Here’s another shot at the front with the brakes mounted on both sides.
Mounting the front fender is a snap. Four bolts, four nuts. But – remember, you want to mock this stuff up BEFOREyou paint and powder coat. If you don’t, Murphy’s law says you’ll have to grind something afterwards…. I found thateven though this fender should have fit this front end setup, that the bolt holes were off a little and needed tobe slotted a bit to fit.
Next – the tank is slipped into place. You’ll see the two rubber grommets near the front mounts. This is a standardSoftail type setup, as are the two mount just in front of the seat post that hold the rear of the tank.

As much as I like flames, wicked tribal paint, racingstripes, and all the other shit that’s en-vogue in today’s bike magazines, I wanted something different for this ride.Something to make this sled look like it was ‘In The Wind’ with a bad-perp haulin’ ass with a pinned throttle on board, even when it’s standing still.I came up with the idea – Jon’s vision made it real.
I also liked this concept because it reminds me of another passion – the American Muscle Car era when the ‘Road Runner’ the’Judge’, the ‘Super Bee’ and other asphalt eating machines sported these larger than life cartoon charactersthat distinguished them as icons we still recognize today. My wife thinks it fits me for one reason in particular; somethingabout constant slobbering.
