutions Inc. is an authorized Lucas Motorcycle Oil Pit stop that does 24+ events a year. Here’s a Lucas testimonial from Cycle Solutions: We exclusively use the Lucas motorcycle lubricants because they are the best on the market to promote longer engine life and their ability to reduce heat. We also use their octane booster to aid in better fuel burn.
While at Daytona Bike Week 2016, we had a bike cross our dyno that had a case of “bad gas” so to speak. This is not unusual. We have many motorcycles that come to us that are suffering from detonation issues. Especially at large motorcycle events when everyone is buying up the premium fuels in a given location for a 2 week or longer period and the supply of premium fuel drops and all that is left is the premium from the bottom of the fuel pit.
We always have the Lucas Octane Booster available on our dyno because we constantly see bikes with detonation problems. They are either caused by bad gas, poor tuning or possibly ignition issues.
We recently experience a bike with very bad detonation issues. The red line on our chart showed the first pull on the dyno and the results are all over the place. The blue line on the graph was after we add Lucas Octane Booster and did the second pull after running the motorcycle on the dyno for about a mile or so, so the fuel could mix.
Not only did the Lucas Octane Boost smooth out this bikes detonation issues, it actually provided more horsepower to boot!
We recommend that everyone keep a few bottles of this product with their motorcycle for when you fill up with bad gas. If you want better fuel mileage, lubricate your upper cylinders, prolong the life of your pumps, injectors, carburetors and gain a little horsepower, use this product quick. This product will not damage oxygen sensors. It is safe for all oxygen sensors, catalytic converters and turbos!
This product can be purchased in a single 2 oz size or a larger 15 oz bottle. For those that want to use this product on a regular basis we recommend you buy the 2 oz by the case or purchase one of the 2oz bottles along with the larger 15 oz bottles. That way you can use the smaller bottle as a measuring device by pouring octane boost from the larger bottle into the 2 oz one and also save the bucks. This product is available from our show truck or online at www.cyclesolutions.com.

FREE ATOMIC BOB, HIS FAMILY NEEDS HIM– They moved Bob to Belmont Correctional Institution from Lorain Correctional Institution. Lorain was a terrible place where he was locked down 21 out of 24 hours a day in a small cell with a bunk bed, toilet, and a roomie.
Belmont has him in a bunk that is in an open room and they moved him to the lowest level of security because he is not a threat. There he can walk around freely and go outside which is nice.
He has been approved by the Ohio Parole Board and the prison to go to a halfway house. However, the judge that put him in jail has to sign off on it as well, we are waiting for him. He’s had the paperwork for only a couple days. It may take a week or two.
Once he does sign off, Bob will move from his location, which is 2 hours away, to one within 45 minutes of our home. In the halfway house they will let him wear his own clothing, have a car, and drive home to work.
We are very frustrated because we have a list of work to complete and he is just sitting there. It has really put things in perspective. Right now we just wait…..as soon as he is moved to the halfway house I’ll shoot you a message. My hope was to have him in the halfway house and working sometime in April, but it could be May.
Thank you again for everything!

BIKERNET WEEKLY GUN NUT REPORT– California: Coalition for Civil Liberties Announces Two More Organizations Opposing Lt. Governor Newsom’s Initiative.
Yesterday, Wednesday, March 30, 2016, the Coalition for Civil Liberties announced that The Western State Sheriffs’ Association and the Law Enforcement Action Network (LEAN) have officially opposed Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom’s gun control ballot initiative misnamed the “Safety for All Act of 2016.” The Coalition for Civil Liberties Official announcement is below. The two organizations should be commended for taking this position.
Gavin Newsom is looking to give criminals a break and people are taking notice. Last week, the editorial board of the Orange County Register wrote about his “fancifully titled” proposition, and the next day, the newspaper published an opinion piece by Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Michele Hanisee (a co-chair for the Coalition for Civil Liberties).
Today, two more important organizations voiced their opposition to Newsom’s ballot initiative. The Western State Sheriffs’ Association represents Sheriffs and their command staff across 15 states. It’s a big deal to see an organization with such a huge constituency paying close attention to what happens in one state, and it says a lot about the danger our law enforcement officials see in Newsom’s plan.
Also critical of Newsom’s initiative is the Law Enforcement Action Network (LEAN), a national non-profit organization that fights against policies that favor criminals at the expense of the police and the public. LEAN’s advocacy on behalf of our police officers ensures critical decisions affecting our safety are made by frontline officers and prosecutors – not self-serving politicians like Newsom.
Newsom’s campaign continues to use scare tactics to confuse well-intentioned Californians into gun control measures that don’t do anything to stop crime or terrorism. We need your help to set the record straight. Please join us by:
Donating to the campaign. Newsom is collecting checks from his Hollywood celebrity friends, some as big as $250,000. Help us catch up with a donation.

