Let’s hit it:

THE NEW SADDLEMEN LS Model Road Sofa–

Now Available.

Saddlemen’s new Road Sofa LS for 1997 through current Harley Davidson touring bikes was created for a single purpose: create a luxurious saddle for comfortable, long distance touring without compromising styling.

Like all Saddlemen seats, the LS Road Sofa was engineered with industry leading Gel-Core construction for unsurpassed comfort. Gel-Core is engineered to dampen, divert, and deflect energy to create a smooth, therapeutic ride.

At the heart of this technology is specially formulated viscoelastic polymer known as SaddleGel, which when combined with the latest in co-molding technology reduces engine vibration by up to 50%, and direct impact forces by up to 92 %. Why does Saddlemen use this innovative material? Simple – to add hours and hours of comfortable riding time to every ride!

But SaddleGel is not the only key to comfort. Painstakingly crafted seating contours cradle the rider for proper alignment with pegs, bars, controls and reduce strain and fatigue. Perforated leather seating panels are breathable for continuous ventilation and compliant enhancement of the SaddleGel and Comfort Foam properties used below the cover.

These saddles fit and feel right.
A quick look at the LS Road Sofa reveals that styling and good looks were not compromised for comfort. The LS enhances and complements other accessories and upgrades, providing the finishing touch for any Harley touring bike.

All Saddlemen seats are designed, tested, and built exclusively in the USA for the long ride. American made quality and craftsmanship is something we take very seriously since 1987 at the Saddlemen Long Beach, California manufacturing facility. Every detail, every stitch, and every step of the process from raw materials to the final product has been carefully considered and inspected to insure that Saddlemen’s standards for quality, craftsmanship and comfort are continuously upheld.

Saddlemen will always help make your seat perfect. If for some reason a customer is not completely satisfied with their new Road Sofa just call 800-397-7709 and a friendly Product Specialist will gladly assist.

Key features include:

A tall lumbar support and wide driver saddle supports the back and legs for superior comfort, while the streamlined nose improves the rider’s reach to the ground.

Refined split-cushion design separates the seating surface from the lumbar support, reducing tailbone and back pressure from maximum long-range comfort.

Wide 15.5 inch wide driver bucket matched with 13 inch passenger perch.

Ventilated soft seating leather provides breathable comfort and unsurpassed looks…

Comes with a fitted rain cover specially designed to protect your seat from harsh elements.

The optional driver’s backrest has independent adjustments for fore-aft position, height and angle, and folds forward. (Sold Separately) (Will not fit on 2009-2015 Harley-Davidson® Trike models).

Compatible with OEM Harley Davidson® backrest options.

Matching passenger backrest / Tour-Pak pad cover completes the custom look. (Sold Separately) (as required)

THE POSITIVE WORDS FROM THE YALE MOUNTAIN–
Change your thoughts and you change your world. –Norman Vincent Peale

As I begin today’s journey I Pause. I Know no matter what experience I am going through, Good will come of It. The Law of the Good does work and The Invisible manifests what is ever my most dominate thoughts.

Today I hold the beliefs that Good will triumph over evil, Love conquers hate, Faith erases fear and Peace trumps stress. I believe that All things are possible to those who believe. What thoughts have created, thoughts can change.

Today is the day to change our Lives by changing our thinking!

Today’s Affirmation: As I begin the gift of today I get rid of my stinkin thinkin. I Let Go of doubt, fear and stress. I Open up to My Truth that I am Perfect, Whole and Complete, that I am One with the Invisible Source of All Life.

Today I Know that My Life is filled with Love, Joy, Peace, Health, Wealth, Creative self-expression, Ease, Grace and so much more Good.

I am grateful that I change my thoughts and change My Life. I am Grateful for this moment!

And so It Is

The photo above was taken with my mobile phone at the Willard Hotel on Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC, just a block away from the White House. This 2-hour talk was sandwiched between a bipartisan congressional lunch hosted by Speaker Paul Ryan and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (they sat on each side of him in the same room at the same time!) and a meeting with President Obama at the White House.

On my end, it was a stop between the ROT rally in Texas and Laconia Motorcycle Week in NH!—Michael Lichter

QUICK, OPEN THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY–
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. ‘Is that a dog you got back there?’ he asked.

‘It sure is,’ I replied.Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van.

Finally he said, ‘What’d he do?’

