Discover Wisconsin Airs “Motorcycle Through Wisconsin”

Beloit, Milwaukee, Door County and the Ashland Area are featured in an upcoming episode of Discover Wisconsin. “Motorcycling Through Wisconsin” airs July 27-28 and will reach more than 480,000 viewers across the Midwest including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Illinois and Upper Michigan. The episode was a collaborative effort between Beloit Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Ashland County & Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, Door County Visitor Bureau, the Harley-Davidson Museum® and Discover Wisconsin.

“Custom bike shows, vintage motorcycle rallies, MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant and a tsunami motorcycle exhibit represent just a small sampling of what visitors can experience at the Harley-Davidson Museum,” said Lisa Remby, marketing manager for the Harley-Davidson Museum. “It’s a must-stop for motorcycle enthusiasts and we were thrilled to partner with Discover Wisconsin to show the rest of the Midwest what we have to offer.”

This upcoming episode of Discover Wisconsin shares Wisconsin’s passion for the road by taking viewers on a statewide motorcycle tour and highlighting unique points of interest within each region. In addition to the state’s top riding destinations, “Motorcycling Through Wisconsin” also covers entertainment venues, shopping destinations, scenic parks and landmarks. Area residents and motorcyclists played an important role during the production of this episode as several were featured as riders or guides for host Emmy Fink.

Motorcycling Through Wisconsin” debuts in Beloit, the gateway of Wisconsin, where a Beloit resident shows Fink to the local farmer’s market, scenic parks, landmarks and unique shops. The crew then jets north to the Lake Superior area, where the Historic Murals in downtown Ashland are featured, as well as the natural beauty of Madeline Island, Copper Falls State Park and some great scenic roads in the area. In Milwaukee, Bill Davidson gives Fink a behind-the-scenes history lesson on Harley-Davidson and the motorcycle sound that made Milwaukee famous. The show wraps up with a trip back north to Door County, home to authentic fish boils, beautiful county and state parks, eleven lighthouses, as well as the Wisconsin Motorcycle Memorial, located just north of Sturgeon Bay.

“As we shot this episode, it became increasingly clear why motorcyclists love riding in Wisconsin,” said Danielle Bernard, writer and producer for Discover Wisconsin. “The beauty and scenery of the entire state is unparalleled when you take it all in on a motorcycle. We have Lake Superior to the north, Lake Michigan to the east, Mississippi River to the west and 15,000 lakes scattered in between.”
