The Sturgis Buffalo Chip has announced that with 10 days until the 72nd Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, only a few spots remain for the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s Legends Ride, the annual ride that kicks off the Rally. The Legends Ride on Monday, August 6, pairs Rally-goers with celebrities and top-bike builders on a 55-mile scenic, escorted ride from historic Deadwood to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, and the 5th annual Ride is on the verge of its fifth consecutive sellout.

100% riders contributions for the Legends Ride – The Ride that Rocks™ – will benefit Black Hills Special Olympics and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame. The event has raised more than $240,000for local charities since its inception four years ago.

Tickets for the ride are $150. The charitable contribution entitles contributors to pre- and post-ride events in Deadwood and at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, free parking in Deadwood and at The Chip, complimentary food and drinks prior to the concert, meet-and-greet opportunities with master builders and celebrities, a special souvenir gift pack and an exclusive reception, entrance to the Motorcycles as Art exhibition, live auction, and concerts by legendary rockers Loverboy , Saving Abel and Journey. Tickets can be purchased at www.LegendsRide.com or by calling (605) 347-9000. With tickets in short supply, those interested are encouraged to act quickly.

“In just four short years the Legends Ride has found a place on the bucket list of Rally riders. Not only is it a great ride with industry leaders and celebrities, it’s also for a great cause,” said George Milos, executive director of the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce. “There’s no better way to kick off the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.”

The Legends Ride begins on Deadwood’s famed Main Street as the Silverado-Franklin and the Deadwood Tobacco Company roll out the red carpet for motorcyclists from around the world. Riders will revel in the unique atmosphere of this Wild West town as they celebrate a day with celebrities, builders, artists and cigar aficionados and be immortalized in a special group photo by renowned motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter. The 500-plus riders and passengers will then head on a 55-mile route through some of the Black Hills’ most beautiful landscapes via pristine stretches of asphalt.

“Bikers are a generous lot, the Legends Ride being proof positive,” said Rod Woodruff, owner of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “The Ride assembles industry leaders, generous sponsors and civic-minded riders; a perfect formula for a highly successful event.”
