NEVER DULL THURSDAY NEWS for February 27, 2014

Hey,

I attended a Wilmington, California Neighborhood Council meeting last night. At each meeting a cop gets up and gives a very succinct report on crime in the neighborhood. This time there were two police agencies represented. You’ll get a kick out of this. Local cops are targeting bikers. I immediately started fidgeting in my seat.

Then I found out their targets were bicyclists. They pull them over often and run their info for illegals, warrants, parole offenders, probation issues, and search them for drugs. I’m glad I ride a chopper.

I mentioned this before, but if a serious crime takes place locally here’s a list of the responding agencies: LAPD, Harbor Police, Immigration, Sheriffs department, Boarder patrol, FBI, CIA, Coroner’s office, and I’m probably missing a couple. Watch your back.

Let’s hit the news:

The news is sponsored by Cycle Source and Easyriders Magazines

THE ALL NEW BIKERNET TAX FOUNDATION ALERT, The Taxman Cometh— The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued a proposed rule that would affect the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) and every other advocacy group with the same tax status. The MRF has what is known as 501(C) 4 tax status, this means the MRF can be involved in political activities, however donations to the MRF are not tax deductible for the person or group that donates the money.

Recently the IRS seems to be unfairly targeting conservative tea party type groups. Now its time to punish everyone because the current IRS does not care for the way that some of these groups have been successful in getting out the vote and raising money. 501(c) 4’s are named after the section of U.S. code that defines them. Some of the tea party type groups are also in the (c) 4 grouping, as a “social welfare” group.

The 501(c) 4 is the segment of the nonprofit world best known for organizations like Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS and the liberal group, Priorities USA. 501(c) 4’s are in fact made up of over 86,000 mostly small organizations nationwide, some of which are almost certainly active participants in our own community’s civic life. They weren’t invented in the last election cycle; they’ve been around for generations. Their purpose isn’t to hide donors; it’s to advance policies. The big famous guys and the shady newcomers get all the attention, but they aren’t typical of the sector, any more than Justin Bieber reflect the experience of the bulk of the people making a living in the music industry. It is true that political spending has skyrocketed since 2008 in the (c) 4 category and that some reform to those groups spending astronomical amounts of money for election purposes is warranted.

This tax status allows the MRF to “be involved in the political process” so long as the primary purpose of the organization is not partisan politics. Under the proposed rules we would be limited to doing work around elections and key votes. The IRS said in a hearing this past Wednesday that they have received an “unprecedented” number of comments and that the “rules would not be finalized anytime soon”.

At this point it is not clear whether the government planned to change the rules for all 501(c) groups, including (c)(5)’s (labor unions) and (c)(6)’s (trade associations). .

The new rule would limit what political activities the MRF and other (c) 4’s could do before election dates. What would be considered a “political activity” is not known. It could be as simple as a meeting with an elected official on an issue important to their constituents, a get out the vote effort or even endorsement of candidates.

By confusing protected political speech with electioneering, this proposed rule would silence social welfare non-profit organizations for a minimum of 90-days during an election year. However, because the regulation applies to elections at every level of government, and some state and local governments host elections on odd years, or in differing months of the year, free speech for (c) 4 organizations conceivably could be restricted every year.

This is unacceptable and out of line with our form of government. (c) 4 social welfare non-profit organizations serve a valuable role in society and it would be unjust to prohibit their speech. A final ruling could be years away.

The MRF will keep you updated on this issue.

BIKERNET SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON–The Pastor’s Ass.

The Pastor entered his donkey in a race and
it won !!

The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey
that he entered it in the next race,
and it won that race too.

The local paper read:
PASTOR’S
ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
Publicity that he ordered the
Pastor not to enter the donkey in another races.

The next day the local paper headline read:
“BISHOP
SCRATCHES
PASTOR’S
ASS”.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he
ordered the Pastor to get
rid of the donkey.

The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a
nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN!!

The Bishop fainted ….

He informed the Nun that she would have to
get rid of the donkey as soon as possible.

So she sold it to a local farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read:

“NUN
SELLS ASS FOR $10″.

This was too much for the Bishop so he
ordered the Nun to buy back the
donkey, and take it to the plains
where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The Bishop was buried the next day.

The moral of the story is .. . . being
concerned about public opinion can
bring you much grief and misery,
even shorten your life.