ANOTHER CANTINA PLUG–

I was reading the intro to the SUNDAY POST, and it hit home with me. Looking back I was not a great father, too young at the time.

Took me a long time to learn this lesson and it is a hard one to learn. Wish I could do it over again, but I try my best now. Does not make up for it, but I give it my best .

ROCKFEST RESCINDS “NO COLORS” BAN–
When Rockfest announced on their website that no motorcycle club colors would be allowed in the Kansas City music festival, members of the motorcycle club community and the Kansas Confederation of Clubs (www.kscoc.net) reacted promptly, and within 24 hours event promoters rescinded the policy.

“This ban is tantamount to profiling motorcycle club members based on how they look and prevents them from exercising their rights of free association and expression guaranteed under the First Amendment to the US Constitution,” wrote spokesperson Brian Cohoon in an open e-mail to Rockfest promoters, sponsors and every club in the Kansas COC condemning “in the strongest terms this outrageous ban on Motorcycle Clubs wearing their colors to Rockfest. News of this ban and our reaction to it is being disseminated by the most expeditious means possible to every Motorcycle Club in this region. We strongly encourage you to reconsider this ban and allow Motorcycle Club members to attend in whatever attire they deem appropriate in their individual judgment.”

In addition to many individual clubs and representatives also voicing their disapproval to the radio station promoting “North America’s largest one-day music festival,” the Chairman of the neighboring Missouri Confederation of Clubs e-mailed Rockfest promoter KQRC-FM 98.9 The Rock in protest of the policy, and the Kansas A.I.M. Attorney (Aid to Injured Motorcyclists) was tasked with sending a letter condemning the ban.

As a result of their coordinated activism, online language referring to the colors ban was immediately taken down and the show went on as usual May 14 without incident, just as it has since 1992.

CLUB COLORS BARRED FROM HEADSTONE

Before biker Richard Cody died on Sept. 5, 2013, he told his family and friends he wanted the logo of his beloved South Madison Motorcycle Club on his headstone, but nearly two years later his son Jeremy was forced to file a lawsuit against the city of Painesville, Ohio to make sure his father gets his last wish.

Representing the family and club, Aid to Injured Motorcyclists (A.I.M.) Attorney Ralph C. Buss filed a motion for preliminary and permanent injunction to prevent city officials from removing, defacing, touching or changing the headstone of the Vietnam veteran buried in Riverside Cemetery, after officials informed the Plaintiff that the club colors engraved into the back of his father’s grave marker, “is not deemed appropriate” and ordered the S.M.M.C. artwork to be removed within 60 days at their own expense.

Buss told The News-Herald in a May 10 interview with the newspaper that “the headstone’s logo is not vulgar or offensive in any way, and it complies with the requirements that were in place in 2014 when it was installed” and further charged that new regulations “conveniently” passed afterwards violate the First Amendment and “are nothing more than a license allowing city employees or agents to judge a person’s expression and deny it without any reasoning.”

All the media attention and ensuing barrage of publicity, including a 3,500-signature petition asking city council to allow the headstone to remain unaltered, and accompanying legal actions, resulted in the desired effect.

“When I first got the letter from the City of Painesville telling me that after two years I had to remove my father’s headstone due to it being “offensive”, I was outraged,” Cody recently told Ridin’ On Motorcycle Magazine (www.RidinOn.com). “My only thoughts were ‘I don’t think so!’ For two months I pleaded with the city to change their minds and they were not budging. So, I then got social media involved and contacted my attorney Ralph C. Buss, who just happens to be known for helping other motorcycle enthusiasts when in need. Within three days the City of Painesville decided it was in their best interest to let the stone be left there. It was my father’s wishes to have his club patch engraved on his headstone and I was not about to let that wish be taken from him.”

WHAT HAPPENED TO LACONIAFEST?–

Laconiafest ends early amid ongoing issues
Multiple bands have canceled shows, including Saturday’s headliner.

The Laconiafest concert series taking place during Motorcycle Week ended early after several bands canceled their performances amid some ongoing issues.

Laconiafest was scheduled to go on through Saturday, but workers said that Friday will most likely be the final night.

Workers said the concerts’ managers left Thursday.

The remaining organizers announced on the Laconiafest facebook page today that the show was officially cancelled.

The post reads, “We deeply regret to inform ticketholders for today Saturday, June 18th, that we will be unable to continue the shows that were scheduled today. Due to circumstances beyond our control, Sevendust and a number of support acts are unable to attend and perform as scheduled. A group of various LaconiaFest staff and sponsors made every effort to continue the shows and lineups are scheduled.”

