“We are looking forward to returning to Wilmington for the “Throttle Nation Top Speed Challenge’ with the goal of breaking our own record of 197.46 mph set during the Ohio Mile event held here in June,” said Thompson. “Setting new records in Ohio means a great deal to me since it is the home state of two of my loyal sponsors, CTEK Battery Chargers and JEGS, in addition to being headquarters of the American Motorcycle Association,” added Thompson.
Thompson’s Martech Services Company sponsored S1000 RR Superbike, is reportedly the world’s fastest production land speed BMW motorcycle after recording a top speed of 209.5 mph on a 1.5-mile race course at the Mojave Magnum competition earlier this year. “Wilmington has become one of my favorite racing venues due to their excellent track surface and the quality of service provided by all the ECTA volunteers who make it possible for us to race safely. I’ve also become a big fan of Graeter’s Ice Cream and Cincinnati style chili, so all of us on the team love returning to Ohio for this event,” said Thompson.
The long-standing competition was re-named the “Ohio Mile” when the event was moved from Maxton North Carolina to Wilmington Ohio when the Airborne Park facility became available earlier this year.

Streetwalker Exhaust – Envy Cycle Custom Buell In Las Vegas–I talked to a buddy of mine Mike Corbin and he said he’d sent you a copy of a very detailed ink drawing of one of Donnie Smiths bikes that he did. Don’t know if you got it, Mike’s a real talented guy. He said you were going to be at Vegas, so are we, not going to do a vendor booth but I got a couple of bikes for the show. I’m sure we’ll run into you somewhere.
Attached are a coupla pics of the Buell I just finished that we’re bring to Vegas, pretty cool little bike. Sure hope I see you there.
Take care

The Department of Corrective Services confirmed that it had seized contraband during a search of Tristan Roger Allbeury’s cell at Hakea Prison this month.
WA Police gang crime squad officers investigated whether the phone had been used to send threats in the form of text messages or through social networking site Facebook. No charges were laid.
Inmates are banned from accessing the internet while in jail. Prison officials will investigate how the contraband was smuggled into the maximum-security prison.
Allbeury was one of five Finks members jailed in February last year for contempt of the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) after they refused to answer questions about a fight with rival Coffin Cheater motorcycle club members at the Kwinana Motorplex.
Police investigating the fight as part of Operation Tri Star applied to use the CCC’s coercive powers in a secret hearing to force the bikers to answer questions about the fight.
Allbeury responded to 14 of the CCC’s questions with “fuck off” or “get fucked.”, leading Supreme Court Chief Justice Wayne Martin to find him guilty of insulting the commission.
The offence attracted three months jail on top of the two-year sentence he and his co-convicted received for refusing to answer questions. Allbeury’s earliest release date is March.
BEAN’RE – MOTORCYCLE NOMAD– Bean’re has done what many of us have only dreamt about doing; foregoing work, security, wife and kids and spending his life on two wheels having truckloads of fun. In fact one of his many nick-names is “The Mayor of Fun” and his escapades are pretty amazing to say the least.
His friend Nerisse Trombetta contributed the next section, which encompasses touring Europe and Morocco and outlines the adventures they enjoyed together. Lastly we have an account of his Australian adventures where he explored the outback, dodged venomous snakes, rode a camel and wrestled a large saltwater crocodile into submission. No wait, I made up the part about the croc, but by this stage of the book, having vicariously experienced so many of his adventures in several continents, it wouldn’t have surprised me had he done so.

Bad Uncle Monkey–Where can I put this? Where can I put that? Like most readers I’ve always got a project or two on the go. I finally picked up my uncle’s old lathe to be fixed up and hopefully put into full time duty. I also picked up a couple of old gas tiger torches and a Pioneer 620 chainsaw just so I won’t get bored. These projects are in addition to hardtailing Missus Monkey’s bike and replacing the wiring harness in Snow White. The problem is I’m out of room. My modest 11×17″ shed is full to the rafters to the point that the Missus’ bike is sitting outside while I try to find a place to store everything. I’m not fortunate enough to have a converted fish cannery on a sunny harbour like my friend so I have to make do with what I’ve got. I had hoped to be living in sunny California at this point in my life but as my granddaughter busies herself sweeping the floor and passing tools and nuts and bolts to her “papa” as I work I just might have to postpone those plans a little longer.
My mind keeps running at a frantic pace. A visit out to the family farm recently reminded me of project cars and trucks left there for this later time. As my father is nearing retirement my window is closing. I have no room for the projects I have now let a lone tackle swapping in a EFI into a ’64 Merc pickup, restoring my ’66 Galaxie, converting my ’62 Ford to a vintage police cruiser…well you get the idea. The answer could be as simple as building a new two car garage but the city has put the kybosh on that idea claiming that I can’t sacrifice the majority of my back yard to a garage structure. There is the possibility of renting space somewhere else but like most of you I’m not flush with cash. The meagre excess of cash I have to build and work on these projects would be eaten up by rent and overhead. Moving locally unfortunately seems unrealistic. Down sizing into something with a garage means lying out allot of money, not cashing in equity. There is way, there has to be. Slowly but surely I’ll find a way, find a compromise to solve my dilemma

5-Ball RACING WHEELER REPORT–
THE ADRENALINE CLOCK IS TICKING
Bonneville WORLD FINALS, 6 days, Oct. 3-6
Mojave, Ca. and Wilmington, Ohio Mile, 2 Days, Sept. 29-30
Nearing mid night Wednesday at the Beach Racing facility located in beautiful downtown Morgan Hill, Ca. Late last week we disassembled the used Busa swing arm discovering parts missing (thrust bearings) as well as needle bearings pitted and rusted. Parts were ordered from the local Suzuki dealer in Gilroy with an expected arrival after the Mojave Mile this week end.
TODAYS STATUS
The 5-Ball Raycer 124 inch, Turbo-Charged Twin Cam is now 95% road and track ready with the Bonneville and Mojave pressure relieved. Better safe and straight than crooked and sorry. Today we finished the fuel lines, just need a thorough flushing prior to final torque is needed. Tomorrow we rebuild the front forks and replace the steering head bearings while completing the build. Air lines are 90%.
Might just spend time with my favorite therapist the next few days while awaiting parts. The old gal has a fresh heart and a soul made of gold.
Don’t forget to check out the Cantina, for pennies a day or less.