So be yourself and enjoy life.
Stop worrying about everyone else’s ass and
you’ll be a lot happier and live longer!

STURGIS MOTORCYCLE HALL OF FAME 2014 INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED–The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the 2014 inductees into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame and the Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame is designed to recognize individuals or groups who have made a long term positive impact on the motorcycle community.

The Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame recognizes the commitment and sacrifices individuals across the nation and world have made to protect the rights of motorcyclists. For 2014, the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame will honor one Freedom Fighter and induct six into the Sturgis Hall of Fame.

Deb “Tiger” Chandler – Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame – Deb “Tiger” Chandler has been an active part of the motorcycling community for over 40 years. In partnership with the Colorado Confederation of Clubs (CCOC), she assumed the role of Colorado Commander of the Coalition of Independent Riders – a registration of independent riders. Tiger has worked tirelessly through the state legislature to address issues of importance to motorcyclists in Colorado including funding for beginning rider training and alcohol interlocking devices for motorcycles. She has also been instrumental in implementing a Biker Day at the Capital in Colorado as a means of opening dialog between bikers and legislators.

Clyde Fessler – During his 25 year career at the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Clyde Fessler played an integral role in the turnaround of the company. He served in multiple marketing positions including, Director of Marketing, Vice President of General Merchandise, Vice President of Motor Accessories, and Vice President of Business Development. He was responsible for many innovative programs, policies, products, and marketing strategies that made Harley-Davidson one of the most recognized brands in the world. Since his retirement in 2002, Fessler has remained active in motorcycling as a member of the Hamsters Motorcycle Club. He recently wrote a book, “Rebuilding the Brand” and now travels extensively as a Keynote Speaker.

Jesse Jurrens – Legend Suspensions began in 1998 when Jesse Jurrens recognized the benefits an air spring could have on motorcycles and sought to develop the technology for Harley-Davidson Softail Chassis. Eventually being convinced, Gates™ Rubber Company, the leader in air spring technology, agreed to lend their patented Kevlar impregnated rubber air spring technology to the fledgling South Dakota start-up. Since that time, Jesse has continued to develop innovative suspension systems.

Today, Sturgis South Dakota based Legend Suspensions manufactures Aero Air Suspension systems and Revo coil suspension systems for all Harley-Davidson models and Off-road UTVs. Legend Suspensions are available world-wide providing a smoother ride with “on the go” adjustability, increased vehicle capability and versatility. The Offroad systems are used by the U.S. Military and countless fire and rescue operations. Legend has become known for its innovative quality products, Lifetime Warranty, and outstanding customer service. The company is a recognized leader in suspension technology.

Jay “Lightnin’” Bentley – From the time he was a teenager, Jay Lightning rode in a motordrome owned by Pappy Boudreaux – first part-time and later full-time. Early on, Jay rode Harley Hummers as a straight rider, but soon graduated to trick riding on the wall on Indian 101 Scouts. By 1998, Jay took out a loan against his home to purchase wood and equipment to begin building what would become the American Motor Drome Wall of Death. Completed in 2000, it was the first of its kind to be built in over 50 years. For the past 14 years, the American Motor Drome has toured the country full-time. Besides keeping the drome running, Jay collects classic motorcycles and wall bikes that he displays as part of the traveling show.

Keith Terry – An avid motorcyclist since he was 15, Keith Terry’s career actually started in the automotive industry, after which he operated a company that promoted bicycle motocross races. In 1994 Keith built his first custom motorcycle, and he’s been building them ever since. Keith and his wife Fran have owned Terry Components, the largest supplier of motorcycle starter motors and battery cables in the industry for 20 years. More recently, Keith – along with Chris Malo – started Baggster LLC, a company that manufactures custom conversion kits for Harley-Davidson applications. For the last three years, Keith has been in charge of the Buffalo Chip Challenge working with Sturgis Brown High School students to build a custom bagger that is auctioned at the Legends Ride each year.

Bonnie Truett – Ask anyone in the drag racing world about who’s had a broad impact on the sport and Bonnie Truett’s name will likely come up. Bonnie started racing in the 1960s, and was constantly working to get more out of his drag bikes. He started by changing the flywheels in his own Sportster, but eventually he and his partner Paul Osborn started to create and manufacture their own flywheels, frames, cams, cylinders and rods. Bonnie continued to race until 1984, and he and Paul continued to run Truett and Osborn together until his retirement in 1997. Following his retirement from racing, Bonnie helped his son Scott who is a four time champion in Pro Drag class in AHDRA. Bonnie is well known to everyone in the drag racing world as a friend, mentor and all around good guy.

