On March 2, Avon Tyres-sponsored Victory Stunt Team rider Joe Dryden set a new Guinness World Record for the longest motorcycle burnout on Storm 3D X-M 160/70R17 (rear) and Cobra 130/70R18 (front) tires.

The 2.23-mile record shattering burnout on a 2017 Victory Octane was completed at Orlando Speed World where Dryden smoked more than seven impressive laps.

“We’re proud to count Joe and Tony among an elite group of Avon-sponsored riders, and we were thrilled to hear that Joe had succeeded in this record setting run,” said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing for Avon Motorcycle Tyres North America. “Seeing the Avon Storm 3D X-M stand up to more than seven smoky laps was incredible.”

An official Guinness World Records adjudicator was on site for the attempt. He certified the new record and presented the award certificate to Dryden whose Victory Stunt Team partner and friend Tony Carbajal was standing by to help him celebrate. Carbajal had also sought the record on Avon tires that day, but it was Dryden who found the perfect recipe – managing throttle, break and clutch as only an award-winning athlete can.

Victory Stunt Team riders Dryden and Carbajal are among the world’s most accomplished performers on full-sized V-twin bikes. Dryden, who began riding dirt bikes at age six, transitioned to Street Bike Freestyle at the age 20 and is considered a pioneer in the sport. He has earned multiple awards and championships along with a resume of stunt work for film and television. For more information on the Storm 3D X-M and Cobra tires, visit www.AvonMoto.com/Products.
