South Dakota transportation officials say the number of vehicles that entered the city of Sturgis for the 75th annual motorcycle rally was the highest for the event since 2005. The Transportation Department count shows that about 511,000 vehicles were in and around Sturgis from Aug. 4-10, about a 31 percent increase last year. The record number of vehicles recorded since the state began keeping totals was more than 604,000 in 2000.
