Mustang Trike Seats A Hit In Sturgis

Best rally ever? Although official traffic counts are still pending, all indications are that the 75th Anniversary of the Sturgis Rally brought in an estimated 1 million bikers. The record crowds were no shock, however the interest in Mustang’s latest seat for Harley-Davidson’s FLRT Freewheeler three-wheeler was a pleasant surprise.

79592_app_2“We just wanted to show off the new Freewheeler seat, but had not anticipated the amount of interest it was going to generate,” admits Mustang Seats’ Rallymeister John Glynn. He attributes a more mature demographic, the fact the riders are staying in the saddle longer than ever before and the sheer number of people at Sturgis to Mustang’s successful launch of the new trike seat.

Traffic at both Mustang’s locations in the Black Hills was up considerably compared to last year. “The star of the show really was our three-wheeler seat at both locations,” he adds.

This seat was designed with Freewheeler riders specifically in mind. The comfort level is second to none while the clean look and feel of the expanded vinyl cover and detailed automotive-inspired stitching has to be experienced first-hand. With Mustang’s marine-grade fiberglass pan and all-day-comfort foam supporting the rider in the ideal cruising posture, racking up the miles to Sturgis or wherever your road trips may take you are no problem.

“With a Mustang seat, you can ride your Freewheeler all day, every day,” claims Glynn. The seat features a front bucket drain hole, matching fully-adjustable driver backrest and built-in driver backrest receiver (note, this will not work with a frame-mounted backrest kit). In addition to the standard seating position, Mustang offers a “forward” version. The Forward Touring moves the rider 2″ forward on the motorcycle for easier steering, something to take into account on a trike.
