Merry Goddamn Christmas,

I know this is a hetic time, but it?s mandatory to kick-back today, relax, share gift giving, see the folk and maybe watch a game, if there is one today. May this Christmas represent all that is wonderful in our lives.

Here?s the Wilmington ghetto Bikernet headquarters decorated for Christmas.

I could go on and on, but fuck it. Let?s party:

Broken Gambler Frame

Hopefully you remember me as a long time reader and occasional submitter to “Your Shot.” I wrote the 2001/Special Construction story you published on Bikernet.com after I finished building my custom. I am asking you for a big favor. Recently, the Gambler Motorcycles frame that was the foundation for my build had catastrophic failures, while riding at speed on the freeway.

Gambler

Everyone who had the opportunity to see the frame in person, including the reps at Gambler Motorcycles commented how lucky I was to be alive.

This week I flew to meet with them in Hendersonville, TN. to discuss getting a replacement frame. I brought the frame with me so they could see first hand how bad it was and for them to explain to me how and why a frame would fail like this. They could not. I was informed that although they would really like to help me out, the company had been bought out and they don’t feel they need to stand behind the products of the previous owner. I was offered the opportunity to by a new frame for $250 off retail. The retail is $3200.

Rob is going to write a full story about this project and what went wrong for Bikernet. Hang on, we?ll post it shortly.

The Devil?s Code

Just because it?s Christmas and we?re feeling all warm and fuzzy, doesn?t mean we dismissed the Devil?s Code. Oh, he?s back there waiting to rear his nasty head once more.

Bad Cop On Christmas

The Michigan Court of Appeals has ruled against Detroit Police Officer Eugene Brown in a 1996 fatal shooting, a decision that could drain half of the money out of the city’s newly appropriated lawsuit fund if it stands.

The appellate court, in its decision released Wednesday, upheld a $4-million judgment against Brown, whose record of nine shootings, three of them fatal, in a 6-year span sparked community outrage.

Two years ago, a Wayne County Circuit Court jury ruled in favor of a lawsuit filed by Lamar Grable’s family, finding the officer wrongly shot the 20-year-old near Belle Isle. Interest has pushed the award to $5.7 million as the city fought the verdict.

“It’s been a long time coming, but the truth has been borne out,” said the family’s attorney, David A. Robinson of Southfield.

Attorney Juan Mateo won a $3.5-million settlement for the family of Darren Miller, whom Brown shot to death at the Free Wheelers Motorcycle Club in 1999.

On Thursday, Mateo said the Court of Appeals decision shows Brown’s legacy continues:

“He got promoted after he kills Mr. Miller. He’s still on the job. Only in Detroit.”

Christmas With The Kids

These two little boys are sitting in the living room, watching TV with their parents. The mother looks over at the father with a wink and a nod toward the stairs to the bedroom. The father “gets” the message, and they both get up and head towards the stairs.

The mother turns back to the two boys and says, “We’re going upstairs for a minute. You two stay here and watch TV. We’ll be right back, Ok?” The two boys nod OK, and the parents take off upstairs.

The oldest of the two boys is old enough to know what’s going on now, and he gets up and tiptoes upstairs. At the top of the stairs, he peeks into the room and shakes his head disapprovingly. Back downstairs he goes, back to his little brother.

“Come with me,” he says, and the two little boys tiptoe up the stairs. Halfway up, the older brother turns to the younger brother and says, “Now I want you to keep in mind, this is the same woman who used to bust our ass for sucking our thumb!!!!”

Trump

The Teacher?s Christmas Report

Merry x-mas Bandit, Here are some new shots of that Triumph I just picked up..she cleaned up real nice..I also have a tech (tech for dummies that is) on taking the standard 5/8 axle spool hub and swapping to a 3/4 bearing axle.. I know for you and I seems like a no brainer but I have seen many people dumfounded that there are only 5/8 spools available.

I took a bunch of pics of machining the center bearing spacer, and even a new axle.

I will send them if you think you can use it.

Trump2

Of course we could share that tech with our readers. I?m actually up against a similar problem on our 45 WLD. We plan to use larger axles and a large neck stem. So send it in. Look forward to it. Oh, how much do you want for the Trump. I dig it.–Bandit

Panheads

Dual Carb Panheads Found On Christmas

Here’s a shot of the heads. Not to thrilled with the insides of the runners. Whoever did it just welded some plates in the original holes. You can feel indents on the inside with you finger. Gonna need a little work, but the fins and bolt inserts are perfect!

Hey, it’s snowing here, plenty of time to get it done!

MERRY GODDAMN CHRISTMAS–It?s interesting. All the Christmas Build-up, the excitement, then the day arrives. So slow down and enjoy every minute, every smile, every new goodie and all the warmth. We can deal with all that life delivers another day.

wheels n boxes

I started opening boxes from Custom Chrome for my Accurate (Best engine of the Year Award) 120-inch Panhead/John Reed V Sportbike. The first Panhead Sportbike ever build, at least I’d like to think so. Sounds good, don’t it. We’ll take it to Bonneville in 2006 and see if she’ll fly. All the reports will start shortly on Bikernet.

Merry Christmas,
–Bandit

P.S. Some surprises coming in the 29th Thursday News.
