Did you know that Japanese manufacturer Yamaha had started making musical instruments, decades ago? The musical instrument business has been booming for Yamaha since then, and of course, so is the motorcycle, ATV and side-by-side business.
Could Yamaha soon be a player in the automotive game too? With the unveiling of its new concept car at Japan’s 43rd annual international automotive event, there’s little doubt now. It’s actually not the first time Yamaha has strayed from its two-wheel comfort zone. Yamaha has been building high-performance engines for automotive manufacturers since 1967 when it partnered with Toyota to build the first Japanese supercar — the 2000GT.