David Williamson started the week in charge of liquor licensing for Laconiafest. But as of yesterday, “Myself and a few people are the managers that are running Laconiafest right now, but none of us are officially Laconiafest.”

When staff arrived Thursday morning the event leaders, including manager Tyler Glover, were gone. “We’ve had really no communication with the powers that be that were Laconiafest,” Williamson said.

About a half dozen bands have canceled.

The manager of Laconiafest told WMUR that the problems stem from a dispute with the city. He said city leaders put projections on capacity that were too high and the first responder staffing was going to cost more than expected.

Laconia’s city manager said although concert crowds have been significantly lower than expected, they city was concerned about walk-up sales, which could’ve added more people and not enough safety coverage.

Despite the problems Williamson said the show had to go on and he got some help from artists like Brett Michaels.

“We had Brett Michaels back there stage managing,” Williamson said.

Musician Kore Rozzik was another artist working backstage. He had planned to go back to New York on Monday.

“Anytime I can get an opportunity out of state to show what I do, I do it to the fullest,” Rozzik said. “I’m not just a performer, I’m also a businessman and I believe in a good hard work ethic and they asked us for our help and we said we’re gonna do it.”

Williamson said Friday night’s show, headlined by Ted Nugent, will likely be the last. That means the festival would end two days early.

Considering the situation, Williamson said they’ve done all they could, “I think these two days are a miracle.”

Ted Nugent is scheduled to perform Friday night. Tickets are $5.

NEW ADVERTISER ON BIKERNET, SONS OF ARTHRITIS–
How Bikers Celebrate Aging with the Sons of Arthritis.

One day, a couple’s 12-year-old son watched as his step-dad and his biker buddies, a group of middle-aged men, sped off on their motorcycles. The young man looked at his mother and said, “Instead of the Sons of Anarchy, they’re the Sons of Arthritis!” Little did he know his step-dad would run with this name and launch a highly successful small business that literally spans the globe.

Entrepreneurs Stan Dorak and his wife, Mary Thory, formally registered Sons of Arthritis, LLC in February 2014. But they had been doing business in some capacity since 2011 prior to adopting the LLC. The two run it entirely out of their home in The Woodlands, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

Sons of Arthritis sells a unique array of apparel that is sure to get a good laugh out of anyone. Thory and Dorak maintain an online store through which they sell t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, hoodies, and a variety of accessories sporting the company’s logo and other comical phrases.

“Most of our customers are Baby Boomers in their 50s and 60s,” Dorak explains. “They really enjoy the self-deprecating humor attached to our products. Even though they are suffering with arthritis or have a hip replacement, they revel in the opportunity to poke fun at themselves and enjoy some camaraderie with others in their age group.”

Dorak and Thory are quite grateful for the advent of social media. Dorak came up with a t-shirt concept. They sold it to someone who posted a picture of it on Facebook, and it spread like wildfire on the Internet to some of the largest online biker communities. The two had soon sold hundreds of shirts in no time – without even having them screen-printed yet. The company now has distributors in the U.S. and Germany.

“People are starting their own Sons of Arthritis chapters all over the world,” he says. (Sons of Arthritis is not affiliated with any of these chapters, but they purchase all of their apparel through the company.)

The startup company has several “chapters” representing different lines of apparel – the Ibuprofen chapter, the Titanium chapter, the Hot Flash chapter, the Daughters of Arthritis line, and more.

Dorak believes it’s the connections among his customers that have really made the small business a big hit.

“Seeing people’s faces and making them smile and laugh is just great,” he says. “All of the feedback, comments, and testimonials we get really make Mary and I feel good inside.”

BUELL NEWS–
Shelina Moreda’s Amazing Race Adventure

It was with dismay we heard during the Isle of Man weekend that after Splitlath won the last eight rounds of the series with their EBR 1190, Yamaha had hired away Splitlath Racing’s rider Mark Aitchison for the Chinese Pan Delta Superbike series.

‘If you can’t beat ‘em, buy ‘em.’

With team members all supporting Mark Miller at the IOM and only two weeks before the next China Superbike weekend, what could possibly be the solution?

