Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative to Ensure Access to Public Lands for Outdoor Recreation

from https://menafn.com Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative and Recreate Responsibly Coalition Partner to Ensure Access to Public Lands for Outdoor Recreation. VISIT THE WEBSITE https://yamahaoai.com/ Yamaha Motor Corp., USA , today announces the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI) and the Recreate Responsibly Coalition (RRC) established a strategic partnership to spread awareness of the need for land stewardship among all types of visitors to public lands. By promoting responsible recreation practices and the safe and sustainable use of trails, the partnership works to further the aligned missions of both organizations. A priority for the collaboration is to increase awareness of the availability of funding and support for public land access projects through the Yamaha OAI. As the Powersports industry’s leading land-access program, the Yamaha OAI remains an essential resource to grassroots efforts of riding clubs, land stewardship organizations, and public land managers across the country. The pandemic made getting outdoors a priority for more people than ever before, putting pressure on the maintenance of public land to ensure everyone’s safety. Without action, public lands can become unsustainable, and access limited. The Yamaha OAI and Recreate Responsibly believe everyone has a responsibility to sustain the outdoor spaces we enjoy and can contribute by understanding their potential impacts in natural spaces and surrounding communities. “Public lands are America’s gateway to fun and adventure in the great outdoors. Visitors play an important role in their protection and preservation. Recreate Responsibly and the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative are working together to educate and raise awareness of responsible use of trails and open spaces for motorized and outdoor recreation,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s Motorsports marketing manager.“The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative was created specifically to help those who see the need to protect or expand access to public land and need some support to get it done. The 27th Annual Miracle Ride for Riley Hospital

by Chris Mahlmann, Lauren Grasham from https://valpo.life Harley Davidson of Valparaiso takes part in the 27th annual Miracle Ride for Riley Hospital for Children. The ride was a two day, state-wide event to raise funds for Riley. Registration began early Saturday morning before riders took off to enjoy a fabulous summer ride from across the state. Valparaiso was one of the six starting points throughout the state, with the finish line for everyone being Indianapolis. The second day of the event included The Big Ride in which all participants rode around the city. While the Ride itself started in 1994, the event was a first for the Valparaiso location. In past years, Harley-Davidson of Calumet served as Northwest Indiana’s starting point, but since its closing its doors in 2020, Valparaiso Harley-Davidson has stepped in to host. Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso was also deemed a Poker Start, which allowed riders to participate in a poker run. In a poker run, riders played a game of five card stud against other winners for a chance to win $500. In addition, raffles were held and included a 2020 Low Rider as the grand prize. Two UBCO electric motorcycles were also raffled for most money raised and runner-up for most money raised. The Ride was one of many events held by the Miracle Ride Foundation, all of which benefit Riley Hospital for Children. The hospital is the only one in Indiana dedicated specifically to helping sick children. According to the foundation’s website, many services the hospital provides go beyond the allotted budget, and as a result, the hospital receives most of its funds through donations and charity events such as the Ride. “The Harley-Davidson community comes together to help so many great organizations,” Jeff Haggerty, general manager of Harley-Davidson Valparaiso. “Giving our customers a chance

Thompson said he built his first Harley in high school and he said having that passion steered him in the right direction. “It kept me out the loop of getting in trouble, me finding my passion for building and designing bikes,” Thompson said. Thompson also deeply cares about his Compton community and the youth. When he’s not building bikes, he’s organizing community clean-ups. He said he knows a lot of young people are into tennis shoes and hopes his work will spark some interest in the younger generation. “It’s important because a lot of youngsters they become gang members,” said Ms. Showtime, a local motorcycle rider and long-time friend of Thompson. “A lot of the youngsters have laid down their guns and bought a motorcycle. They have seen motorcycles, but they never seen like a Nike motorcycle.” “White beautiful Jordan bike, I mean with the stats on the floorboard, that was just beautiful,” said Nick “Big Slick” Naish, general sales manager of California Harley Davidson. “I was blown away. I’ve never seen anything like that and we’re around custom bikes every day and I’ve never seen anything like that.” Thompson said his grandfather John McCollum, also known as PeeWee, was recognized as one of Harley Davidson’s Iron Elite, which recognizes the contributions of the Black motorcycle community. Johnny Lewis with Royal Enfield at American Flat Track championship

