SUNDAY POST PRE-BIKETOBERFEST REPORTS, BUELL RACING ACTION, GIRLS, DAVID MANN AND NEVADA HELMET LAW UNDER ATTACK

chris 0 - knuckle engine close

Hey, it rained last night. Just as we hammered on a 1926 window jam and changed our window order for the fourth time. It may have been the first time we experienced rain in the new headquarters. In Southern California rain’s a pain in the ass. The building held, the shop groaned and the ghetto blaster out back lit up, transformers started to scream and I slipped out back with a trash bag for insulation to un plug the bastard at 1:30 a.m. I survived but was electric in bed later. Let’s hit the news:

Skooter’s Blonde Files

Q: What did the blonde name her pet zebra?
A: Spot.

Q: Why did the blonde get so excited after she finished her jigsaw puzzle in only 6 months?
A: Because on the box it said From 2-4 years.

Q: Why can’t blondes put in light bulbs?
A: They keep breaking them pounding them into the sockets with their hammers.

Q: Why didn’t the blonde want a window seat on the plane?
A: She’d just blow dried her hair and she didn’t want it blown around too much.

Q: How do you make a blonde’s eyes twinkle?
A: Shine a flashlight in her ear.

Q: Did you hear about the blonde who shot an arrow into the air?
A: She missed.

FEMALE PRAYER:

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who’s not a creep,
One who’s handsome, smart and strong,
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who’ll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he’s gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won’t be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who’ll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to “How big is my behind?”
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.
Amen.

MALE PRAYER:
I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge
boobs who owns a liquor store – and a bass boat.
Amen

Lawsuit challenges constitutionality of Nevada helmet law

Two members of a California biker group are challenging Nevada’s motorcycle helmet law in federal court, saying the measure is unconstitutionally vague and impossible to follow.

Nevada’s law violates the due process clause of the 14th Amendment, said Kate Wells, a Santa Cruz, Calif., lawyer representing Steve Bianco and Richard Quigley, members of the group Bikers of Lesser Tolerance.

A ruling in the case could invalidate helmet laws in Nevada and elsewhere around the country, Wells told the Las Vegas Review-Journal for a Thursday report.

Another Sturgis Story Comin’–Maybe

Bandit, Never did finish the Stugis story (too much fun in the summertime in Florida) but appreciate your comments on what I sent. The Monster Garage show was great, I thought it was odd they never called you Bandit, though. Keep up the good work and work aside, you must be havin’ a blast. Sending a pic of Superbaby Austin my daughter’s son (my first Grand-dude). That daughter, a North Tampa Hooters girl, went to school the first day of kindergarten on the back of a Shovelhead.

Take care and ride safe.

Bikernet Caribbean Correspondent Special Report

Okay, here is the quick story: a good friend of many had a bad accident last week end. We know him as Bradley the Polisher, he owns a company in Texas called Hands Off Polishing. Here’s the deal, whatever you can do, or donate, art, signature cards (autographed) t-shirts, a funny unique items or part, not as much as parts and stuff per se, but something small that you would like to have. I mean anything.

So here’s the deal: I want to do an auction of these items may it be in my site or Bikernet, and the highest bidders will get the item and Bradley’s family the check. The small items and shirts will save shipping so they will get more money.

You can just let me know what you are willing to do and i will post it, all I’ll do is send you the shipping address of the winner…. all I need is a low res photo and description of what it is.

Then again, if you need stuff polished it can be sent to his shop and you can help them out that way. We are doing this since it will be some time before he gets back to the job, and we all know bills don’t wait for shit.

Thanks.

Agent Zebra recently submitted a full report on the art of launching a Biker Movie. It’s coming, but just last night he sent this e-mail, “Big new developments after a two meetings in as many days, one with a major star. I should do a tweak or two and add a “To be continued…” to the piece.” Agent Zebra.

TBear Reporting From New Mexico

Just got back home late last night from my New Mexico ride-a-bout.

I found a sweet Shamrock Fabrication (Irish Rich) custom that I just had to shoot at the Eaves Movie Ranch in Santa Fe.

This is a real old western town that Cheyenne Social Club with Henry Fonda and Jimmy Stewart and the Guns and Roses November Rain video were shot. I also did a ride around from Albuquerque up to Taos and back.

I’ll have a feature on both the bike and the ride for you in a few days after I can get into the lab to develope the 18 rolls of slides processed. Got some great shots of the Rio Grande and a bunch of cool shots of all over New Mexico. In the meanwhile, here are a few teaser shots of my adventures.

Hendry Sergeant Suspended Deputy Resigns After Clubbing Incident

LABELLE, FL. (Oct 15, 2004) — John Childers has resigned from the Hendry County Sheriffs Office after an August 28 arrest incident caught on tape by a video camera inside the deputy’s patrol car. On the tape, Childers is seen swinging a flashlight at Kenneth Phillips, 45 of Palmdale. The drunk driver suspect was allegedly clubbed, punched, kicked in the head, walked on and threw to the ground. A reports also says Phillips was also tasered and pepper-sprayed. In the middle of the Sheriffs office investigation of the incident, Childers quit.