Splitlath Racing team owner John Dimbylow called EBR Motorcycles and said, “You know we are all about privateers, and our mechanic Tony Pogue knows Shelina Moreda well, and she is interested in riding. She just loves racing and is willing to take on this crazy adventure at the last minute.” He then told us that not only had Shelina not raced in China, but she also had never been on a liter type Superbike.

John said, “You know, the opposing team is laughing at putting us in this position, where they figure we have no way out. It is likely Mark will win, so let’s give the fans something positive to talk about instead. It’ll be a great story.”

We all agreed. “I completely identify with privateer riders, and especially ones brave enough to do something like this. Tell Shelina to enjoy the 1190 and that it is easy and forgiving to ride,” said Erik Buell. “I want her to have a fun weekend, and to have a great experience learning the bike and track.”

Shelina indeed quickly learned the track, and after practice came in saying, ‘I absolutely love this motorcycle, and the team.’ She qualified 12th, and when the green flag dropped for the first race on Saturday, she was able to get a strong start that put her in 8th in turn 1.

Shelina kept getting quicker, passing more riders experienced on the track, and avoiding a crash and at the checkered flag, the stunned crowd saw an American woman rider cross the finish line in 3rd place. Mark Aitchison had won, but his lap times were nearly two seconds per lap slower than his times on the EBR in prior races. Shelina and Splitlath had triumphed against incredible odds.

When Shelina stepped on the podium, the crowd of over 70,000 went absolutely wild. Everyone loves to see an individual step up to an incredible challenge and succeed, and this may be the sports story of the year in that regard.

On Sunday, Shelina was mobbed in the pits, and as the race grew near had to shut herself in the changing room for a few moments of peace.

The walk to the grid was a sea of cameras and fans, but as the race started Shelina’s focus was clear. Once again she had an explosive start driving from the 12th starting spot all the way to 5th place in turn one.

The race was real battle of rubbing and sliding in the intense heat, and at the end Shelina was 4th, just one spot off the podium, proving that Saturday was no fluke. Her lap times had continued to improve, and she was closer to the winner than in the first race. And at the end of the race, she was mobbed by fans who absolutely felt they had seen the greatest racing ever, and that is what racing is at the core… individuals stepping up to the ultimate challenge.

We are proud to have built the bike that the team and Shelina used to this success, but let there be no mistake, we build EBR motorcycles for the rider, with the goal of delivering bikes that allow our riders to get the most from their talents. This weekend, it was about Shelina, who proved both her incredibly adventuresome and brave spirit, but also her talent.

HELMET LAW NEWS–
Facts Instead of Fiction on Michigan’s Helmet Law Modification.

In recent weeks, many advocates of mandatory helmet laws have attacked Michigan’s ADULT CHOICE motorcycle helmet law passed in 2012. In these “reports” the claim is that 40% of riders in fatal crashes were not wearing helmets which means 60% of riders were wearing helmets. More riders died wearing a helmet than without.

The real problem is UNENDORSED MOTORCYCLE RIDERS.

Every year since 1989 (a total of 26 years) when Michigan started keeping track of this data, 40% OR MORE of the motorcycle riders did not have a motorcycle endorsement and, were thus, riding illegally. In 2013 and 2015 that number reached 57% or nearly 3 out of 5 riders involved in fatal accidents, according to Michigan’s Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP).

ABATE of Michigan President Vince Consiglio stated, “With the extended riding season and the outrageously high number of unlicensed riders, it is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. Why are motorcycle riders allowed to get insurance without an endorsement?”

Additional claims are taken out of context and show a lack of integrity in their reporting. The claim that there was a 23% increase in motorcycle fatalities from 2014 to 2015 is misleading since they do not state that 2014 had the lowest number of motorcycle fatalities in ten years while 2015 had the highest number. The helmet law faction claims “The very low figure in 2014 appears to be an anomaly.” Thus the truth, buried in their report is that 2015 was normal.

ABATE Statistician, Vince Piacenti, finds this “cherry-picking” of data to falsely represent motorcycle safety records to be unprofessional. He added, “Comparing a high year with a low year is not statistically valid.”

The objective of ABATE of Michigan has and will always be to promote motorcycle safety and car driver awareness programs in Michigan. Legislative Coordinator Jim Rhoades said, “ABATE has initiated and helped pass four separate bills in the last four years aimed at the issue of unendorsed riders and motorcycle safety and awareness. The helmet law question is an adult freedom issue.”

