Hey,
It?s Fathers day and life is rockin?. I can?t figure it out and never will, but it feels good. John Gilbert, feature Editor of Bike Works, dropped by to help me with the hardline installation on the 2005 Sturgis Chop. What a deal. If I ran rubber hoses and hose clamps, oil woulda flowed in 15 minutes. Since every line was precision bent for the first time, it took me all fuckin? day. But it?s cool right?

With the help of Rivera?s Shovelhead kit I installed the Mikuni carb at last. A standard Mikuni throttle linkage runs into the cross-over oil line and must be altered. Friday night while the girls went to a strip club, I installed the Empire Mfg. internal throttle. That was a trick and nerve racking. I?ll try to explain in a Shovel tech in the near future. It worked out fine.

Between John Gilbert and I, we?ll put together a tech on hardlines and the Rohm oil cooler/filter mount for Bike Works and Bikernet in the future. We better get to the news so I can celebrate fathers? day with Coronas and Margaritas. Oh, don?t miss the second item. Check the statisics:

Here?s some shots from RFR and the ROT in Texas. I like the way this guy shoots.

The publisher of BIKERS Magazine met today with NC Senator Majority Leader Tony Rand (D-Cumberland County) to present a North Carolina Motorcycle Awareness Funding proposal. The Senator is going to get the proposal to the Highway Patrol and/or take other action on it. Since it is past filing deadlines, the bill would most likely be introduced during the 2006 session.
This would fund the production and distribution of attention getting professional radio ads with motorists as the target audience. We agreed that the Highway Patrol may be best suited for sending out the bid and administering the grant. We agreed that $50k used correctly should be able to produce several excellent ads. Senator Rand believes it may also cover the cost of a couple television spots. The ads would then be distributed for use as public service announcements by broadcasters, and serve as a reminder to motorists to be more aware of motorcyclists.
A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT to appropriate funds to improve motorcycle awareness from April through October. Whereas, seventy five percent of all motorcycle wrecks involve a passenger vehicle; and Whereas, two thirds of accidents between a motorcycle and passenger car or truck are the direct result of the passenger car driver’s negligence, often in failing to yield the right of way to a motorcyclist; and
Whereas, radio is often listened to by automobile drivers; and
Whereas, the safety of motorcycle riders should be of great concern to all who operate motor vehicles in North Carolina;
Now, therefore, The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund, the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the professional production and distribution of radio spots to promote motorcycle awareness.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2005.

Karen Firestone is a huge literary agent at ICM. This is why I’m going to Miami to get the $20 million. I’m going to wipe the floor with people like this.

I thought this was well written. I think the characters and the motorcycle world were really interesting. I think the brothers had a strong voice. Yet this has the feel of an indie movie rather than a studio movie.
I think the motorcycle Jesse James kind of world could be cool for a heist movie but this story is a drama with a character driven rather than an action driven plot. It would be hard for me to try and set up at a studio.
I am looking for scripts with big concepts in which you can pitch the story in a couple of sentences. I’m also looking for scripts with strong female characters.
I enjoyed the read but sorry I can’t be of help with this one.
Agent Zebra is moving to Maimi to start a moving making department with a major advertising firm. FTW will see the theaters within a year.?Bandit

The girls were hot and that guy in the shots in the Associate Editor of Hot Bike, Toph Bocchiaro. He was on hand judging the girls. Greg Friend, the Editor of Street Chopper, escaped the event all together for a chance to roam through the Playboy Mansion. Who judged the bikes?

Thursday, June 9, was just another day in the war on drugs in Austin, the capital city of Texas. A city as racially segregated as any, Austin is bisected north to south by the towering, double-decked Interstate 35, a concrete barrier that very cleanly marks the divide between the primarily white — or “Anglo,” as they say in Texas — west side of the city and predominantly black and Hispanic East Austin. It was in shabby subdivisions of southeast Austin that Thursday evening that 18-year-old Daniel Rocha died, his heart penetrated by a single slug fired at point blank range by Austin police officer Julie Schroeder — into his back.

Well, they don’t have tours on the weekends. Bummer. We had to create our own party. Got to touch the bricks and take a couple pictures. Did visit the Milwaukee H-D. A little hard to find, maybe a sign at the dirt/small road that leads to the parking lot. Some kind of festival in Kenosha on Saturday. I stayed until the CW band started butchering non-country songs. They have some kind of lumberjack competition later. I’ll walk back over for that.
Nice town, 90K. Imagine looking out at the Pacific ocean, but with no waves and it’s fresh water. It’s an awesome view.
I did drop by the Miller Brewing Company while I was in Milwaukee. It’s right across the street from the HD company. They told me it wasn’t all you can drink so I just drove back to Kenosha.

Sorry we haven’t been in contact, slack southernism. We were rapt with the article you sent to Bikernet. Its definitely been a real high light of this year. The ride home was great, we ended up in three different packs of bikes mostly heading towards Brisbane which was a real buz.Darkness and drizzle found us at Bulawheeler,we promptly got a room and had no trouble getting some sleep. Truck stop break is always the way to start the day if possible before a long ride, we pushed off a 5.30 and road thru two hours of wet weather. It was fine by the time we made Sydney.
Sydney to home was a breeze on the freeway, it was sad in a way that we were getting closer to home although we missed the kids our time on the road together was fantastic and we could of kept on riding! I?ve only made a few small changes as you can see, I just like her as she is, the black mongrel.
Thanks so much for your hospitality and kindness, regards

Your readers got a glimpse of Perry Mallet’s airbrushing skills a little while back, and let me tell you, the onscreen shots don’t do his work any justice whatsoever. I was in our local Harley-Davidson Dealership, just looking around, and came across a new bike with this unbelievable paint job. I just had to see more of this guys work. I finally got to meet Perry and his mate Craig, working out of their premises in Tandem Ave, Warana. These guys are right into bike scene with Perry owning a early rigid Triumph and Craig building a very out there raked and stretched one of rigid frame, with a 145ci S&S motor mated to a six speed gearbox and a 300 tyre.
Obviously they would prefer to do bikes, but unfortunately we haven’t got the population like you guys in America so they will lay paint on anything from buses to motorcycle helmets, with Craig doing the paint and Perry doing the artwork. Perry has had an interest in airbrushing for a long time but kept it as a hobby for 12 years. He got serious in the last four years, and it has paid off picking up a couple of awards at different bike shows like the” Inspiration Award” at the Meguiare’s Motor Cross in Sydney last year and “Best Paint” and “Peoples Choice” at Cowra’s Bike& Hot Rod Show in NSW in February this year, so this guy is going places.
To further his carer, Perry his keen to travel to America, so if there are any bike shops that would be interested in sponsoring him, he can be contacted on email mailto:PERRY@AIRBRUSH.NET.AU.

HAPPY FATHERS? DAY GODDAMNIT–I wish all you dads the best. Hopefully you?ll get a chance to ride, see your kids, escape the family, or hang close to the loved ones?whatever rocks your boat. A brother of mine, Dr. Nuttboy, has a Phd in several areas. His code about families is, ?They?re Toxic!? He?s studied family phsycology for years.
I suppose he?s right is some respects, but what the hell. Like anything else in life, some are cool and some should be shit-canned.
Ah, but you can?t beat the girl, and I?m looking forward to the Girls of Bikernet real soon. Should be wild.
Let?s get the hell out of here.
Ride Forever,