Sheriff Steve Worley said Sgt. Bobby Shaw was given a five-day suspension without pay for “not reporting the incident.” He said Officer Michael Horne, who wrote in his arrest report that Phillips was handcuffed “with minimal force,” won’t be disciplined. “When I was first made aware of this incident, we took immediate action and did an internal investigation,” Worley reportedly said, adding that he was preparing to terminate Childers when he resigned.

Reportedly the tape shows all three of the officers taking part in Phillips’ beating. “These actions are by individuals and they’re certainly not that of the department,” Worley said. “We took appropriate action and it’s over and done with. This is certainly something that this department does not tolerate.”

Sunday Cantina Easy Chicken Recipe

When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people, like me, who are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try. Even you guys can cook this…

BAKED & STUFFED CHICKEN
6-7 lb. chicken
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHERS LOW FAT)
Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for the popping sounds. When the chicken’s ass blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it is done.

And you thought I couldn’t cook.

BIKETOBERFEST 2004 OFF TO SLOW START

The first day of the officially extended Biketoberfest was off to a slow start. Main Street had less motorcycles than I have seen there on a regular weekend and we only saw one on Beach Street. The beer trucks were everywhere though and unloading trailers. Security People are in place at the bars and businesses are stocking and opening their doors. Now all they need is for the Bikers to show up.

It is too early to tell what the outcome is going to be. Some are saying that the notice of Biketoberfest being extended did not get out in time while most of us know that there has always been 10 days of activities even if they were not official.

rogue - cutie barmaid
How much the recent Hurricanes, limited rooms, the past attitude and high prices are going to affect things are yet to be seen.

We did see a noticeable amount of motorcycles traveling South as we were headed into Daytona. I did not see any heading North with us. I will check as soon as I can what is going on in the Orlando area and also down South around Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.

Earlier this year at Bike Week both these areas reported an increase in motorcycles. It appears that many riders are going to and staying in other areas and coming into Daytona if they want to see or attend some thing special.

There are some places like the Last Resort Bar on US 1 in Port Orange that will be guaranteed plenty of action with their ladies cream corn wrestling on Thursday and the OL’ Skool Chopper Show there on Saturday starting at noon. Billy Lane will also be there from 3-5pm. Besides that it is a fun place that caters to Bikers Year Round.

rogue - Buffalo_Chip_02-150

The big talk around the area is about the Buffalo Chip coming to Daytona and setting up at the Speedway. Many are hoping that this event will draw the Bikers back into town and help the sagging economy. Of course there are the do-gooders who are worried about a little nudity and the consumption of alcohol. This event will be held on private grounds so if you do not like that kind of stuff go some where else. The promoters are giving away 100 kegs of beer a night but have said that they will monitor those that have obviously had too much to drink and also suggest that people stay the night at the Speedway and not ride out of there. No one is saying it officially but you can bet your ass the DUI boys will be in the area as they are in most of the areas that have large gathering and alcohol is served.

This is going to have an obvious effect on the Bars on the Ormond Strip (US 1) which is famous for the law enforcement and the amount of people who get tickets there as much as the bars like Iron Horse, Broken Spoke and others. Personally I like some of them and do go there but Not During Bike Week or Biketoberfest. Traffic Tickets for lame stuff just ruins it for me and many others.

rogue - Froggy's_02-150

I will be headed back up the beginning of the week and will keep you informed as best I can to what is going on. Good thing about Friday was the ease of taking photos, not having to wait in long lines for everything and it was also a chance to have Max my German Shepard get use to crowds, okay limited crowds. Yeah, he did great.

Bikernet Fargo Weather Report

Off today, and it’s fucking cold here in North Dakota. Been reading Bikernet on and off today and I found a problem….don’t know what you can do about it. But on the home page, the story under the free section on Ken Caminiti I can’t access! I connect with all the other items on the home page so I’m thinking that it must have something to do with the link or something like that to the story.

Ok, I’m gonna go move the car outta the garage so when my wife comes home, maybe she’ll like me enough for some bed fun 😉 Hell anything to keep warm!!

When I’m out in the garage I’ll show my Suzuki bagger from the ’80s what I hope it might morph into one day. I’ll show it pictures of the old school chopper from Monster Garage….I think my brain is frozen already!!

Biketoberfest Families Say Work Loss From Hurricanes Still Hitting Hard

DAYTONA BEACH — Robina Vilaubi needs a good Biketoberfest more than ever at her usual biker-event gig tending bar at Dirty Harry’s.

With the Adam’s Mark Resort closed until January to repair hurricane damage, Vilaubi, her husband and son are all without jobs.

