In 1948, the WHO held the First World Health Assembly. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950, as the World Health Day. International Beaver Day is annually celebrated on April 7. Beavers Wetlands & Wildlife (B.W.W. ), a non-profit organisation with members in the United States, Canada, and other countries, created the holiday in 2009.
