Nut Run to Bruce's Bar in Severance, Colorado

The Annual pilgrimage for Rocky Mountain Oysters
You can’t miss Severance, its just down the road a little bit and Bruce’s is in the middle of town. A restaurant and bar that has been serving good food and cold beer since 1957, Bruce’s has made Severance famous.
In 1959 Bruce Ruth took a gamble and started serving Rocky Mountain Oysters, this eventually put Bruce’s and Severance on the map. As you pull into town you see a sign with the town slogan, “Town of Severance – Where the Geese Fly and the Bulls Cry”. This area of Colorado has long been known for geese hunting and Bruce’s is the place to stop for a drink after a long day in the field.

I Don’t Want To Hear You Now

From Sam Kanish of IWBlogger
I recently came across a couple examples of why I didn’t and still haven’t fully embraced the high tech instant communication era that we now live in. First of all a couple nights ago at our regularly scheduled dinner ride a guy showed up with one of those blue tooth (?) things that looks like a big cockroach stuck in his ear. Since he’s retired, not a doctor or drug dealer, isn’t married and doesn’t have a girlfriend I wondered aloud what could be so important that he needed to be able to field a phone call while he was riding his bike. Maybe his dog had a phone and was calling to bring home more Milk Bones.
Call me old fashioned, or just plain old but what’s the point? I mean I cut my motorcycling teeth during Harley’s “Great American Freedom Machine” era. Back then people rode motorcycles to get away from work, problems at home or with that significant other. A bike was a sanctuary, your own private little space and no one could invade it, that‘s part of what the Freedom meant. Take a ride and clear your head.
Then the very next day I was in a shop watching as the service manager and sales manager were trying to program the ‘Infotainment’ center on a 2014 Street Glide. They were having a little problem doing it. It seems someone in or near the shop had left his Smartphone on (don’t look at me, there’s no use of a dummy carrying a Smartphone) and every time someone called his phone it was ringing in on the new Street Glide.
Looking around the showroom they spotted a guy and asked him if XXX-XXXX his brother’s phone number. When he said yes and asked how they knew that they asked him if he had a Smartphone and had left it on. He said yes and it was in the tour pack of his bike which was parked downstairs in the service area. Once he shut the phone off they finally got the bike programmed. Now if those two, who are supposed to have been trained on how to do that stuff have problems imagine what will happen when someone who couldn’t program his VCR tries to program his bike.
Like I said I’m now enamored with gadgets. Back when I bought my Ultra in 1996 one of the options was an intercom system so the rider and passenger could communicate. When asked if I wanted it I said no. I mean how much effort does it take to turn your head and say, “No, I’m not lost.” and “No, I’m not stopping again so you can pee.”
Raising $1 Million For Women Affected By Breast Cancer
By Bandit | | General Posts
The Harley-Davidson family of riders and fans has a promise for women affected by breast cancer: You’re not alone, because we ride with you.
These riders and fans added extra horsepower to that promise by raising more than $1 million for organizations that support and empower women affected by breast cancer through the purchase of Harley-Davidson® Genuine MotorClothes® Pink Label Collection apparel and merchandise.
“The brave and courageous women who have shared with us stories of battling breast cancer are the inspiration for the Pink Label Collection,” said Karen Davidson, Creative Director of General Merchandise and granddaughter of a Harley-Davidson Motor Company founder. “The custom Pink Label gear is a powerful way for riders and enthusiasts to express their support for the one in eight women in the United States who are diagnosed with this disease.”
The financial support begins with the purchase of any H-D Pink Label item. Three percent of the suggested retail price of Pink Label merchandise is donated to organizations like the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Young Survival Coalition that support women affected by breast cancer.
Thanks to the generosity of Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders, fans and dealers, the Pink Label Collection generated more than $1 million for such organizations since its inception in 2010. And that’s just the beginning.
For 2014, the new and expanded H-D Pink Label Collection includes 88 iconic items, each with the power to make a difference. Visit h-d.com/pinklabel to learn more.
Nation News Promotes New York Incident As Motorcyclists Being The Bad Guys
By Bandit | | General Posts
This is typical of Major Media and one reason why motorcycle magazines like COLORS and Easyriders were started – So the other side of the story would be told and the Truth Come Out. NBC report here.
We need to continue to do this. Further investigation into this Must Happen and if necessary a national outcry to see that it does.
By @gurber78 “Justice for Jay Meezee! The news tries to paint the motorist as the victim while this is the real victim. Meezee who was run over by the Un named …motorist for absolutely no reason is in a medically induced coma. He will never walk again. Paralyzed from the waist down with a laundry list of severe injuries. Every single media group is running the misleading story that no one was hurt. That this was a justified act. They are trying to make it seem that this gentleman whom will never get to walk his daughter down the isle…, doesn’t even exist in this equalization. Lets not get the story confused! There was a crime committed… Repost this. Make them dig deeper. Don’t let them sweep this under the rug. They got the world believing a lie.”
