Excited to add to its growing line up of August music festival artists, the Sturgis Buffalo Chip announced today the most influential reggae rock band of all time, Sublime with Rome, will join the list of performers at its annual camping, motorcycle and music festival August 2-11, 2013 during the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota. Sublime with Rome, scheduled to roll into the Buffalo Chip on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 will join 9 full days of festival concerts that include ZZ Top, Toby Keith, Queensrÿche, Brantley Gilbert and many more. Sublime with Rome performed to an excited audience at the Buffalo Chip music festival in 2012 during the Sturgis motorcycle rally and will return again in 2013 to give fans another dose of their epic concert performance. On tour with a streak of sold-out shows, Sublime with Rome is expected to perform Sublime favorites such as “40 Oz. to Freedom,” “Santeria,” “What I Got” among hits from their new album, “Yours Truly,” as part of their Sturgis concert performance. “Yours Truly”, which was released in summer of 2011, is heralded as a fusion between classic Sublime tunes and new rejuvenating melodies contributed by lead singer Rome.  The Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride announced Wednesday afternoon it has moved its midpoint stopover from a Madison shopping center to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

The move was necessary because the once vacant shopping center will be occupied as the new home of the Sci-Quest Hands-on Learning Center.

Using the space museum, home to the massive Saturn V rocket, brings several advantages for the ride, said Rod Wheeler, one of the original eight riders of the event that started in 1994.

Foremost is the museum is a great tourist attraction, which will help the commemorative ride draw more riders, he said. In addition, it keeps the stop near the middle of the trek from Bridgeport to Waterloo, meeting the need for a gas stop. Lastly, Huntsville public safety officials already understand the complexities of handling the miles of riders rolling through the city.