QUICK, OPEN THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY– “Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia!”
A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington, DC. Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls down the window and asks, “What’s going on?”
“Terrorists have kidnapped the entire US Congress, and they’re asking for a $100 million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they are going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire. We are going from car to car, collecting donations.”
“How much is everyone giving, on an average?” the driver asks.
The man replies, “Roughly a gallon.”

BIKERS FOR TRUMP– rolled in to Wisconsin and upset some anti-Trump protestors that think the first amendment isn’t for all citizens. They heard the ROLLING THUNDER coming from afar and dang….their shouts just weren’t loud enough to earn their George Soro’s cash for the day!
Bikers for Trump announced on their Facebook page that “Patriotic Bikers, from all across the United States are planning to show up at ALL future TRUMP rallies to make sure that any paid agitator protesters don’t take away Mr. Trump’s right to speak.
“Or interfere with the rights of Trump supporters to safely attend. WE SHALL NOT BE SILENCED!”
I SAY THANK YOU TO ALL PATRIOTIC BIKERS! It’s about time Americans unite against the evil tactics paid for by establishment puppet masters. We all have rights and a constitution! It’s time to stop the corruption and misguided violence brought on from establishment ORGANIZED thugs.
Fear not all good Americans, for they come in peace with just a roar of thunder to remind protestors that if they want to bring it on- it came and it’s here. That seems to be all it took to clear a safe path for those wanting to attend a political rally.

Corruption in Government is out of hand and it appears Florida is taking a small step to slow it down– A Brevard take on winners and losers of the week
EDITORIAL
Thumbs up to Gov. Rick Scott, for signing an anti-corruption bill championed for almost two years by FLORIDA TODAY. The bill ends unusual barriers in state law that have prevented prosecutors and attorneys from convicting corrupt officials and contractors, even in seemingly clear-cut cases. Thank you to Brevard County leaders who sponsored, lobbied for and passed resolutions endorsing the bill: State Rep. Ritch Workman, Brevard-Seminole State Attorney Phil Archer, the Brevard County Commission, Brevard County School Board, the cities of Satellite Beach and Indian Harbour Beach, the League of Women Voters, the Brevard Republican Executive Committee and Melbourne attorney and model-bill author Michael Kahn. And thanks to the Brevard legislative delegation, all of whom voted “yes.”

A FEW WORDS FROM THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAIN— In Buddhism, which emphasizes humanity, life-releaseing also includes “releasing people,” which is to give others a way out. Working for the happiness of others by giving confidence, joy, hope, and convenience is proactive life-releasing. This also includes when we help others find a way out of difficult situations, provide relief, aid, and give others causes and conditions.

MELBOURNE POLICE DEPARTMENT–
Key sergeant drank while on duty.
The former Melbourne police sergeant who supervised the Special Investigations Unit got drunk on the job, made lewd sexual comments during squad meetings, and restricted detectives from conducting drug investigations, an internal investigation report shows.
What’s more, higher-ranking police officials had been warned about his conduct for years — revealing a “culture of looking the other way” within the department, City Manager Mike McNees said.
The department’s investigation concluded that Van Gilder violated 10 departmental policies:
“The information provided in this investigation is very disturbing and has the potential to erode the public trust,” Police Chief Steve Mimbs wrote in a statement provided to FLORIDA TODAY.
“This behavior does not represent the values of the men and women of the Melbourne Police Department,” Mimbs stated.
As a result of the investigation, Mimbs stated that he has directed:
» Comprehensive changes to departmental policies regarding undercover investigations.
» A formal staff inspection of the Special Investigations Unit.
» A review of citizen drug complaints highlighted in the investigation.
» Additional training for all supervisors.
The 317-page report includes sworn statements and summarized testimony from 24 current and former law enforcement officers. Among the incidents described:
–» During a two-day January 2015 operation investigating illegal narcotics sales in downtown Melbourne, Van Gilder made unprofessional comments in reference to females’ bodies and clothing as they walked by; was visibly intoxicated during a debriefing; and drove away in his city-leased vehicle.
–» During a 2 a.m. operation to install a GPS unit on a vehicle behind a Palm Bay facility, Van Gilder drove up in a city leased vehicle — and he was swaying,
“unusually animated” and smelled of alcohol.
He rode with a lieutenant for the rest of the operation.
In January, two of Van Gilder’s Special Investigations Unit detectives were suspended without pay for buying and drinking alcohol during an undercover prostitution operation.
Detective Eric Gould was suspended for 40 hours without pay, removed from the unit, and reassigned to road patrol. Detective Ron Anderson was suspended for 80 hours without pay.
A Coastal Florida Police Benevolent Association attorney represented Van-Glider during the investigation. The Coastal Florida PBA also represents Gould and Anderson. Mike Scudiero, union spokesman, called the Special Investigations Unit “critical” to Melbourne police operations.
“We’d like to help the chief get that unit running the way we like it. It’s time to turn the page,” Scudiero said.
“I don’t think anyone can fault the chief for wanting to thoroughly examine all of this. I hope that once it’s all said and done, and you’ve got different people pointing different directions, that there’s no hostile conclusions reached. I don’t want anyone to overreact and try to blow up the entire department or the entire unit,” he said.
The investigation shows that VanGilder lied to his chain of command and “severely hampered” efforts to investigate citizens’ complaints of illegal narcotics sales in high-crime neighborhoods. Detectives said VanGilder cited safety concerns and reluctance to deal with unidentified suspects, among other reasons.
Also, the investigation shows that Van Gilder’s fellow officers had complained about him to superiors as far back as August 2009. That’s when an unidentified officer hand-delivered a letter to a police commander detailing VanGilder’s “abusive, insulting, and degrading behavior.”
“(His) offensive jokes, slurs, epithets, name calling, threats, intimidation, ridicule, mockery, insults, and put-downs are interfering with work performance,” the officer wrote.
Moreover, an unidentified sergeant testified that he had previously spoken with a lieutenant and four commanders about VanGilder’s improper conduct…

