Thanksgiving Bikernet Weekly News for Thanksgiving 2021

By General Posts

Riding Free for 25 Years

Hey,

Happy Thanksgiving from the Bikernet and 5-Ball crew. We want you to know how much we appreciate your support over the years.

We all have so much to be thankful for this Holiday season. We have been lucky Mofo’s forever.

Hell, young builders don’t even know how lucky they are to be able to score parts at a swap meet and go to work building a bike, unhampered by a myriad of government agencies.

Ask some brothers in Europe, where every product must be approved by maybe not one, but a group of government agencies.

There are so many folks and aspects of American life to be thankful for. We are living in the best of times.

Have a terrific day, and take a moment to reflect on how good we have it in America, because it is the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Ride fast and free, forever!

Veterans Day Bikernet Weekly News for November 11th, 2021

By General Posts

It’s Crazy It’s Wonderful

The world is nuts. Did you see that Germany won’t sign the declaration to eliminate internal combustion vehicles?

Yet, none of our internal combustion organizations or publications in the United States, like the AMA, Rider Magazine, SEMA, MRF, Dice Magazine, NCOM, Easyriders, NHRA, Auto Club, MIC or the NMA will even question the elimination. If they don’t motorcycles will be toast in a decade.

I don’t think our Veterans fought for this. They fought for open debate. They fought for men and women to be able to stand up and question the government.

Ride Fast and Free Forever and never give up.

I’ll leave it at that. Let’s hit the news:

Dynojet to Launch Its Power Vision Product for 2021 Harley-Davidson Touring & Softail Models

By General Posts

A world leader in developing and manufacturing performance enhancement products for vehicles is slated to unveil a new product.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Representatives with Dynojet Research, Inc. announced today that it will soon launch its Power Vision product for the 2021 Harley-Davidson.

Dan Hourigan, Vice President of Product Management for Dynojet Research, Inc., explained that the Power Vision for 2021 Harley-Davidson Touring and Softails models (part number PV-3B) is slated to launch around Oct. 1. Dynojet Research, Inc. is the world leader in the manufacturing and development of performance enhancement products and tools. The company’s EFI tuning devices, diagnostic products and personalized services empower customers with the necessary resources to maximize performance and efficiency.

As it relates to its soon-to-launch Power Vision product, Hourigan pointed out that some 2021 Harleys use a new ECU that required ground-up development efforts, while other models are already supported. The models using the new ECU include Touring, Softail, Pan-America, and Sportster S. The Power Vision PV-3B will support Touring and Softail to begin with, and then additional support will follow. The current Power Vision PV-2B already supports the remaining 2021 Harleys like the Sportster and Street 500/750.

“No matter your brand of motorcycle or style of riding, our EFI tuning devices can help optimize power, torque, improved rideability, overall speed and fuel-efficiency,” Hourigan stressed before adding, “With our extensive library of dyno-tested tunes and the ability to flash your ECU at your convenience, you’ll have a tune for any combination of parts on your next adventure. Our Power Vision easily connects to your motorcycle through the OEM diagnostic connector, so installation is a snap. You can then flash your bike and unplug the device, or you can use it as an instrument panel for more information on your fuel efficiency, engine temperatures, air/fuel ratio, and more.”

Hourigan noted that its product was also built to last with a weather and shock-resistant design.

“Our Power Vision for Harley-Davidson even has a unique autotune capability that can monitor specific data from your Harley while you ride and create a specific custom tune suited just for your parts and riding style,” Hourigan said. “Our Power Vision can hold multiple tunes right on the device and flash them without the need of a computer. It also allows you to alter the tune with our exclusive “Quick Tune” feature, which means that you can reflash your ECU changing conditions and fuel quality right from the road. Keep a tune available to suit your needs, from maximizing MPG’s to flatout grudge match power, the flexibility to change tunes is at your fingertips.

Additional features and benefits include:

● Flash performance tunes via OEM diagnostic connector directly to your ECU, no need to remove ECU or add additional electronics

● Display vehicle data channels in real-time, even set alarms

● Weather-resistant for use in all conditions

● Full color touchscreen display

And more.

“It’s not just a flash tuning device, the Power Vision is also a powerful monitoring and diagnostic tool that provides peace of mind while you ride,” Hourigan said. “The data can also be logged and analyzed using our Power Core Software to help you improve your tune. It also has embedded features such as Autotune, Quick Tune, DTC read / clear, and much more to make it the ultimate EFI tool for your Harley.”

SAN Sues to Protect Off-Roading at Oceano Dunes

By General Posts

The fight to protect off-roading at California’s Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) continues! Last month, the California Coastal Commission unanimously voted to abolish OHV access to Oceano Dunes within three years despite fierce opposition from the SEMA Action Network (SAN) and the off-roading community. The decision left the SAN no choice but to file a lawsuit.

The lawsuit asks the court to throw out the Commission’s decision to eliminate OHV access to Oceano Dunes. Since 1974, Oceano Dunes SVRA has been a state-designated OHV park managed and operated by the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The SVRA comprises 3,500 acres of which less than 1,350 acres of dunes and 3.5 miles of beach provide open riding access for OHVs.

Oceano Dunes SVRA provides the only opportunity for motorized recreation at a state park along California’s Pacific coast. OHV recreation is an important contributor to the local economy. While bringing pleasure to thousands of enthusiasts, the money spent at area stores, motels, restaurants, and gas stations support jobs and generate tax revenue.

Thank you again to all who have supported this important fight! Stay tuned for further updates.

Redneck Mafia Has Its Way with a Harley-Davidson FXSTI, This Is the Result

By General Posts

by Daniel Patrascu from https://www.autoevolution.com

For years on end, the Specialty Equipment Market Association event in Las Vegas was the place where all the mechanical and engineering wonders of our time came out to play. On two, three, four or more wheels, vehicles that sometimes take years to build are shown for the first time at the aftermarket show.

The event is generally known as SEMA, and on the floor of the 2018 show, among the countless other incredible builds, was this strangely shaped 2004 Harley-Davidson FXSTI Softail. If one can still call it that.

The bike was on display on the stand of Coker Tires, a Chattanooga-based company in charge of making vintage-style tires based on various famous brands of our age. In charge of reinventing the motorcycle this way was a garage called Redneck Mafia, and the fact that they built it for a tire company show.

Extremely large Coker 600-16 bias ply tires wrap the two wheels of the motorcycle, blending perfectly with the completely reworked, Sunset Bronze Mica body. Metal accents on the fuel tank, wheels and of course the large engine further enhance the bike’s coolness and coldness.

A lot of custom parts went into making the motorcycle what it is. They include, among others, the internal throttle and foot controls, the air breather, exhaust and belly pan, fork legs, suspension and the headlight assembly.

The last time we heard of this motorcycle, known in the industry as the El Rey, was during the Mecum Houston auction about one year ago. Somehow, the bike ended as a display in a dealer’s location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, since then. They are now selling it again, this time not at an auction, but directly. The asking price for the motorcycle is $16,000.

Full details on this Redneck Mafia-remade Harley-Davidson FXSTI can be found at this link.

RK Concepts Makes Futuristic Motorcycles

By General Posts

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension – a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into… the SEMA Zone.

With apologies to fans of The Twilight Zone, we couldn't help but recite those iconic opening lines when we happened upon these RK Concepts custom motorcycles here at the SEMA Show. The fact that these crazy two- and three-wheeled machines sit in a prominent position right outside the main auditorium certainly doesn't hurt the impression they make on showgoers.