The insurance industry continually hammers motorcycle riders on Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) coverage, which ALL motorcycle riders are required to pay for. The fact is that motorcycle riders are NOT covered in a catastrophic accident unless the incident involves an auto or truck. There is no coverage in a single vehicle accident, if another motorcycle is involved, or if a cyclist hits a deer or other animals.

Motorcyclists represent approximately 5% of the catastrophic costs to the insurance industry while injured pedestrians and bicyclists use more than three times for medical costs and do not pay anything into the MCCA.

ABATE of Michigan, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rights and promoting the safe operating practices of all Michigan motorcyclists.

ABATE has partnered with public schools and private drivers schools to teach more than 80,000 new drivers about motorcycle awareness, using resources donated by ABATE members.

INTERMOT 2016:
A powerful new concept with lots of innovative new features

New: INTERMOT customized, Area 4, Boulevard of Touring

The international customizing scene has been integrated into the event in a standalone show-within-a-show format under the name “INTERMOT customized”: a tailor-made presentation platform for the target group.

In Hall 10.1, in addition to the V2 custom scene, the new wave custom scene of café racers and modern adaptations will also be showcased. Exhibitors here include, for example, vehicle manufacturers BMW, Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Triumph, Yamaha and also Boss Hoss, as well as Concept Store from Craftrad, Nolan and Rusty Pistons from the helmets and clothing product segment.

Among others, Custom Chrome Europe, Motorcycle Storehouse and Detlev Louis will be exhibiting parts and accessories for the customizing segment. Impressive conversions and concept bikes will be on display from WalzWerk Racing, Fred Kodlin, No Limit Custom and Hells Kitchen Choppers.

This new segment is of course supported by a host of creative, industry and sporting highlights, making it appealing to both the general public and the scene alike. The “customized stage” with expert talks, interviews and music will be the central element.

In the Garage Area, professionals will be working live on site on project bikes ensuring every step in the process is clearly explained and demonstrated. Tasks like changing the footrests, handlebars, headlights and indicators will be as expertly explained and performed as shaping and fitting a fuel tank. The area even includes a mobile spray booth.

In the Garage Area, visitors can watch over the shoulders of professionals while they go about their work, can enquire about tips and tricks and come away with valuable words of advice for their own projects.

In addition to the custom presentations in Hall 10.1, INTERMOT, together with Glemseck 101, is launching the “Essenza” competition: hot two-cylinder, two-wheeler conversions, reduced to the max, made up of only the barest of essential components, highlighting the unique characteristics of the respective brands. This is where the big-name motorcycle brands take on small custom-bike workshops, aiming to take a podium place in the 1/8-mile sprint and design competition.

Following an initial performance of the sprint at Glemseck 101, the final takes place at INTERMOT, along with the presentation of prizes to the winners. Online voting is open to the public for over a month, from the Glemseck festival up until INTERMOT, so that the community can use the time to decide which bike is the winner.

The audience at INTERMOT can experience the power of the Essenza bikes in person on Saturday 8 October 2016: with the legendary 1/8-mile sprints on the racing circuit. And on Sunday, the spectacular Sultans of Sprint will be highlighting their sprint power and the scene’s innovative energy.

Also taking place this year as a part of INTERMOT customized will be the AMD Championship of Custom Bike Building. It is here that the “who’s who” of customizers will be putting themselves before an international jury with their spectacular conversions. The world championship focuses mainly on the category of V2 customs, but also addresses the new custom scene with the category of café racers.

Rounding off INTERMOT customized will be the “Naked Bike” show, hosted by the trade magazine Roadster, also in Hall 10.1. This is where visitors will be able to have a close look at unclad motorcycles in a brand-independent presentation, sit on them and get a first feel for these motorcycles.

Boulevard of Touring

The “Boulevard of Touring“, which runs centrally along the northern section of the Boulevard at INTERMOT will bring the topics of touring and tourism even more to the fore. The Tourism Centre is located immediately adjacent, in the entrance area of Hall 8. Touring motorcycles parked in the themed areas invite visitors to sit on them and try them out.

Experts from the touring rider magazine Tourenfahrer will be providing information about the touring motorcycles on display and will be happy to offer ideas and suggestions for travel plans. On the Touring stage, an interesting around-the-clock programme of events will be on offer: accounts of exciting experiences and varying photo shows, as well as tips from experienced adventurers.

There is something for everyone in the Tourism Centre: advice from specialist travel operators and inspiring ideas from hotels in the major holiday regions for your next trip.

