Royal Enfield eager to enter used motorcycle business

* Royal Enfield is likely to enter the used-bike segment * The company has got Trademark for “Reown” brand * They could sell used ones from current dealerships Royal Enfield is likely to enter used bike business officially. The company has applied for a new trademark and received permission to own and use ‘Reown’. This trademark clearly mentions that Royal Enfield wants to enter the pre-owned bike business. Currently, only a handful of motorcycle brands are in the used bike business. Through this route, brands can offer motorcycles in better condition, but the prices are usually higher than in the unorganised used bike industry. Renown brand will enable them to offer motorcycles bought from their dealers or used motorcycles from an exchange program. Details are scarce. Thee iconic company would probably have rules & checklists for every used bike to assure quality to the customer before re-sale. The surprising news is there’s a high chance all these used bikes will be sold through their existing dealer network. While this provides a great many outlets immediately, its a strange move by a company that has the biggest market share for middle-weight motorcycle segment. After all, if a customer walks in and can buy affordable used company-quality-assured motorcycle, then they may not splurge on a top-end brand new model offering of Royal Enfield. These motorcycles are a premium segment bike in India’s economy and the middle-class majority may not want the burden of loans if they can outright buy used older model Enfield. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Get There Faster, Click & Get the Bikernet.com Free Weekly Newsletter

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Review

by Jason Marker from https://www.rideapart.com/ 2023 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Review $3,999 for a good-looking, thoroughly modern motorcycle with ABS, fuel injection, and a bulletproof engine is a steal no matter how you slice it. My toxic trait—or, well, one of the many at any rate—is that when I buy a product I expect a level of quality in that product commensurate with its price. As you can imagine, in this day and age I spend a lot of my time disappointed. What if I told you, however, that I recently rode a bike with one of the best cost-to-value ratios I think I’ve ever ridden? In fact, probably one of the best cost-to-value ratios on the market today. What if I then told you that it was a Royal Enfield—specifically Enfield’s new Hunter 350? Well, I did and it was and I’m here to tell you all about it. Read the full review for 2023 model of Hunter 350 by clicking here.

Financial Weightage of Light-Weight Motorcycles

Volume Sales, Fuel-efficiency, On-road manoeuvrability A decade ago, almost all manufacturers released fairly uninspired, derivative lightweight motorcycles that fit the commuter model, and sold like hot cakes irrespective of lacking common features in American bikes. Not to mention they were fugly like Satan’s spawn. They would make the mid-weight class look like a run-of-the-mill hack job, with the primary focus on cutting costs wherever possible. Thankfully, Royal Enfield changed all of that and stepped up its game with each new model release. First Royal Enfield Electric Prototype

with inputs by Enrico Punsalang from https://www.rideapart.com First Royal Enfield Electric Prototype Expected To Break Cover In 2023 The manufacturer is set to build a new factory where electric motorcycles will eventually be produced. The words “electric” and “retro” don’t usually belong in the same sentence, especially when it comes to motorcycles. However, Royal Enfield, who previously announced that it was developing its very first electric motorcycle may be nearing a working prototype. Electric motorcycles will never be able to exude the same charm and riding sensation as that of a thumpy single-cylinder, or a burly parallel-twin, but it can make up for this when it comes to styling, and ultimately, fit and finish. That is of course the specialty of Royal Enfield, distinguishing it from all the ‘modern’ motorcycles. Plus, Enfield’s cost a fraction of the price and establishes your own unique presence on the road. Little is known about the specifics of Royal Enfield’s upcoming EV adventure. Enfield is reportedly gearing up to ramp up its production. Specifically, the company has recently acquired a new 60-acre parcel of land in Cheyyar near Chennai, where a new, cutting-edge production facility is set to be constructed. There are reports from multiple Indian motoring publications which suggest that Enfield’s first EV will eventually be manufactured in this hi-tech facility. Endield EV is undergoing development in its exisitng Vallam Vadagal plant with a dedicated production line set up precisely for RE’s EV range of bikes. Maybe another facility may come up through Stark Motor, a Spanish EV firm Royal Enfield recently acquired. Stark’s technology could play a major role in the development of Royal Enfield’s upcoming EV line. Also, its no secret about Royal Enfield being in no rush to produce its electric vehicle range. The company has emphasized it wants “to

Bajaj-Triumph Frankenstein Baby

Triumph decided to counter Royal Enfield’s might in the sub-750cc segment by attacking its homebase. They decided to tie-up with Bajaj who have successfully launched KTM and Husqvarna bikes in India. However, the last time Bajaj challenged Enfield’s cruiser segment by ridiculing Enfields as ancient clumsy elephants, they failed miserably and the viewers were disappointed with the dismal method of launching the new Bajaj long-distance bike called ‘Dominar’. Since then, the Dominar brand of Bajaj is the black sheep in the family which no one talks about and no one really wants to buy. It would be a big surprise if these two new proposed Frankenstein babies of Triumph and Bajaj can dent anything in Enfield ‘s lineup. It is forever expected to be launched ‘soon’. It missed its deadline to be showcased at EICMA where Royal Enfield shined again as a sole saviour of two-wheeled automotive segment from India. Most likely, the Bajaj-Triumph franchise / partnership will just grab the market-share away from Honda 350 and Jawa 290. Honda 350 is available at only a handful of Big Wing Dealerships. Jawa 290 has poor customer experiences for their authorised service centers. Worse still, it will dilute the great brand image that Triumph motorcycles already enjoys in India with decent sales of their models YoY. Hell, they are bigger than Polaris and surely more popular than Honda or Kawasaki with Triumph’s range of models, including classic retro styling, adventure-tourer, racing finesse, off-road ready models and more. Will there be a Royal Enfield Sherpa 650 ?

with inputs by Pratik Bhanushali from https://www.msn.com Speculated to be to be powered by the same engine as the current 650s gets spoked wheel could borrow the bodywork from the Interceptor 650 Royal Enfield may offer yet another new model called Sherpa 650. It is getting crowded at Enfield product listing with motorcycles aimed at different types of riders. This is such a big leap from just 10 to 15 years ago. The brand and the company keeps on growing and improving and challenging itself as well as its target audience. A test mule seen in the spy shots here gives a better look at the probable production model. The specifications may be very similar to 650cc trio from Royal Enfield — namely Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Super Meteor 650) Sherpa 650 looks similar to the Interceptor’s unit but has suspended on USD front forks and dual rear shocks. It seems it would get off-road ready tires. Rumors suggest that Royal Enfield would likely launch the new Sherpa 650 in 2024. It’ll be positioned above the Interceptor and below the new Super Meteor in RE’s lineup.
