Mission Accomplished at XDA’s Bike Bash

DESPITE A POOR WEATHER FORECAST, XDA racers delivered an unstoppable performance for the 3rd Annual Bike Bash at Virginia Motorsports Park. With a tropical storm off the east coast, the daily weather forecast for the Bike Bash was on a magic carpet ride. However, XDA racers WANT TO RACE and showed up ready to rock the quarter-mile. The Millers modified the schedule, and the quarter-mile was humming all weekend. The event was forty-five minutes away from completion on Sunday when a large weather cell came through to end the party prematurely. Four classes will finish their final rounds at the Bike Brawl on September 10-12, 2021 at Virginia Motorsports Park. With 561 entries, the Pro classes delivered with a very tight field of competitive racing, our sportsman racers kept the show rolling with the toughest bracket racing in the game; and the Team Money Cycles Sound Off and Custom Bike Show kept the dial turned up all weekend. Orient Express Racing Pro Street The Orient Express Racing Pro Street racers continued to improve their performance standings as Virginia delivered cooler temperatures for these 650+ horsepower machines. Justin Shakir took the number one qualifying spot on Friday night with a 6.505 before Rodney Williford knocked Shakir down a rung on Saturday with a 6.464 pass. During the Saturday qualifying session Darion Payne improved his personal best ET to a 6.652 and broke the 220mph barrier with a 221.42mph run. Curtis Brown also improved with a 7.011, and we expect to see his first six-second pass at the next race. In round one of eliminations, James Waugh poked his head into the 220mph barrier running 220.33mph and improving his ET to a 6.601 while winning over Ryan Hable. Rodney Williford had an earned bye, along with Jason Dunigan and Shakir’s broke bye

Ozark Moonshine Run Route Distance: 113 miles with 662 curves Gasoline Locations: Harrison, Jasper, Mt. Judea, Deer, Compton Time Frame: 2 hours, 52 minutes The Ozark Moonshine Run is without a doubt the most picturesque route in the Ozarks! The route encompasses parts of Scenic Highway 7 and winds through the deepest parts of the Ozark Mountains. Along the route you can expect to see magnificent views, ancient bluff lines, and the possibility of majestic elk grazing in their natural habitat. Parts of the route make you feel like you have stepped back in time to a slower paced lifestyle. You will see many attractions along the way, so take your time and enjoy the scenery; but be careful of the many curves along this route. Some parts can be tricky and slightly dangerous. Directions: Depart Harrison on Scenic AR Highway 7 South heading to Jasper. Travel through Jasper on AR Highway 7 to AR Highway 374 East on your left. AR Highway 374 will join AR Highway 123 where you will turn right. Follow AR Highway 123 through Mt. Judea (pronounced Judy) until it intersects with AR Highway 7 North. AR Highway 123 splits, so be careful to follow the route leading to AR Highway 7 North. Follow AR Highway 7 North/Highway 16 to the intersection of AR Highway 16 on your left. Highway 16 will take you through the communities of Deer, Nail and Swain. AR Highway 16 intersects with AR Highway 21, where you will travel north into Boxley Valley. Three Amazing Motorcycles You Can Buy Brand New for Less Than $10K

by Todd Halterman from https://www.autoevolution.com If you’re in the market for a new motorcycle, you could do worse than these three versatile, cruiser-style rides, and the best news is that you can have any of them showroom-new for under $10,000. And in yet more interesting news, two of the three are American. The 2021 Kawasaki Vulcan S ABS comes in at a wallet-friendly $7,599 and it represents a middleweight hybrid with somewhat brawny underpinnings. While it’s big and powerful enough to appeal to riders who require sporty performance, it also offers cushy ergonomics designed to suit nearly any rider size, no matter their skill level. The Vulcan S is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin taken from the Ninja 650 line, and it also boasts a wide range of available adjustments for the seat, the footpegs, and handlebar positions. The 2022 models offer a base-model Vulcan S (sorry, no ABS included), and that’s what makes the 2021 model such an excellent value. For 2021, the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 comes in at the top of the range, and at $9,749, it offers an opportunity to join the HD fraternity at a price that won’t cause hiccups in a tight budget. The Iron 883 does have the Sportster lineage American riders often prefer, and it’s a bit of a throwback with some stripped-down street cred. Featuring a low solo seat height, nearly naked bike bodywork and the venerable 883cc, air-cooled V-Twin, there’s no doubt it’s an HD. And in a departure, it also happens to be the lightest, lowest, and most new-rider-friendly bike in the HD lineup. For your cash, you get low down bars, a low seat height, and a lowered suspension. Unfortunately, should you want ABS braking, you’ll find yourself over the target as that feature puts another $795 on
