BOOZEFIGHTER URGENT ALERT– Urgent help is needed for Brother Slick of Chapter 94. There was an altercation that had occurred when a fellow Boozefighter was assaulted by a drunk, during a benefit, that Chapter 94 was performing for a young paraplegic student that had suffered injury in a school sports function. This drunk disrupted the benefit with the sole purpose of starting a fight and assaulting one of our members. Anyway, Brother Slick jumped in to defend a fellow Boozefighter. Needless to say, the drunk was slightly injured and is now pressing charges against Brother Slick and asking for a ridiculous amount for damages. Brother Slick has retained a lawyer but desperately needs monetary help with the lawyer fees.

Brother Slick retired from military service of 20 years and now flies a “FLIGHT FOR LIFE” helicopter for a hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. Brother Slick has spent most of his entire life in the defense of you and our freedoms and now flies helicopters to save lives. Chapter 94 is asking you for help. PLEASE, donate what you can to help Brother Slick with his legal fees.

Donations by check or money order should be made payable to ROB SMITH.Please send your donations to:

BUB EXHAUST NEWS–BUB to sell its own-brand exhaust product lines direct to dealers in North AmericaBUB Enterprises, speed-demon Denis Manning’s aftermarket exhaust manufacturing business, has announced that it has started to sell its well known own-brand Harley-Davidson replacement and aftermarket exhausts designs direct to dealers in the USA and Canada.

While Manning says he is looking to explore importer/distributor opportunities for sales in Europe, the decision to move away from distributor sales in North America “is predicated solely on sustaining the company’s ability to remain price competitive in an ever-changing market that is fraught with double-digit increases in manufacturing costs.”

Manufacturing in California since 1976, the company now occupies a 40,000 sq ft factory and 15,000 sq ft race shop and R&D facility at Grass Valley, Ca., and opened a second 40,000 sq ft factory at Janesville, Wisconsin, five years ago. Manning says they will self-distribute North American dealer orders from both locations, which gives them two-day shipping to most dealers in the United States.

The company has made huge investments in manufacturing plant and processes in recent years, with robotic polishing, metal cutting six-axis laser and hydro-forming.

Its research and development facilities includes multiple dyno set-ups and, in January 2009, the company will have completed a long-term project to build and equip its own in-house CARB recognized emissions testing and certification facility.

Until recently, the company distributed exclusively through Drag Specialties and Parts Unlimited, and will continue to develop and manufacture the legendary Rinehart Racing exhausts program that remains exclusively available through Drag Specialties.

Adding regularly to its product line, and with some “spectacular future facing” new product announcements said to be upcoming, the BUB program includes exhausts for Fl’s, Softails, Dynas, Sportsters and V-Rods.Well-known brands that have been top sellers for some time include Jug Huggers and Cross Dressers. Recent introductions have included the BUB Lakesters, Straight Aways, and designs for tourers by Carl Brouhard and Brian Klock.

Although their 2006 350.884 mph FIM-recognized world land speed record set at Bonneville at the BUB Speed Trials was recently eclipsed (congratulations Rocky!), Manning is determined to recapture “his” record and with this new business model says “I am also determined to make sure that our dealers are able to buy our exhaust designs at the best possible price. Self distribution means that we can pass substantial savings to our dealers, helping them to stay competitive with our products in these challenging times.”

BUB exhaust designs include O2 sensors and multi-stepped headers on selected fitments, a wide choice of finishes (including ceramic black) and matching accessory end cap options.

For additional information and dealer inquiries call 800 934 9739 or visit BUB’s website at www.bub.com.

A SHOP ABOUT TO BE FEATURED ON BIKERNET– I’ve got a couple of bikes that I just finished for some local rides and thought you might want to check them out.

I run a shop here in Wichita Falls, Texas and have been building bikes since I was 19. I am now 24. I try to put out a bike every couple of months. I usually try to stick to the retro bobber look but have to sway every once and a while.

I have a V-Rod build going on right now. I will send you some pics as soon as I get it off the jig. I only kept the neck and the motor, time to show Harley a badass speedster like the old Knuckleracers. I will keep you updated.

WATCH FOR THIS FEATURE IN THE NEXT IRON WORKS MAGAZINE–David Coker is an interesting personality. His father started the successful Coker Tire Company that bears his name. David could have had a cushy job there but struck out on his own by starting his own company Newstalgia Wheels.

Newstalgia is one of the largest distributors of custom wheels for hot rods and motorcycles in the country. He describes himself as ?a hot rodder with a passion for blending the old with the new?.

You can see that on his radical 1964 Panhead custom featured in the December issue of IronWorks magazine. The old motor is surrounded with brand-new innovative parts and adaptations of old parts. He says the bike gets lots of looks when he rides it at shows and other events.

Just as unique is his matching ?Rat Rod?, also pictured in IronWorks. ( Coker Image Gallery ) The rat rods have become a popular segment of the rodding community.

NEW WORLD RECORD FOR MCLAREN F1 SUPERCAR SET BY RM AUCTIONS IN ASSOCIATION WITH SOTHEBY?S– RM Auctions continued their record-breaking sales run in London, UK this evening selling a rare McLaren F1 supercar for ?2,530,000. Other highlights included a race-bred 1965 Ferrari 250 LM Berlinetta and a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France each selling for ?2,255,000.

LONDON, England (October 29, 2008) ? RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby?s, entered the history books again tonight selling a superb McLaren F1 supercar for ?2,530,000 at the highly anticipated Automobiles of London event.

Marking the first time the car has been offered since sold new by McLaren, tonight?s sale of one of the world?s fastest road cars and McLaren?s former Park Lane showroom model attracted spirited bidding. The final sales price more than doubled the pre-sale estimate.

?The world record breaking price for the McLaren F1 is a huge achievement for our London auction and confirms RM?s position as the world?s leading auction house for vintage automobiles,? said Max Girardo, Managing Director of RM Auctions European Division.

?The ?2.5 million sale price redefined the market for these superb vehicles. The McLaren F1 is quite simply one of the most contemporary cars ever produced and tops a sale that has again shown that great cars attract great prices. We are now looking forward to building on tonight?s results at our next European event in Maranello, Italy on May 17, 2009,? he added.

It was standing room only at the seven-hour sale as 100 of the world?s finest vintage motor cars went under the hammer before an international audience. A series of intense bidding contests developed throughout the evening, which in addition to the record-breaking McLaren sale, saw a 1965 Ferrari 250 LM Berlinetta and the 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France each fetch ?2,255,000 indicating the continued strength of the sports and racing segment of the market. Other notable highlights included an ultra-rare 1938 Horch 853 Special Roadster which sold for ?1,127,500 and a stunning 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante which brought ?660,000.

In addition to the vintage motor cars, the event presented eleven creative customs by UK artist, Andy Saunders, who has been billed as the Damien Hirst of the car world. Described as ?drivable art? in its truest sense, highlights of this unique offering included: the remarkable 1958 Ford X-2000 Recreation for ?41,250 and the incredible 1983 Bentley ?Mentley Insanne? for ?18,700.

RM Auctions? will return to Europe in May for the highly anticipated Ferrari Leggenda e Passione event at the legendary Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy.

Full sales results will be posted on www.rmauctions.com . MUSIC – BABES – CHOPPERS Take a look at the O School Chopper Boys…