California: Anti-Gun Bills Now Moving in the Senate– On Tuesday, April 5, the Senate Committee on Public Safety has scheduled a hearing at 9:00 AM at the State Capitol in the John L. Burton Hearing Room (4203). The below anti-gun bills are expected to be heard. Please contact the members of the Committee and urge them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 894 and Senate Joint Resolution 20.
SB 894 would require a victim of a crime to report to local Law Enforcement the theft of a firearm within an arbitrary time requirement of five days and the recovery of the firearm within 48 hours. Governor Brown has twice vetoed similar legislation stating, “I was not convinced that criminalizing the failure to report a lost or stolen firearm would improve identification of gun traffickers or help law enforcement disarm people prohibited from possessing guns. I continue to believe that responsible people report the loss or theft of a firearm and irresponsible people do not.”
SJR 20 would urge the Congress of the United States to lift a prohibition against publicly funded scientific research on the causes of “gun violence”and its effects on public health. The basic point is that this bill isn’t about problem solving through science; it’s cloaking a pre-existing anti- gun political agenda in the mantle of science.
Please forward this alert to your family, friends, fellow gun owners and sportsman and urge them to take action also.
Update on March 29, Committee hearings.
AB 2340 failed to pass the Assembly Public Safety Committee. AB 2340 would exempt a person holding a valid license to carry a concealed firearm and who is also protected by a domestic violence protective order, from both the school zone and the university concealed carry prohibitions.
AB 2508 has been rescheduled to be heard on Tuesday, April 5 by the Assembly Public Safety Committee. AB 2508 would allow handguns that match the original intent of the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale (the “Roster”) to be reconsidered for the Roster.
AB 1776 unanimously passed the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Material Committee. AB 1776 would clarify that “disposal” of hazardous waste does not include the onsite movement of soil at an active outdoor shooting range if this movement is done to facilitate the removal and recycling of spent ammunition materials existing on the site as a result of the normal use of the shooting range and the residual soil is replaced within the area from which it was originally removed.
This bill will allow organizations to use federal best practices regarding lead recycling at training facilities without conflicting with state law.

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Derek White reportedly was arrested Wednesday as part of what authorities are say is the biggest tobacco-smuggling bust in North American history.
Sgt. Daniel Thibaudeau of the Quebec Provincial Police told NBC Sports that White, 45, is believed to have been a high-ranking member of the smuggling operation. It centered on purchasing tobacco leaf in North Carolina and transporting it across the border for redistribution in Canada. Profits from the tobacco were used to buy cocaine, police said.
White, a member of the Mohawk tribe in Kahnawake, Quebec, turned himself in to police Wednesday after learning a warrant had been issued for his arrest, NBC Sports reported. He faces seven charges related to smuggling.
The sting operation targeted 70 residences and businesses in Quebec and Ontario and involved nearly 700 law enforcement officers across Canada and the United States. Police said they seized 52,800 kilograms of tobacco, 836 kilograms of cocaine, 21 kilograms of methamphetamine and 35 pounds of marijuana.
Almost 60 arrests were made in all. White has started in 22 Xfinity races since 2012. Last year, he became the first Native American driver to race in the Sprint Cup Series, competing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