Paul Yaffe – For over 20 years, Paul Yaffe has created custom motorcycles, working on as many as 12 commissioned bikes in any given year. Many a Paul Yaffe Original has graced the pages of motorcycle magazines in the U.S. and abroad. As part of his creative process, Paul often engineers new and exciting parts for one of his custom creations. Often those parts are in demand from others in the custom-bike building world. So, Paul created his Bagger Nation brand of custom parts and accessories for touring motorcycles. Paul’s contributions do not end with the motorcycle industry, though. He’s well-known as an advocate and fundraiser for children’s charities both in Phoenix and in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

The annual Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6 at 9:00 a.m. at The Lodge at Deadwood in Deadwood, SD.

GUN NUT EDITORIAL:
Connecticut gun owners revolt.

Widely flouted registration law puts legislators in a bind– Laws are more than just symbolic gestures. Connecticut’s General Assembly must come to grips with this truth before its recent effort to “save lives” ends up destroying them.

State law enforcement officials are now in the difficult position of dealing with one of the most widely flouted laws since the end of the 55 miles-per-hour speed limit and Prohibition. If it’s really serious, the state will have to find space to imprison 300,000 residents for the next five years.

The first article of the Connecticut Constitution couldn’t be more clear. “Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state,” it says.

Busybodies at the Capitol in Hartford decided that “every” doesn’t really mean every, and it banned the semi-automatic rifles that would be most useful in defense of the state. As of Jan. 1, owners of arms that have a menacing appearance had to submit registration paperwork to the state.

Only about 50,000 did so. There’s no way to know how many “assault rifles” remain unregistered, but the best guess is that the new “gun safety” law instantly created 300,000 felons.

Eager to exploit the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, easily frightened lawmakers rushed to add yet more hurdles to gun ownership in the state. Those wishing to possess a pistol already had to pay fees, take tests and fill out paperwork to obtain a firearms-purchase permit.

Separate permission from the state was required just to buy ammunition in a process that must be repeated every five years. Bearing arms outside the home requires another permit that the state may, or may not, issue at its discretion.

None of these hurdles prevent crime. The alleged perpetrator of the Newtown massacre obtained his weapons by murdering his own mother, in violation of the law. That’s what criminals do.

Reality is of little interest to Connecticut politicians when they’re intent on making a statement. They thought that they could compel everyone to think as they do about gun control by threatening those who disagree with a felony. It didn’t work.

Faced with 300,000 potential offenders, officials must decide whether to ignore the new law, or enforce it by sending SWAT teams to raid the homes of anyone suspected of owning the most popular rifle in America, the AR-15.

As author Radley Balko documented in “The Rise of the Warrior Cop,” sending squads crashing through doors unannounced in the middle of the night frequently results in death and injury for innocent bystanders.

Even family pets aren’t spared. Rampaging cops in Prince George’s County, Md., for example, killed Chase and Payton, the gentle Labrador retrievers belonging to Berwyn Heights Mayor Cheye Calvo. The cops expected to find drugs in the raid; instead, they terrorized an innocent family.

Repeating similar scenes 300,000 times in Connecticut would create the very “gun violence” that the misguided registration law was supposed to prevent. Even if all of these citizens turned themselves in peacefully, it would bankrupt the state.

Currently, Connecticut’s 15 prisons hold 16,839 behind bars at an annual cost of $620 million. Full compliance with the gun law would exceed the entire state budget at $55 billion.

We hope that calmer heads prevail in Hartford. Respect for the law is essential for society, but this presupposes the laws themselves are worthy of respect.

UNCLE MONKEY HITS THE DISCOUNT TOOL STORE–As I perused the aisles of our local discount tool store I kept crossing path with another soul wander the aisle. With each passing his eyes got wider and wider as I fetched tool after tool. Finally he asked me if I really used all those tools. I explained how this was used to do that – that was used to do this and so on.

He was bewildered that there were so many tools available. It was apparent he was one of those hand tool box guys, probably one of those tools in a Tupperware box guys. He was dumbfounded by the selection of tools beyond his “star” and “square” screwdrivers and butter knife.

