How To Choose A Klock Werks’ Flare Windshield

One size does not fit all, and that’s why Klock Werks developed a variety of windshield heights for many models so riders can find a fit that really works. Find the right Flare™ for your stance with new vertical height measurements.

If you can, always “Try It Before You Buy It!” Klock Werks set up a test pilot program with dealers all over the world that allows customers to try the windshields at no cost and no obligation. This is the best way to find what works for you.

But, if you can’t get to a dealer, how do you find the right height? When choosing a Klock Werks Flare™ Windshield, we suggest that you look over it. When you know where you line of sight is, you can make an educated decision about which Flare™ to purchase according to the vertical height of each shield.

“The ability to see over the windshield not only gives you the clearest view of what’s ahead of you, but it also puts your head and shoulders in the sweet-spot of the air managed by the windshield,” Jennifer Bainbridge, Klock Werks Lead R&D explained.

To find your line of sight, you may need an extra hand! Sit on your motorcycle and try to recreate your usual riding position. If you slouch often when you ride, take that into account. With a ruler or tape measure, have your helper measure vertically from the center of your stock windshield. Be certain the measuring device is straight as possible. At what measurement does your line of sight lie? Now that you know, choose a Flare™ with a vertical height that is LESS THAN that measurement.

If you ride two-up frequently, consider your passenger’s line of sight. You may want to choose an option with more coverage. Please note, choosing a Flare based on your line of sight does NOT guarantee the best overall air management possible. This method, while 95% accurate, cannot recreate the actual experience of riding. Use the dealer locator at getklocked.com to find a dealer nearest you to “Try It Before You Buy It.”
