Guy at Gas Pumps

BIKERNET ALERT FOR NEW H-D RIDERS–BEWARE MOBIL GAS STATIONS WITH FAST PASS TECHNOLOGY– My son just rode to Santa Maria north of LA this weekend. He was ridingwith 25 guys and several on new bikes. When they pulled into Mobil servicestations with Fast Pass technology, it shut their security systems down andthey couldn’t start their bikes. Crazy.

Here’s the response I got from H-D engineering. The H-D Security system has been verified to operate in proximity of most Speed Pass fuel pumps – no problems there. Besides, interference like that would affect the LF (125kHz) only, and that one is very short ranged, can not affect a whole group of riders at the same time.

Unfortunately, the electromagnetic environment is something we have no control over. It is always feasible, that in some locations the level of EMI may be so high as to prevent proper reception. This is why we have the back up – the PIN disarming. Cases like this only elevate the importance of PIN disarming, and our dealers should always remind our customers about this.

We operate on the by FCC specified RF band, and with the maximum power allowed. Our receiver is super heterodyne receiver, with excellent sensitivity.

More testing is taking place but the best bet is to fill up, then push your bike 20 feet from these pumps before trying to start your bike again. That way your fob signal is not interfered with.

W8LESS ROTORS MEETS JAY LENO–Shown below is the link to a just posted video I shot with Jay Leno two weeks ago regarding W8less Products brakes. The other individual in the video is Bernard who is the head mechanic and garage manager for Jay Leno’s Garage. Jay has a very impressive collection of cars (130+), motorcycles (80+) and other things mechanical.

Jay is very much aware of what’s going on in the automotive world and was quick to appreciate the benefits that light weight brake systems can offer. Lets hope that this gives our marketing effort a “kick in the pants” and gets W8less Products brakes front and center in the marketplace.