I’ll be the first to admit I have way too many tools being better equipped then many garages but having the proper tool to do the proper job makes life a hell of a lot easier. I generally try to buy good quality tools with life-time warranties made in North America and while some of the tools I was buying that day were questionable the one or two times that they would be put into service they would suffice.

I asked what he was after – pliers. As we made our way over to the section I asked what his project was and what he needed pliers for. It was apparent what he needed was ViceGrips so I explained how they worked, some of the things to use them for and wished him luck. He later tracked me down in the air tools section to thank me.

He was a paper and pencil guy (I suppose I should say iPad and finger guy in this day and age), lived in a new house, drove a new car, and never fixed anything in his life let alone assemble anything IKEA.

Wondering around that day watching people buy English Wheels, bench grinders, torches, work benches and every hand tool imaginable he had gained a new respect for blue collar workers, for the men and women who manufacture this world we live in. As the disposable society that we are there are still people spinning wrenches to keep this world spinning.

BIKERNET’S NEWS ITEM OF THE YEAR, SO FAR–Diamond D’s brothel began construction on an expansion of their building to increase their ever-growing business. In response, the local Baptist Church started a campaign to block the business from expanding — with morning, afternoon, and evening prayer sessions at their church.

Work on Diamond D’s progressed right up until the week before the grand reopening when lightning struck the whorehouse and burned it to the ground!

After the cat-house was burned to the ground by the lightning strike, the church folks were rather smug in their outlook, bragging about “the power of prayer.”

But late last week ‘Big Jugs’ Jill Diamond, the owner/madam, sued the church, the preacher and the entire congregation on the grounds that the church …. “was ultimately responsible for the demise of her building and her business — either through direct or indirect divine actions or means.”

In its reply to the court, the church vehemently and voraciously denied any and all responsibility or any connection to the building’s demise.

The crusty old judge read through the plaintiff’s complaint and the defendant’s reply, and at the opening hearing he commented, “I don’t know how the hell I’m going to decide this case, but it appears from the paperwork, that we now have a whorehouse owner who staunchly believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that thinks it’s all bullshit”.

BIKERNET’S OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED BIKER PHILOSOPHER SPEAKS OF CHOICE–Life always presents us with many choices

There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. –Denis Waitley

Let us be clear as we start today that we will be filed with choices throughout this and every day. The most important choice is who is going to have the Power over your day, you or someone else. I know that precedent has no Power over the present.

All that counts is the present, the only Power that the past, future or some else has over us is what we give it. Today is a gift in which we move to a Higher level of Consciousness, of expression and of living. We have learned from the past, so we can have a better present, no longer do we need to repeat the past, it is now the past.

When we move into this Consciousness The Universe will respond to our Consciousness supplying us with what we choose. As we are faced with challenges we should Pause go within, if only for a second, and call on that Infinite Power within for the answer and Know we have the solution. Remember only you have the choice of how you choose to handle each and every situation.

And So It Is
Namaste’

“Alice came to a fork in the road. ‘Which road do I take?’ she asked.

‘Where do you want to go?’ responded the Cheshire Cat.

‘I don’t know,’ Alice answered.

‘Then,’ said the Cat, ‘it doesn’t matter.”

QUEENSLAND STAR CHAMBER TO INVESTIGATE INAPPROPRIATE BIKER LINKS–  Investigators in the Australian state of Queensland say they have obtained intelligence pointing to “inappropriate relationships’’ between bikers, police and public servants.

The Crime and Misconduct Commission’s specialised Police and Public Sector Corruption Team is looking at suspicious relationships between the groups.

While stressing investigations were in their infancy, the CMC has revealed its own intelligence has raised red flags and that it has also received a number of complaints from whistleblowers.

In an a PR interview with local media, acting CMC chairman Dr Ken Levy said the team was investigating a number of matters and “conducting proactive target development strategies with a view to identifying future investigations’’.

“These investigations relate to police officers, civilian police employees and employees of public sector agencies,” he said.

Levy said that in just five months 73 people – mostly motorcycle club office bearers and former and current members – had been summoned before the Star Chamber style closed hearings to provide evidence about their knowledge of the clubs, with the workload prompting the construction of another ‘coercive’ hearing room.

