Journey of Discovery / Tucker Films

There are few better ways to kick-off a new partnership than by riding motorcycles together. The open road brings those that ride together closer together through ritualistic moments of shared experience on the journey along the way. Emails get ignored, phones muted, camaraderie ensues, and the mind begins to relax as you start to live more in the moment. So, to kick off a new partnership with META, they went on a motorcycle road trip together from Denver to Sturgis and back. Here’s some of their journey. Direct Link to Video:

Motorcycle Makers Are Getting Hip to Women-Only Rallies

Anxious to find new audiences after a decade of declining sales, the giants like Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorrad are finally taking notice of a self-made community. On Valentine’s Day, Sharry Billings posted a photograph on Instagram. Below the image of herself, her hair a red caramel and her smile open, she wrote: “I love you so much I wanna squeeze you!” The object of her affection? “All the motorcycles I have owned and will own in the future,” she explained. Alongside the photo of her astride a Harley-Davidson, she wrote that bikes “have changed my life, healed my soul, and brought me more love and friendships than I could have ever imagined.” Billings goes by @sistermother13 on Instagram, but the main account she oversees is @thelitaslosangeles. The Litas is a group she joined three years ago as a way to connect with other women riders in her city. She’s co-led the L.A. branch for two years. When she joined, it provided her with much-needed healing and camaraderie after her kids grew up and she got divorced. Billings had ridden as a teenager and into her 20s but took a hiatus later. “It was always in my heart,” she says. But when she was married with young children, “I thought it was a little too dangerous.” After the breakup in 2015, she found herself longing for escape. And adventure. “My prayer at the time was, ‘God, I don’t want to date.’ These men are not happening,” Billings says, laughing. “The first thing that came to my heart was the motorcycle I wanted. It was a Harley.” She bought the bike, took the ride. Then she joined the Litas. “I’m very grateful to have found my heart again,” Billings says. Founded in Utah by Jessica Haggett half a decade ago, the Litas

Ride To Work Day 2020 Artwork

The recent 2019 Ride To Work Day was one of the most successful ever, with more than triple the number of motorcycles and scooters out on the roadways in support of the benefits of everyday riding. Building on that success and excitement, we are pleased to announce that the 29th annual Ride To Work Day will take place on Monday, June 15th, 2019. With your help and support, Ride To Work Day 2020 will further elevate the awareness about riding a motorcycle or scooter for everyday travel and transportation as a social good, making the world a better place! The Ride To Work website has been updated with new artwork, ads, and posters that can be downloaded, shared, forwarded, and printed to raise even more awareness and encourage even more riders to commute by scooter or cycle on this day. In addition to grass roots efforts to educate others about the benefits of riding, motorcyclists may also seek employer recognition and support for this form of transportation, and increased public and government awareness of the societally positive benefits of utility riding. Adding motorcycles and scooters helps traffic flow better, according to Ride To Work, a non-profit advocacy organization. Studies have also shown that across the same distances, riders reach their destinations up to 20% faster than those using automobiles. Most motorcycles and scooters also consume less resources per mile than automobiles. “Riding to work on this day is fun and highlights the value of motorcycling. Riding is a form of personal mobility that saves energy, helps the environment, and provides a broad range of personal and public benefits,” stated Andy Goldfine, this year’s event organizer. Visit the updated Ride To Work website for all of the latest information and artwork, including: Downloadable 2020 Ride To Work Day ads, posters, and
