Labor Day weekend in Iowa marks one of the largest antique motorcycle swap meets and vintage flat-track races in the United States, hosted by theChief Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA), and it’s going to take place just down the road from J&P Cycles’ headquarters.
This year’s AMCA Fall National is set for Thursday, Aug. 30, through Saturday, Sept. 1, at theMississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport. The three-day event annually attracts riders and families from across the country, drawn to the dirt track to watch vintage motorcycles compete.
Other big draws include hundreds of bikes on display, a parts swap meet, craft fair, cocktail party, a Saturday night banquet, free movie and even church services conducted by the Victory Riders Christian Motorcycle Association. And if you’re in a learning mode, seminars and classes are scheduled on a variety of motorcycle-related topics, including flathead power, plating and accident scene management.
Best of all, since you’re already in our neck of the woods, go ahead and make that short ride up to Anamosa and visit our headquarters at J&P Cycles. Then spend some time at the nearby National Motorcycle Museum.

"We were really blown away by their last build and excited to be part of this one", explained Progressive's Director of Marketing , David Zemla. The eCaddy Ball Motorcycle Mount might just be the simplest, most classy way to mount your GPS on a Motorcycle!
It works with any GPS that has a 17mm ball “receiver” either on the back of the GPS itself or an adapter plate that attaches to the GPS (often received in the GPS kit). This is a common design in Garmin Nuvi, Magellan and other GPS models. Just snap the GPS directly onto the ball mount. The GPS rotates/tilts just as it does in your car!
The faceted lug on the stem gives you six mounting options to choose from, and the base bracket includes UltraSecurity and anti-vibration features.
All parts are made to last in the USA. No plastic parts, no scratched bars!
Large wheels need large fenders, and Sinister is the place to go if you want to cover that 26-inch rim on your bagger. All Sinister fenders are manufactured from space-age composite materials for long life. These John Shope-styled fenders hug that front wheel tire assembly to accentuate the sleek styling of virtually any custom Bagger or chopper utilizing big wheel styling. The fenders require neck rake modifications for proper clearance and appearance. See your local Sinister Industries dealer or contact John Shope at 623-465-5263, firstname.lastname@example.org, www.sinisterindustries.com
My message: Do not show up on a motorcycle because the WONT let you in. I drove from LA and am a moto-journalist doing a story…hell I didn't even know motorcycles are NOT ALLOWED! Does this happen often I exclaimed… "All the time" the guard told me as he pointed to the exit.