Those who refuse to take an oath or answer questions are sent to the Supreme Court for sentencing. Six people who refused to provide information have been sentenced to from 28 days to seven months’ jail.

“These new hearings provide the CMC and its law enforcement partners an accurate and contemporary picture of how criminal motorcycle gangs in Queensland operate and the extent of their involvement in criminal behaviour,’’ Levy said.

“Some of the themes include how sophisticated the internal structures of criminal motorcycle gangs are and the level of infiltration of certain industries.”

Levy said some motorcycle clubs were “playing a game of cat and mouse” to test whether they could outlast tough new laws.

“Some (motorcycle clubs) are having a watch-and-wait sort of approach to see what happens with the legislation,” he said.

“Certainly, some have said, ‘we resigned,’ some have said, ‘we’ve gone interstate’, we really don’t know the numbers.

“Despite what they say, to say categorically that they’ve left clubs in droves or (are) playing a game of cat and mouse is hard to know.”

Levy said while many ordinary Queenslanders might never be directly affected by bikers, all were indirectly touched.

“The profound personal, family and community impacts of illicit drug use are well recorded, especially the links to property and violent crimes that are fuelled by illicit drug addiction,” he said.

“There are also broader impacts including the burden on Queensland hospital and health services as a result of drug use or drug-related violence.”

Just heard that spring is hiding around the lucky tree a block from the next corner, followed by 2015. Seems that just a few days ago, in the spring of 1958 I was wishing for the magic age of 14 and my time for driving lessons and a learners permit. THE permit that further fueled my addiction to roll endless miles on the highways seeking my small piece of tranquility and freedom. The highway is still calling and the quest for freedom continues.

Still seeking peace of mind and personal freedom in the form of two wheels while rollin’ over freshly dried asphalt on an endless highway with a huge NO SPEED LIMIT sign. Might find the NO SPEED LIMIT this summer at the BUB Speed Trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats. So, in an attempt to fulfill the dream, we’re in what might be called the final stages of building the ride of all rides. Of course the next build is on the drawing board with notes and sketches galore.

The 5-Ball Racing Teams Twin-Cam Raycer is happily perched on a Handy Lift with a shorter list than when we started about 2 years ago in Salem, Oregon at Rick Tedders with two pieces of bent pipe and a chalk drawing on the shop floor.

This week Dr. Willie removed the internals out of our polished Evo type transmission. We’re replacing it with a 4-bolts-to-the-engine twin cam transmission case for a solid foundation. The battery box was removed and the bottom dropped an inch for a little more room for the mandatory shit that’s hard to run without. The wiring, a bad ass, lightweight Shorai battery, fuse blocks, etc.

Were re-locating the oxygen sensor, re-engineering the Turbo mounting system then head back together.

Stay Tuned….and check out the Cantina while your trying to relax. Just shipped a Super membership package to one of our latest, lucky members.

THE SECOND BEST NEWS ITEM OF THE YEAR SO FAR– For those who have served on a jury….this one is something to think about…Just when you think you have heard everything!!

Do you like to read a good murder mystery?

Not even Law and Order would attempt to capture this mess. This is an unbelievable twist of fate!!!!

At the 1994 annual awards dinner given for Forensic Science, (AAFS)President, Dr. Don Harper Mills astounded his audience with the legal complications of a bizarre death. Here is the story:

On March 23, 1994……. the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus, and concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head.

Mr. Opus had jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit suicide..
He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency. As he fell past the ninth floor, his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing through a window, which killed him instantly.

Neither the shooter nor the deceased was aware that a safety net had been installed just below the eighth floor level to protect some building workers and that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the way he had planned.

The room on the ninth floor, where the shotgun blast emanated, was occupied by an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing vigorously and he was threatening her with a shotgun! The man was so upset that when he pulled the trigger, he completely missed his wife, and the pellets went through the window, striking Mr. Opus.

When one intends to kill subject ‘A’ but kills subject ‘B’ in the attempt, one is guilty of the murder of subject ‘B.’

When confronted with the murder charge, the old man and his wife were both adamant, and both said that they thought the shotgun was not loaded. The old man said it was a long-standing habit to threaten his wife with the unloaded shotgun. He had no intention to murder her. Therefore the killing of Mr. Opus appeared to be an accident; that is, assuming the gun had been accidentally loaded.