FACTORY LINKS STEPS UP–
Factory Links provides all parts needed in a single package to create an at affordable kit that is convenient and priced right.

The goal is to offer the industry’s highest quality line of bearings, seals, and chassis link kits.

The most all-inclusive product line packaged in convenient kits. Quality design and construction to meet the roughest riding conditions.

Competitively priced with a Large inventory available for immediate delivery.

“A quality product, immediate availability, and a company that treats customers like gold are the three criteria that Pro Riders Marketing looks for in a client. Factory Link possesses all three, so we can enthusiastically push the brand world wide.” states Joe Distefano.

The mission is to be our customers’ best “parts partner”. Providing the most intelligent, quick, easy, and enjoyable replacement parts experience in the industry in our #1 goal, and should be our customer’s expectation with every transaction.

Our kits meet O.E.M. standards in terms of quality, durability, fit, form, and function. In some cases manufacturers may use caged needle bearings, whereas when technically possible, we provide Full Complement bearings.

This type of bearing can withstand much higher loads and shocks; it spread loads better, and therefore brings better handling. Our wheel bearings kits use a double-lip oil seal design where as the OEM may be a single-lip oil seal.

Simply stated, we upgrade the application when and where ever possible.

QUICK, BIKERNET GUN NUT ALERT–
More Gun Control Votes Coming—Contact your U.S. Senators Immediately!

Your calls and emails are working, but our Second Amendment Rights are still under assault in the U.S. Congress!

Two anti-gun amendments failed yesterday in the U.S. Senate, but more anti-gun amendments are in the works and could be considered at any time, maybe as soon as today!

The anti-gunners in the Congress are continuing to blame you for the terrorist attack in Orlando – they continue to portray you and your firearm freedoms as the problem – we can’t let them win!

Let’s keep the pressure on – please call your U.S. Senators today and ask them to oppose any and all gun control and request they respect your right to defend yourself by passing national concealed carry reciprocity.

Since the Obama administration’s failed foreign policy won’t protect you from radical Islamic terrorists, it’s critical we pass national concealed carry reciprocity so the law-abiding can protect themselves.

Please contact your U.S. Senators immediately and let them know you oppose any new gun control and request they pass national concealed carry reciprocity legislation.

STRANGEST WHEEL OF THE WEEK–
The Patent Pending GeoOrbital wheel is a evolution of the Orbital wheel (the wheels on the TRON Motorcycles). The GeoOrbital wheel contains an entire powertrain (motor, battery, electronics) inside the wheel itself.

The GeoOrbital wheel takes under 60 seconds and no tools to install and is virtually indestructible. Everything needed to power your bike is included in the wheel!

The GeoOrbital wheel is compatible with nearly every bicycle, We have tested it on hundreds of bikes of all different styles from all different eras. The wheel comes in 2 sizes to work with 26 inch, 28 inch, 29 inch and 700C size bikes. If your bike has a 26in, or 700c (also compatible with 28in and 29in) front wheel and uses rim brakes. The GeoOrbital wheel fits!

The GeoOrbital wheel is by far the easiest way to add electric power to your bike. It simply replaces your bike’s front wheel and contains everything you need to make your bike electric in one compact and efficient package. The only thing that isn’t in the wheel itself is a simple thumb activated throttle, which is easily clipped onto your handlebar. The entire installation can be done by hand (no tools needed) and takes under a minute.

Sometimes you just need the speed. Whether you need to accelerate faster than cars at an intersection or just want to get home after work, our class leading 500W Brushless DC motor will get you to 20 miles per hour in just 6 seconds and you can always pedal to go faster.

We use the highest quality Panasonic 36V Removable/Upgradable Lithium-Ion battery with a pedal assisted range of up to 50 miles per-battery (up to 32 mile range for the 26 inch wheel ). With little to no pedaling you will go about 20 miles on a single battery (12 miles for the 26 inch wheel). The more you choose to pedal the more range you can expect, and you can always take a spare battery with you for longer rides.

*State and city rules might vary.

WANT TO READ SOME STRANGE SHIT—
It’s Chapter 23 of Derrel’s saga, BORDERLAND BIKER. Hang on. We rode the rest of the night putting mile after mile between us and the town of Oakley.

