BIKERNET SLEEPY SUNDAY POST

Leadjimgirls

Hey,

Crazy weekend. It was packed, and it’s still crowded with projects. Yesterday we thought the VL was completed, only to discover problems with the Linkert carb, and gas spewing all over the deck. We removed the float, but decided a rebuild was a necessity, so we pulled the carb.

Peacola

While the good doctor takes the three bolt Linkert to Oshi’s shop for a rebuild. I’m going to pull all the gas lines and replace them, plus incorporate a fuel filter into the mix. We’ll get this 1934 puppy rolling yet.

Today, after the Sunday Post, I’m going to clear off another lift, run Jeremiah’s new dresser onto the platform and perform another stage one upgrade. This time the players are a Bub’s California approved slip on muffler and a Wimmer’s billet 90 degree intake system. Then we’re going to rip the stock bastard off the lift, toss it into congested Los Angeles traffic, and I’m going to figure out what’s wrong with my Sturgis Shovel.

Let’s hit the news. We got work to do:

OXYTANE RELEASE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE OF ITS SUCCESS– Carbon/Engine deposits-Not one scientific cause or paper for these naturally occurring problem/phenomena has ever been proven or produced by any company , university, or government agency. Are carbon/engine deposits making us more dependent on foreign oil than ever before? Is wall wetting a cause of carbon/engine deposits? Is static electricity the cause of wall wetting? Do vehicles lose fuel economy from Carbon deposits? How long does it take to develop those carbon/engine deposits? How much does the physics of the fuel have to do with the problem?

Conclusions-

We know wall wetting exists, we do not know why. We know carbon/engine deposits exist, we do not know why. We know that carbon deposits reduce the volumetric efficiency of the internal combustion engine. We also know that carbon deposits have a detrimental affect on an engines performance, power and fuel economy which in turn increases exhaust emissions. We know the quality of Modern day engine management is excellent and will tune itself around carbon deposits maintaining good engine performance. We know Static Charge in flowing fuel exists. We know we have been burning charged fuel since the beginning of time. We know it is a verified problem that has never been fully addressed (a problem not solved or ignored). We know Oxytane reduces the voltage generated in flowing fuel and reduces and/or removes carbon deposits from the engine.

This accounts for the increased power, performance, fuel economy, and reduced emissions, when compared to the untreated engine. So the result would actually primarily be a restoration not an improvement, restoring older engines and keeping newer engines cleaner longer.

BIKERNET METRIC CONTINUES TO EXPAND–We rumbled from a web site configuration to a web site with a blog. We ditched the web site and rolled down the sole blog road. Now we’re shifting back to a site with a blog as a portion of it.

It’s strange, but you can’t ever say we’re not giving it our best shot.

As you see, we’re having a little shin-dig during the ROT Rally in June and we’re inviting anyone who wants to check out what’s going on in the custom metric world. Parts and bikes by Saint Motorbikes, 7 Metal West, Rock’s Chops, Limeybikes, Working Man’s Customs and more will represent the talents of the underground chopper and bobber movement.

The Dirty Dog bar is hosting us and we’ll have a few garage-built bikes (Honda, Yamaha, BMW, Jawa and more), some great Austin-brewed beer, the raffle of a huge $1200 canvas painting of a custom chopper, some free stuff, and more.

The new website is coming around. I only have to upload all the old posts from the blogger.com site one by one and it’s damn tedious, but I’ve got the weekend set aside to hammer through it all.

Also we’ve got new tech articles coming up, major manufacturer news and a couple of top secret projects we’ll launch on the new site, so check out the brand new bikernetMetric.com next week and look around in the coming weeks for tons of killer content you can’t find anywhere else.

NATIONAL MANDATORY HELMET LAW MOTION– Lautenberg has long been an enemy of motorcyclist and motorcycle rights. He is Very dangerous and everything that can be done to get him out of office should be done.–Rogue

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) has learned that, in a hearing held this week by the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) repeatedly called for a national mandatory helmet law. The hearing, entitled ?Opportunities to Improve Highway Safety,? focused on areas that need improvement when it comes to the landscape of highway injuries and fatalities.

In his opening statement, Lautenberg said that there should be a mandatory motorcycle helmet law for all riders in America. This is typical for the 86-year-old senator. He has routinely attempted to put a federal mandatory helmet law in place before. Lautenberg currently chairs or sits on every single senate committee that has jurisdiction over roads and road safety.