The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old couple’s son loading the shotgun about six weeks prior to the fatal accident.. It transpired that the old lady had cut off her son’s financial support and the son, knowing the propensity of his father to use the shotgun threateningly, loaded the gun with the expectation that his father would shoot his mother.

Since the loader of the gun was aware of this, he was guilty of the murder even though he didn’t actually pull the trigger. The case now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of Ronald Opus.

Now comes the exquisite twist… Further investigation revealed that the son was, in fact, Ronald Opus. He had become increasingly despondent over the failure of his attempt to engineer his mother’s murder.
This led him to jump off the ten-story building on March 23rd, only to be killed by a shotgun blast passing through the ninth story window.

The son, Ronald Opus, had actually murdered himself. So the medical examiner closed the case as a suicide.

A true story from Associated Press.

THE GOVERNMENT DOES IT AGAIN–Various Portions of the Government want to Charge Large Fees For Public Records.

Most believe that is because they do Not want The Public to Know What Is In them.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island has filed a lawsuit against state police and the Department of Corrections over fees for public records. The Providence Journal reported that the state affiliate of the ACLU sued the two agencies Monday on behalf of a small community group, the Olneyville Neighborhood Association.

THE LASTEST TRAVEL BOOK FROM MOTORBOOKS–Motorbooks is about to release a rip-roaring motorcycle adventure story and I wanted to offer you one of the first review copies. This is one of the most entertaining and adventurous books to come across my desk in years. Your audience would LOVE it.

Down and Out in Patagonia, Kamchatka, and Timbuktu:
Greg Frazier’s Round and Round and Round the World Motorcycle Journey

A little over 40 years ago, a man named Gregory W. Frazier got on his motorcycle, went for a ride, and never returned. He’s still out there, circumnavigating the globe: exploring the jungles of Asia in the winter, trout fishing in Alaska in the summer, and covering all points in between during the rest of the year.

He’s been shot at by rebels, jailed by unfriendly authorities, bitten by snakes, run over by Pamplona bulls, and smitten by a product of Adam’s rib. He’s circled the globe five times and has covered well over one million miles (and counting). During those past four decades, Dr. Frazier has been chronicling and photographing his around-the-world adventures, publishing 13 books on the subject (including one previous title for Motorbooks), the majority of which have been manuals for touring specific locations or general how-to-tour-by-motorcycles.

He has also produced 9 documentary DVDs on the same subject. But until now, nothing in print has encompassed the entirety of his worldwide motorcycle adventures.

Now, for the first time, he has written his on-the-road autobiography that captures the whole of his extraordinary travels in words and images. Down and Out in Patagonia, Kamchatka, and Timbuktu tells the amazing ongoing story of Dr. Frazier, one of the world’s single most well-traveled motorcyclists.

WISDOM OF AN OLDER MAN!–Regardless of Age or Gender You Know It’s
True.

An older man approached an attractive younger woman at a shopping mall.

”Excuse me; I can’t seem to find my wife. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes?”

The woman, feeling a bit of compassion for the old fellow, said, ”Of course, sir. Do you know where your wife might be?”

”I have no idea, but every time I talk to a woman with tits like yours, she seems to appear out of nowhere.”

Today Koelnmesse has the world’s fifth-largest exhibition complex and organizes approximately 75 trade fairs in Cologne and all over the world. LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES—
I found Yale’s description sorta confusing. I tell kids, “Life is all about choices!” You can choose to go to college or get drunk and chase girls. You can choose to get up and go to work or do drugs and risk losing your job. You can choose to help folks, or shine them on. Big choices and little choices, they impact your entire life or maybe just today.

It’s fascinating. If you choose to help, to build, to benefit, to learn, you can’t go wrong, and each one of these items will ultimately pay off. It’s like investing. As a young person invest in yourself through education. As an adult invest in friendships, relationships, your future, and build for the future.

So, a kid can take a 100-buck bill and choose to invest it in his motorcycle, in a painting, in his home, in a bank account, or a stock purchase. He can loan it to a friend, or he can buy a bottle of whiskey and a steak dinner, or buy drugs with it.

If you choose to invest, then sometime in the near future you’ll be able to buy that bottle of whiskey and a steak dinner for you and a girlfriend, while your investments are working for you. All about Choices.

So, make some good choices this week, and report in to Bikernet with your results.

Ride Free Forever!