“I was thinking I was getting extra spending money,” she said. “Now, instead of extra money, it’s necessary money.”

rogue - Last_Resort sign

The Vilaubis applied for assistance, but a good Biketoberfest — which kicks off today — would make all the difference bridging the gap until January. Her husband will be working the event as a “bar back,” stocking drinks.

Their story is repeated up and down Main Street as workers and business people who traditionally count on getting ahead during biker events hope to merely catch up with bills from enduring three hurricanes.

CICCOTTO RIDES HAL?S BUELL FIREBOLT TO FOURTH PLACE AT VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Best Finish of Season for Buell Dealer Team in AMA Formula Xtreme. ALTON, Va. (Oct. 10, 2004) ? Hal?s Performance Advantage rider Mike Ciccotto rode a Buell XB12R Firebolt to a fourth-place finish in the final AMA Lockhart-Phillips USA Formula Xtreme race of the season at Virginia International Raceway. The race had been rescheduled after heavy rain from a hurricane threatened the area before the originally scheduled dates of Sept. 17-19. The race at VIR was the best finish of the season for the Hal?s team in Formula Xtreme competition, and was the best performance by a Buell rider in the series.

?We?ve had an up-and-down season, but this is a great way to end it,? said Ciccotto, who completed the race despite being limited by injuries suffered in a crash at Road Atlanta on Sept. 4. ?I want to thank the Hal?s team and especially crew chief Terry Galagan for working so hard to put a great Buell race bike under me. This is a very competitive class. I think we made real progress over the season, and we have a nice base to build on next year.?

Following the race Ciccotto and Galagan traveled to Charlotte, N.C. to tape a segment for the Speed Channel program ?2 Wheel Tuesday? to be aired at a later date.

Ciccotto qualified ninth for the race at VIR. He jumped up to sixth position after the first lap of the 17-lap Formula Xtreme race and ran in fifth position behind American Suzuki rider Jason Pridmore until Pridmore dropped out on lap 10. Ciccotto then battled with Suzuki-mounted Chris ?Opie? Caylor for the duration of the race, beating Caylor over the finish line for fourth by just 0.129 second. The race was won by American Honda rider Miguel Duhamel. Valvoline Emgo Suzuki rider Vincent Haskovec was second, followed by HMC Ducati rider Doug Chandler.

Kosco Buell/Innovative Motorcycle Research rider Michael Barnes qualified his Buell Firebolt in 10th position, and moved up to third place after the first lap. He pulled in after noticing a slight oil leak from a broken fitting while running fourth on lap three.

?Racing in Formula Xtreme, against some of the best riders and teams in American professional road racing, was a successful venture for the Hal?s and Kosco dealer teams, and for Buell,? said Erik Buell, chairman and chief technical officer at Buell Motorcycle Company. ?Despite missing the first two races of the season, both teams managed to build on their experience from race to race and constantly improve.?

Barnes raced in nine of the 11 Formula Xtreme events during the 2004 AMA Chevrolet Superbike Championship series, had a best finish of sixth place at Brainerd International Raceway and was 13th in season points. Ciccotto raced in eight events and was 15th in season points. Duhamel won the Formula Xtreme title.

AMA Formula Xtreme is a class open to highly modified motorcycles with 600cc four-cylinder engines or larger-displacement V-Twin engines.

THE DOCTOR VISIT

A Biker and his sweetie, went to a sex therapist’s office in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The doctor asked, “What can I do for you?”

The man said, Will you watch us have sexual intercourse?”

The doctor looked puzzled, but agreed. When the couple had finished, the doctor said, “There’s nothing wrong with the way you have intercourse and charged them $50.

This happened several weeks in a row.

The couple would make an appointment, have intercourse with no problems, pay the doctor, then leave. Finally the doctor asked, “Just exactly what are you trying to find out?

The Biker said, “We’re not trying to find out anything. She’s married and we can’t go to her hotel. I’m married and we can’t go to my hotel. The Holiday Inn charges $90. The Hilton charges $140.. We do it here for $50 and I get $43 back from my insurance.”

Is Florida great or what?

CLOSE THE SUNDAY PAPER AND GO FOR A RIDE–I need a plate of pancakes first, but I’m also looking for a ’29 Peashooter frame. Let me know if you run across one. It doesn’t matter if it’s tweaked or not. I’ll clean it up.

Of course we could also use an architect, painter and contractor we could trust, plus a small bag of gold. We’ll see, if I don’t fall out a second story window in the process of finishing the first two loft rooms. Everywhere we turn is a project.

Ah, but when all is said and done, if that’s possible, life will be cool. In the meantime, let’s take a margarita break.

I’d give you a glimpse of next week, but I don’t have the slightest. We have several hot articles to post including the Lucky Devil’s report from Victory and a Chop-off feature, I’m working on an article on Road Rage by Al Moroz, an Agent Zebra Movie tech, and if we don’t post the final Goliath we’ll all be lined up and shot. And I’m not sure if I’m off to Biketoberfest or not for a bike magazine or two.

In the meantime, let’s cut a dusty trail.

Ride Forever,