The longer I was on the Raider the more I remembered its particulars; in particular the particulars surrounding its six foot wheelbase and extended rake. When I say extended rake I mean extended relative to the rake of the Suzuki M109 and Larry’s Victory Vegas 8-Ball. Larry’s 8-Ball with its lighter weight and shorter wheelbase was definitely more at home through tight corners while the Raider had the edge in comfort and with those big high speed sweepers.

And the M109…well the M109, like the Yamaha Road Warrior with its R1 front end, was one of the elite that would always command a place for all round handling and brute power. To compare them was expected; however to expect one bike to be like the other would be like expecting different restaurants to have the same menu… Hang on!

JIMS TOOL OF THE WEEK–
No. 5519 Motorcycle Lift Tool and Lubricant Tray

Motorcycle lifts are typically just big enough to hold the bike and get it up to a convenient level to perform service.

There is little space to keep tools, parts, fluids, chemicals, and sealants organized. Even with a rollaway tool box, the limited area on the lift base can become cluttered and disorganized.

This durable powdercoated steel lift tray can keep parts and tools separated along with other necessary items. This tray can easily be installed by simply drilling two 7/16” holes at the edge of your lift.

Once the holes are drilled, the tray is conveniently removable so tools and lubricants can be brought back and forth to your workbench.

Note, by drilling more than one set of holes, the tray can be used in multiple locations.

For use on Handy brand lifts and most other bike lifts with a 4-inch edge.

JIMS No. 5519 has a suggested retail price of $90.00, features JIMS lifetime warranty, and is made in the USA.

For more information, contact sales@jimsusa.com, visit www.jimsusa.com , or call (805) 482-6913. See the video on our new You Tube channel, JIMS USA.

UNCLE MONKEY ON THE OPEN ROAD–

The roar of a fire has drowned out the thunder of the day. Miles across rolling countryside. Interstate forsaken for solitary county highways are memory now. Cold beer by the warmth of a fire awaits. A flat rock serves as frying pan with a river trout lured in by a safety pin on a shoelace cozy up to the edge.

The roar subdues to crackling wood and popping sparks as a sizzle comes from tonight’s meal. Belly laughs roll from lips about bumble bees up sleeves, a sparrow off a mirror – its anatomy now part of your beard.

There is a hitch in a step from that pothole that leapt in front. You poke at the trout with your empty beer can before tossing it into the fire for a fresh one.

Johnny is rolling in now. You can pick the sound of a Shovelhead out of the crowd of TwinCams. He steps a little too close to the fire in his Glad Bag rain suit. He curses the rain cloud that engulfed him all day as he tosses it into the fire. A swig from a bottle of Jack.

He sneers that it was worth it because the little hard body on the Sportster he was chasing all day invited him back to her tent for the night. Buddha offers up a skin of wine for them to warm up with. You curse over laughter as you pat out the flame on your trout. The other side is still good. RG passes you a tin plate from his gear. You brag about it being not bad (even though it tastes like shit.)

They know you’re lying but let it pass today. Fuel for another day, for another fire.
Fireflies hang in the air as crickets call for lovers. Buddha passes out big fat cigars from his saddlebag. You pull it under your nose drawing in the fragrance. Only the finest. You spit the end into the fire and lean into Buddha’s Zippo.

You catch Garry, the new guy, out of the corner of your eye. Buddha does too and offers Cigars 101 to the night. No one else notices, some admit their errors. You reposition the wood stump behind your back. There? No just a little more. There. That’s the spot.

The knot in the wood works against the knot in your shoulder. Garry asks about tomorrow, but you tell him it’s too far away.

The fires are glowing embers now. Though the trees you look up into the starry sky. RG spouts off about Area 51, little grey men and reptile overlords.

Sparks dance into the sky as Buddha tosses a couple sticks on the fire. Johnny and the girl murmur away in the distance until a bagger and Seger softly blanket their sound. Your cigar has burnt out. You thank Buddha and tuck the rest away for another time. RG philosophies between drags on the joint he forgets to pass around as Buddha eggs him on with false flags and controlled demolition. Gary tosses a firecracker into the fire putting out the storm.

Your last beer is warm so you hike down to the stream to cool it off. The bubbling water flows into the night. Sara, the redhead from two sites over, slips out of the darkness. A bit of pleasant small talk. She offers you a beer, which you accept seeing yours has washed away now. She smiles a subtle smile, a devilish little smile before turning back towards her tent. You watch her shape move in the moonlight.

You gulp down the beer tossing it to the side before following her into the darkness.
