Hey,
It’s LA Calendar Show Weekend and we thought for sure, no Sunday Post until Monday. We tweaked and tuned the Shrunken FXR to ride to the show, but held off. The cops are bad in these parts, and the bike is being registered as we speak. I have no paperwork-too risky. Roger and Darren’s Crew from Kustom FAB, in Hawaii, spent the night and peeled out this morning for check Bike Show check-in with their latest bike, Fusion, which is featured in our Bike Barn right now.

So the Shrunken FXR doesn’t get to go to the show with the big boys. But she’s here for you. Let’s hit the news, then I believe I’m a judge, and we’ll roll over about noon:

DANNI’S MARRIAGE TIP FOR THE WEEK– The wife is curled up, ready to go to sleep, as the husband turns his bed lamp on to read a book. As he’s reading, he periodically reaches over to his wife and fondles her special area. He does this a few times, but only for a very short interval before turning to read his book.
The wife gradually becomes more and more aroused and, assuming that her husband is seeking some encouragement, she gets up and starts stripping in front of him.
The husband is confused and asks, “Why are you taking off your clothes?”
His wife replies, “You were rubbing me downtown. I thought it was foreplay.”
The husband says, “No, not at all.”
His wife asks angrily, “Well, what the hell were you doing then?”
Seconds before his death he says…
“I was just wetting my fingers so I could turn the pages.”

NEW ENGINE, FOUR NEW MODELS FROM HARLEY-DAVIDSON—There’s a complete report in the free section of Bikernet.com under the Road Test/New Model area, but I wanted to touch on the performance highlights once more with shots of the 2007 Dealer Show._

MILWAUKEE (July 14, 2006) – Harley-Davidson will launch the Twin Cam 96, an all-new Big Twin engine, as it introduces its 2007 line of motorcycles. The Twin Cam 96 will power all models in the Harley-Davidson Dyna, Softail and Touring product families, each of which will also feature the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission.

The new Twin Cam 96 engine, paired with the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, delivers up to 17 percent more torque (varies by model family) than the Twin Cam 88 it replaces and incorporates a number of design changes to enhance performance and reliability. It will only be offered with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI). The 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission features quieter helical-cut gears in ratios optimized to match the torque curve of the Twin Cam 96. A sixth gear reduces engine rpm by 11 percent at highway speeds. New mufflers have been tuned to enhance the lower sound frequencies for a more commanding exhaust tone.

Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) will offer four exciting models for 2007: the Screamin’ Eagle Road King, the Screamin’ Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide, the Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer, and the Screamin’ Eagle Dyna. Each is powered by a new high-performance Twin Cam 110 powertrain and features new accessories and fabulous new paint schemes.

Mid-USA LOST LES MORRISON–It is with much gratitude to all who have kept my husband, Les Morrison, in their thoughts and prayers over the last 3+ years.
Les started a new journey on July 13, 2006 at the age of 59. Les was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), the disease that took Dudley Moore’s life, and Bulbar Onset Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, with Frontal Temporal Lobar Dementia. All have no treatment or cure.
Les gave 34 years of his life to the motorcycle industry that he loved. Over those 34 years, he made many friends among both our vendors and our customers, whom he considered to be family. To those who knew him well, I am sure you will all remember him as being not only intelligent, but also very much a people person. He loved to party and he loved his work and he had a great sense of humor.
Les helped take Mid-USA from a three-person operation to a company with two warehouses in the United States and one in Canada. With his vast knowledge of parts, accounting, marketing and warehousing, he accomplished a great deal.
He was a member in good standing of the Motorcycle Industry Council for many years. He loved to ride, and had a recently purchased Harley that he had modified and never had a chance to get on the road.
It was Les’ idea for Mid-USA’s annual golf tournament and the Hooters Show that we had for several years, not to mention our annual Open House.
Les was not only a motorcycle enthusiast; he was very much the family man. He loved family vacations, watching his children Shawn and J play sports, and playing with his grandchildren, Alex and Shea. He loved entertaining and cooking for our family and friends. He was always available to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on.
He will be greatly missed and remembered in the hearts of everyone that knew him. Due to his passing and out of respect for Lester Morrison, Executive Vice President of Mid-USA Cycle Parts, Inc., the Company will be closed in the USA on Thursday, July 20, at 5:00PM and all day Friday, July 21. Mid-USA Canada will be closed from Wednesday, July 19, through Friday, July 21, to allow for our employees, vendors, and customers to join us in saying farewell and to celebrate the life of a wonderful man.
Visitation and Funeral will be held at: Kutis Funeral Home Inc – South County
5255 Lemay Ferry Road
Saint Louis, MO 63129

Thursday, July 20, at 2:00 PM and Friday, July 21, at 9:00AM, with service and burial at 12:00 PM on Friday.