Johnny Lewis Scores Top-Five At Peoria TT. The 74th Peoria TT marks a first for Royal Enfield at the legendary venue. The 74th Peoria TT, round 11 of the 2021 American Flat Track championship, marked a first for Royal Enfield—the first time the 120-year-old brand has ever fielded a factory racing effort at the historic PMC Race Park in Peoria, Illinois. It was another show of consistency and determination from Johnny Lewis and the Moto Anatomy X team aboard the rapidly progressing Royal Enfield Twins FT race bike, as Lewis brought home another top-five finish in the Production Twins class. Peoria marked the second TT race for the Lewis and the Twins FT, and the two seem to be finding their groove together, both on the dirt and in the air. Lewis ran well all day, placing second in the semi, giving him a front-row start for the main. Following a few hours of rain delays, the main event got underway, and Lewis ran third in the opening laps of the race, ultimately hanging on to claim fifth on the night. The finish marked Lewis’ fifth top-five finish in the highly competitive Production Twins class, including a win at the Lima Half-Mile. “This was our first time at the legendary Peoria TT as a team,” commented Breeann Poland, Marketing and Communications Lead – Royal Enfield Americas. “Both Johnny and Crew Chief Dave Lloyd had been there in the past so they were equipped to know what we were up against. Johnny rode solid all day to bring home a fifth. We continue to develop the program and each time out we learn more and see more progress with the program.” Johnny Lewis and the Moto Anatomy X Royal Enfield team will be back in action at the Charlotte Motor Speedway

Seventh Annual Riding for Warriors event supporting Veterans

by Daniel Hamburg from https://www.abc27.com Motorcycle riders raising money for wounded veterans make stop in Gettysburg. It’s the seventh annual Riding for Warriors event. The group surpassed its initial goal, raising more than $73,000 to help veterans and their families. SEE EVENT AT https://support.hopeforthewarriors.org/event/7th-annual-riding-for-warriors/e319457 The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is three weeks away. To honor those who’ve served, a group of motorcycle riders are making their way from New York City to Washington, D.C. and back. The first stop Saturday night was at Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg. The first 200 miles of their trip is complete, all to benefit Hope for the Warriors, specifically the Warrior’s Wish program, funding requests from wounded veterans. “It could be as simple as specialty workout gear, bicycle. It could be something like woodworking equipment,” Michael Nehlsen, organizer of Riding for Warriors said. It’s Nehlsen’s seventh year helping fund those wishes. “This year, unlike other years, I’ve actually invited some of my friends, colleagues and other veterans to ride with me,” Nehlsen said. While planning this year’s first stop, he met Sandy Sipe, whose son Lance Corporal Jamie Sipe of Camp Hill died in 2017. “He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Gulf War era who honorably served five years from 18 until he turned 23 years old,” Nehlsen said. His family was recognized by the organization, including seven-year-old son Austin, who was gifted a motorized bike and money for a trust account. “We will never forget this and moving forward we will pay it forward to others and I think it’s something great for our family to feel that someone else is honoring our, my son,” Sipe said. Honoring those who served and pledging to help veterans in need, Nehlsen says it’s everyone’s duty to give back. “We’ve made promises to our

But they are much more than just a toy manufacturer. The company has collaborated with American electric bicycle maker Super73 to build a real-life model based on the flagship Super73-RX. The unique paint scheme is complemented by the panels dipped in black which lends it a sporty appeal. Foam on the handlebar and custom embroidered seat sourced from Saddlemen also scream of the Hot Wheels brand. The headlight gets a tint of yellow while the special medals have been made by Crankbrothers. To keep consistency with the all-black theme of the bike, the makers have blacked out the battery tank pads, chain and the large stainless steel panel situated in the middle of the frame. The electric bicycle rides on wire-spoked wheels with bronze rims shod by knobby tyres block patterns so that it could perform mild off-roading. Indiana Jones Motorcycle Guy Hilariously Recalls Major ‘Distraction’ On Set

by Adreon Patterson from https://www.cinemablend.com Motorcycles and Indiana Jones have been synonymous with each other since Raiders of the Lost Ark. Of course, seeing Harrison Ford riding motorbikes in ancient ruins left an impression on moviegoers. One of those moviegoers was Hollywood’s go-to motorcycle guy Justin Kell. He loved being on set and seeing Ford in full Indy mode, but there was one recurring hilarious moment. Kell recalled a major distraction while working on the set of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Taking part in an Indiana Jones film would be any fan’s dream. And Justin Kell got to witness so many things while working on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Of course, motorcycles are a huge part of the Indy legacy. So, it only made sense for Kell to be part of the production. The motorcycle expert gave a peek into what working on the Indiana Jones sequel was like. “One of the distractions I had to deal with was Steven Spielberg’s DP, who was a rider, and every once in awhile would snag one of the bikes when I wasn’t looking. I would be with my guys, hear one of them fire up, and watch as he drove by us with the middle finger raised. [Laughs.] Of course, all of that was clearly worth it, especially when I first got to set to see Spielberg behind the camera and Harrison Ford walked out in that Indy costume. Not to mention I got to ride a Harley through the library at Yale College, a scene a lot of people remember. That was one of those experiences you can’t buy.” For anyone who grew up on the Indiana Jones films, seeing Harrison Ford in full Indy garb would be any fan’s goal.
