In January, Shelby Automobiles, Inc., and Rucker Performance announced plans to build “The Shelby”, a limited production Carroll Shelby/Rucker Performance motorcycle, which debuted at the Cincinnati V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 2, 2007. Twenty five collector motorcycles are now available for purchase from Rucker Performance, each numbered individually and complete with Rucker Performance’s signature custom paint. So far, five numbers have been claimed by individuals and dealers who are anxious to own one of the most sought after motorcycles ever produced in the custom bike industry. Two of these exclusive Shelby bikes will be traveling over 8,000 miles to debut in Russia through the dealership Custom American Motorcycles, LLC. Alexis Rezvi, owner of Custom American Motorcycles, LLC, put down a deposit as soon as he could to reserve the specific numbers he desired. Nationally reknowned motorcycle attorney Russ Brown also jumped on the opportunity to own the collector motorcycle. After years of working in the industry, Russ Brown has seen a range of motorcycles and is looking forward to owning such an exclusive bike. Rucker Performance’s Chief Officer of Operations, Erin Rucker comments on the popularity of the Shelby and the recongnition it has brought to the company. “We continue to see the growing demand for the Shelby bikes and are excited to begin production. It has been an honor to work with race legend Carroll Shelby and his team.” Please continue checking the website for more information and updates at www.theshelbymotorcycle.com. CANTINA TECH OF THE WEEKEND, ASH CAN DESTROY YOUR VEHICLE’S FINISH– Just a quick heads up for my fellow vehicle lovers here in San Diego. The ash from the Fire Storm, that we are finding everywhere, can be very destructive to our vehicle’s finishes. Dry ash isn’t the problem, it’s when it gets wet and turns into an Acid that the problem. We had some sprinkles the other day and today there is moisture everywhere and that means the Ash is wet and that means it’s now an ACID!!! The fix is simple, Wash Your Car! I’ve washed my cars almost everyday since we were let back into our home. I suggest you do the same if you care about your vehicle’s finish. I hope you will heed my warning. My sister didn’t and had to have her car repainted after the Cedar Fire because of ash/acid damage. RUCKER PERFORMANCE GOES GREEN– FORT WORTH – November 1, 2007 – “Going Green” is a growing trend among Americans, and Rucker Performance is proud to be at the head of the curve. Rucker Performance’s concern with emissions and recycling practices prove that the company is among the leaders of the industry in social responsibility and environmental concern. Before the 2008 emissions regulations were published, Rucker Performance was already preparing for them. Rucker Performance bikes were among the first to pass all 2008 emission tests, even for the state of California. “Our research and development team worked hard to prepare for the new regulations and we continue to be proactive in lowering emissions, without lowering quality standards, on all Rucker Performance bikes,” said Erin Rucker, Chief Operations Officer. Rucker Performance also takes an active role in recycling paper, metal and plastic products used daily around the facility. In addition, certain materials are reused to further eliminate waste. Rucker Performance is continuously looking for new ways to protect and enhance the environment, starting with the commitment to “Go Green.” For more information on Rucker Performance’s environmental practices, feel free to check out the website at www.ruckerperformance.com or call 817-838-3200 to speak with a Rucker Performance team member. He fought Cancer, while living and working for Drag Specialties for over three years. He retired from Drag just a couple of weeks ago. Gene had a lot of class and dealt with the cards life dealt with a smile on his face right up to the end. He went to Bonneville with us for the second year in a row and did whatever he could for our 5-Ball racing team. He will always be apart of our team. AVON, JARED PETERSON AND HIS COMPELLING STORY, CALLED ENLIGHTENMENT– You may have received several of these requests, but I feel compelled to ask as well. Do you have a contact email for Jared Peterson from Avon Tyres US or could I send something to you and have it forwarded to him? I read his piece and felt like he had read my mind. I was in an accident in March (Lady hit my rear tire and plowed me into a median). That had me in the hospital for just shy of six months. I’m recovering well and should be riding again next spring, but I wanted to thank him for writing that, it helped me unfuck alot of the shit in my head that I was trying unsuccessfully to cope with.
