AMAZING SUNDAY DIGITAL DISCOVERY–That’s George Hood’s hands holding the photo. The image of Eddie Ryan’s shop in San Pedro was taken right before the city tore the building down. A guy approached the city of San Pedro to buy the wall and keep it intact, but the city said “No”… Ultimately the wall was destroyed.
Ironically, the San Pedro city official that made the final decision to destroy the wall was killed a few days later in a tragic brick wall collapse at a Mongolian barbeque held to benefit the San Pedro Historical Society.
Sorry, I made the last part of the story up. It seemed to me there needed to be a just ending.