During this hearing, Lautenberg was not alone in his quest for an all-rider federal helmet law. As expected, the spokesperson for the Advocates for Highway Safety also voiced their opinion that a national helmet law is a good idea.

Fortunately, the hearing didn?t only focus on the helmet debate; in fact, very little of it did. There were other issues covered such as impaired driving, distracted driving, and big trucks.

As always, the MRF will keep you informed on this and all issues affecting motorcyclists from Washington DC.

I can not speak out loudly enough against this man. He is very dangerous to every motorcyclist there is. He has constantly pushed for Mandatory Helmet Laws and introduced bills in the legislature since we got the Federal Blackmail Threat of Withholding Highway Funds overturned back in the’ 70s.

It is almost like he has some kind of personal vendetta again motorcycles and their riders. I and others will monitor his actions as best we can, but this is something Every Motorcycle Rider In The Country Needs To Watch!

This is more than the helmet law issue. If he is successful then it will prove to the government they can beat us into submission if they are persistent enough. I do not even want to think about where it will go from there. I appreciate your help in getting the word out.

10,000 MILE RUN REPORT– Finally got to sleep around 3:30 AM only to awake at my normal time of 6AM. Alystar is already up filming to rising sun and me sleeping of course, trying to catch the subtle changes in the light as the sun climbs higher. As the light changes and the sun moves we are getting some great prismatic effects in the studio.

After a shower and some coffee Eric and I unload the Shovel and Aly rides off to go by the place where the bikers were run over by a garbage truck last week. D. J. Jones is on her way to meet up and ride with us a ways. She is a great rider and a fun person to be around I look forward to seeing her smiling face and good humor. Always in a good mood she is taking a few days off from training her cage fighters to ride with us. Don?t know how far she plans on hanging with us, I just know that it will be a blast.

Bright sunshine blue skies it?s no wonder why I love and live in the southwest. Not much to do here for me today so about mid-afternoon I laid down for a nap. I awoke when Eric open his office got redressed and hung out with Eric until the girls returned with food and video of the crash site. Eric lit the ?HOBO BARREL? and we had a fire to sit around and bullshit til we grew tried enough for more sleep.

Some of you are probably wondering what a?HOBO BARREL? is? It?s a 55 gallon metal drum with hole in the sides at the bottom.

04/05/2010

After some early morning phone calls to insure the right part was shipped I helped Eric take his son?s car in to get repairs while the girls

Another glorious morning and we are off to pick up some degreaser and other supplies to repair the Shovel. I drop Alystar off at 4C coffee shop so she could up load yesterday?s adventures and do her blogging and social networking. Back with the supplies and Aly is still working the computer and D.J. is on her way to ride back with us.

She is just itching to get on the road because she only has a limited amount of time to ride before she has to get back to her cage fighters. Now those girls were the hit of the town with all the new friends they made at the coffee shop and cruising around Cave Creek. D.J. was introducing me around while we wait for Alystar to finish her computer work. I met a lot of interesting people here and had some very interesting conversations with quite a few of them.

Riding back to Eric?s we arrived before the UPS guy and I got the bike cleaned and ready for reassembly while Aly interviewed D.J. Hurray the UPS man has arrived only to pick up and not deliver he said that this was a two day delivery zone. Explaining our situation, he said that he would be on the route tomorrow he would come here first and work his way back instead his normal route.

The girls are antsy to hit the road so that they ride some together. All excited they didn?t think about the time it was 3:30 quarter to 4. It was a tough decision but they decided to leave in the morning and I could catch-up later in the day.

Perp Walks of the Week: Former Godfather Cycles Owner Embroiled In Mortgage Fraud Case– The former owner of a Daytona motorcycle shop is facing federal conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud charges in connection with a Florida real estate scam.

Steve Vento, 41, former owner of a Daytona Beach-based motorcycle company called Godfather Racing, is charged along with four others. Prosecutors say he inflated his income to $67,000 a month to take out big mortgages to acquire pricey homes.

In 2007, Vento began a four-year prison sentence following Broward County convictions involving stolen property and racketeering, according to t the Palm Beach Post.

He allegedly got into the mortgage scam in 2006, buying $1 million-plus homes in Lighthouse and Boca Raton.
