Understanding the World of Chopper Magazines

The Ups and Downs of Print Media by Bandit and a handful of Editors I thought I might check in on the Motorcycle Magazine industry, specifically the chopper guys. F***, I didn’t know what I was diving into. A couple of years ago only one magazine survived the cost issues, the internet competition and the distribution expenses, Cycle Source. Some magazines went sorta underground, changed their formats and dropped out of the retail market. Then Chopper Magazine returned with a large glossy format, quality printing but subscription only. Feuling Vented Dipstick

by Rogue Easy to Install, Works Well Feuling Billet Dipsticks are made In America and they vent excessive crankcase pressure from the oil tank on Harley Touring Models through a PCV style breather. Blow-by is pressure that is forced past the rings and cylinder walls and ends up in the crankcase and then into the oil tank. All internal combustion engines have a certain amount of crankcase pressure and it does increase with miles. The Vented Dipstick is easy to install, but I still suggest reading the sheet of instructions that come with it before starting installing this product. Discovering British V-Twin Classics

Could there be a Connection? by Bandit and crew, including the National Motorcycle Museum “Recently, I spotted this BSA V-Twin and was inspired first by the fact that BSA manufactured a V-Twin but then by the styling that called out Brough Superior. Two motorcycles dominated the upscale V-Twin market in the UK during the early 1900s. Vincent and Brough Superior, so I was astounded to discover this BSA from the National Motorcycle Museum. I’ll let you kick around what I found and let me know your thoughts. Hell, someone surely knows something that may connect these bikes.” — Bandit Get inside the Cantina, Catch-up to speed with this V-Twin….Click Start Now * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Know benefits and free swag you get from Cantina Membership, Click Here!

Old Harley Clutch Wars

Never Give Up! By Bandit with photos by Buck Lovell “This tech will be amazing. I built this 1950 Panhead during the Covid thing, so we called it the Pandemic. We fought with a magneto for a year and finally slipped in a used automatic advance distributor and it started first kick, with a Mike Egan R.I.P. rebuilt M-35 Linkert. We ran into another issue. The clutch dragged. Who the fuck knows? After working on old Harley 4-speed clutches for over 50 years, I was blown away to find out so much about the bastards.” READ This epic Tech with Photos only on Bikernet.com, Click Here… * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Find more Tech for your free use by visiting Techs & Builds Section — Click Here.

The Minneapolis Blonde : Girls of Bikernet.com

Just Walking to High School By Bandit Suddenly, we have two Girls of Bikernet coming to the Cantina. So, what’s the story line. I don’t have one, but I’ll tell you my thoughts and see where it leads. First, I was determined to write another Why Chop? story about a guy who builds his first chopper for love, romance or a girl. He’s not a great looking guy, athletic, or tough, but he wants to impress this particular girl. He watched her from afar and discovers the glint in her warm brown eyes when a flashy motorcycle or hot rods rolls past. * Get all the eXclusive content on Bikernet.com – Click and Subscribe to Bandit’s Cantina *

Lil’ Ruby: Another addition for The Chopper Saga

by Johnny White Lil’ Ruby is what I have named her, but this came after I bought her from the original builder this Summer. You see, Lil’ Ruby started life as a 2002 Sportster that my son-in-law bought in 2015. He bought the bike from another young man who needed cash more than he needed a Sporty, and my SIL had cash in hand. He rode it home to his mother’s house and estimated he had the motor out of the frame less than 2 hours later. The Harley Sportster wasn’t his goal though. He planned before he purchased the bike. You see, he devised his strategy long before his purchase, and since a Sporty is the cheapest H-D motor he could get, well then that’s what he went with. He was on a mission to build a tight little chopper/ bobber that he could ride through town and not see another exactly like it anywhere. Kawasaki Rider Jason Anderson Secures Consecutive Podium Finish

Monster Energy® Kawasaki Rider Jason Anderson Secures Consecutive Podium Finish at Washougal July 23, 2022 | Washougal MX Park | Washougal, Wash. Foothill Ranch, Calif. (July 24, 2022) – Round 8 of the 2022 AMA Pro Motocross Championship headed to the Pacific Northwest in Washougal, Washington, where Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson claimed his fourth overall podium finish with a third-place result. Fellow Monster Energy® Kawasaki rider Joey Savatgy capitalized on two superb starts to earn seventh overall with 7-7 moto scores. In the 250 Class, Monster Energy®/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Jo Shimoda mastered the forests of Washougal to claim third overall (3-3), while teammate Seth Hammaker battled to respectable 5-8 moto finishes for sixth overall. The evergreens of the Pacific Northwest provided a picturesque background for the 41st running of the Washougal MX National as a sea of fans cheered on the world’s elite motocross racers. Drastic changes in elevation, dark shadows and mixed soil conditions offered unique challenges for all riders from the start of qualifying. The 450 Class qualifying sessions began with both Anderson and Savatgy recording lap times inside the top-10 before electing to make slight bike adjustments to better suit the slick track conditions. As the second qualifying session began winding down, Anderson recorded a 2:11.361 lap time to qualify third overall. An accident towards the end of the second session cost Savatgy the opportunity to better his 2:14.155 time from the first session but was still fast enough to rank the No.17 ninth fastest heading into Moto 1. The start of 450 Moto 1 would see both Monster Energy Kawasaki riders emerge from the first turn inside the top-5. Anderson and Savatgy utilized the power of their KX™450SR motorcycles to keep the leaders within reach early on. A mistake by Anderson on Lap 2 would
