Mustang Rides Into Sturgis

Perewitz Prototype Unveiled, Sturgis Sweepstakes & More

They used to say “all roads lead to Rome” but these days all roads lead to Sturgis for the 73rd Annual Rally. With the motorcycle world congregating in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Mustang Motocycle Products, LLC decided it was time to take the wraps off a Signature Series seat line, as well as reward loyal customers with some Rally specials, not to mention awarding some serious swag.

Perhaps the biggest news was legendary New England bike builder Dave Perewitz dropping by the Mustang big rig at Black Hills Harley-Davidson® to show off his new Signature Series seat. A collaborative effort between Perewitz’s design talents and Mustang master craftsmen, the seat is steeped in shared New England Heritage. “There is no mistaking a bike built by Perewitz… just as there is no mistaking this seat,” says Mustang’s Product Manager Matt Kulman. “Perewitz knows style, Mustang knows comfort and together we make a pretty good team!”

More details of the Perewitz Signature Series seats will be announced on Mustang’s website soon. In the meantime, there is still plenty of time for Rally goers to take advantage of Mustang’s specials, including free installation at both the big rig at Black Hills HD and at the J&P Store on Lazelle. In keeping with the Mustang philosophy of “It’s All About The Ride” Mustang takes the worry about what to do with your old seat out of the equation by shipping it back from Sturgis for free so that you can enjoy the rest of your ride.

Speaking of Sturgis, Mustang will be giving away a Journey Bag to the person whose name is drawn from the entry box at the end of the Rally. The winner can choose from either a studded or standard Journey Bag. Just visit the Mustang truck at Black Hills Harley-Davidson to fill out an entry form; no purchase required… the winner will be notified by e-mail.

Mustang’s Journey Bag offers a classic look with surprising capacity, handling extended trips — such as riding to Sturgis — with ease. Measuring 18” tall x 14” deep x 20” wide, the total storage capacity, including the three side compartments, is a whopping 3,744 cubic inches. Whether mounted on the passenger seat or a luggage rack, the combination of the semi-rigid construction and the integrated adjustable backrest provide ample lumbar support.