KAWASAKI, So Far, So Fast–
In March 1973, three Kawasaki Z1s and a small team of riders set 46 FIM and AMA speed records.
Priced at just $1,895, the 1973 903cc Z1 was both the world’s first air-cooled, DOHC inline four production motorcycle – and the world’s most powerful production bike. To prove its strength, Kawasaki aimed equally high by chasing the world’s toughest speed record – 24 hours on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway.
On Wednesday, March 13, 1973, eight riders, mechanics from Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMC), officials, equipment and three Z1s arrived at Daytona. Two featured lowered handlebars, Goodyear racing tires and heavy-duty shocks for the 24-hour attempt, while the third bike sported limited engine mods and a full fairing in pursuit of one-lap, 10-kilometer and 100-kilometer closed-course records.
That afternoon, Team Kawasaki rider Yvon Duhamel readied himself for the one-lap record attempt. He accelerated the faired Z1 onto the tri-oval, took a single warmup lap, and then howled to a new record of 160.288 mph. The celebration was jubilant but brief, as the next morning Duhamel climbed back aboard the special Z1 and launched a standing-start attempt on the 10-km and 100-km world records. Barely 26 minutes later, the Kawasaki had done it again, covering 10 kilometers at 150.845 mph and 100 kilometers at 141.439 mph. Three for three so far!
But the toughest challenge was still ahead. On Thursday morning, March 14, the 24-hour record run began, with team riders Art Baumann, Cliff Carr, Gary Nixon, Masahiro Wada and Hurley Wilvert, journalists Cook Neilson and John Weed, and KMC’s Bryon Farnsworth targeting a steady 120 mph to grab the record while minimizing tire wear.
The riders rotated through 150-mile shifts, stopping for fuel every 37 minutes and new tires every six hours, thanks to quick work by KMC mechanics Jeff Shetler and Randy Davis. Finally, the late winter sunset arrived at 6:15 PM, leading riders into an inky Florida night. “At 130 mph it’s difficult to stay within the lines,” Farnsworth admitted.
Despite thick fog and one broken chain, both bikes raced through the night until finally, just after 9:30 AM on Friday, March 15, Kawasaki clinched the 24-hour record with the leading Z1 going 2,630.402 miles at 109.602 mph, beating the previous record by nearly 20 mph. In all, the three-day effort claimed 46 AMA and FIM performance records – setting an enormous benchmark for the Z1 in the process.

The title? “So Far. So Fast.” Perfect.

She spoke for almost an hour about her plans for increasing every Native American’s present standard of living. Afterwards, the Tribes presented her with a plaque inscribed with her new Native American name, “Walking Eagle”, she proudly accepted. After Hillary left, a news reporter asked the chief how they came to select this name. They explained that “Walking Eagle” is the name given to a bird so full of shit that it can no longer fly.

DiCE Magazine
If you have gearhead tendencies and want to see the sort of one off bikes that are being put together in the basements, garages, and woodsheds around the world. . . the bikes that are fondled by the wild-eyed and sleepless. . .then here you are on the right path to two-wheeled glory, before your annoying neighbor comes roaring up like he just came off the set of ‘Scorpio Rising: part 2’ and tries to talk to you about how cool his new factory endorsed riding jacket is.
THIS COMING WEEK WATCH OUT— It’s going to be wild again. I have new evidence in my fight with the city for my building. I received a letter from a neighbor as proof of residency. What bullshit. We’ve proved this numerous times. The boss from Building and Safety reported that the guy who filed the complaint left the area.
I keep pushing forward whether the city likes me or not. I’m working on an historic mural on the side of the building, but my tagger artist team needed a scissor lift to make the project a breeze. I found one. Just need to repair the battery charger and buy new batteries. That’s a start.
Our first 5-Ball Racing report will hit Bikernet and Bikernet Trikes in the next couple of days. See how they do it at Paughco.
Brass Balls Bobbers is also not dead and we will bring you a report this coming week.
Another tech is flying at us from the Brew Dude from Geno at Ol’ Skool Rodz. Hang on.
Rogue will feature the Daytona/Cycle Source/H-D/Bikernet/Editor’s Choice winner on Bikernet Baggers in the near future. Don’t miss it.
More features are headed at us, including one amazing scoot from Ken’s Factory. And if the Redhead leaves me alone for a couple of days I will attempt to bring you another Cantina chapter.
In the meantime, have a blast and ride safe, goddammit.
Ride Free Forever,
