SEMA Members Gather in Support of RPM Act at Washington Rally

SEMA Members Gather in Support of RPM Act at Washington Rally to Save Our Racecars! More than 100 SEMA members descended on the nation’s capital to participate in SEMA’s 2022 Washington Rally on Thursday, September 22. Industry leaders took to the halls of Congress to remind lawmakers of the cultural and economic importance of the automotive specialty-equipment industry and motorsports. During the event, SEMA members urged Congress to pass H.R. 3281/S.2736, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act. The bipartisan bill would protect Americans’ right to modify street vehicles into dedicated racecars and the industry’s right to sell the parts that enable racers to compete. The RPM Act currently has 132 co-sponsors in the House and 33 co-sponsors in the Senate, and the number continues to grow. Members also raised awareness for other issues facing the industry, including the REPAIR Act, harmful tariffs and zero-emissions vehicle mandates. This year’s event marks the 16th time representatives from SEMA have held a fly-in on Capitol Hill. The event raises SEMA’s profile in Washington, D.C., and plays a pivotal role in the association’s advocacy efforts in Congress. SEMA members who couldn’t make it to the Rally can get involved by hosting their local lawmakers at their business. To learn more, please contact Eric Snyder at erics@sema.org. From the streets – 2022 Sturgis Rally Report

by Bandit with photos from the Redhead and Wrench This is going to be good, like the party of parties. I’ll stay between the white lines as I attempt to cover the rally and my first wild experience after relocating to the Black Hills and available for action every day. Constant hum of action prevailed daily, with the rumble of V-twins, non-stop shows, concerts, celebrations, parties and jamming bars are just the tip of the chromed mountain leading up to the rally. Last year, my shop wasn’t complete, and I was attacked by the deadly Covid virus. I found myself locked down in my basement dungeon. Only semi-prepared this year, the rally kept coming like it or not. Making Art While You’re High at It

Text and Photos by Jeff Najar. I sent some tins to Atomic Bob in Ohio to do some of his magic. You might be familiar with Mr. Atomic. He’s become part of the 5-Ball Racing Team by Bandit. His company is Atomic Dice. With Atomic Bob, you never know what you will get back, but you do know it will be cool and you do know it will be out of the box. Mr. Atomic always pulls it off. Each letter is unique but they also flow together. And their size fills the space on the sides of the tank. Modern-Day Incarnation of Lincoln Cosmo Carrera Panamericana

Delightful tribute Rally Car showcases masterful rally mods This Cosmopolitan is a modern-day recreation, made to race in the late 1990s and now boasting a significant number of accolades. Editor’s Note: Plus this stinkin’ Lincoln is directly connected to Bikernet.com and 5-Ball Racing. This car brings back memories. I was a crew member/co-captain with its new owner Dr. Christian Reichardt or Doctor Hamster to you in 2005. It was originally raced in the ‘70s and the body was modified in the ‘90s. We worked on the classic mechanically and prepared the car for the 2005 La Carrera Pan Americana road race in the vintage class. We brought a 2nd Place trophy home. — Bandit CLICK HERE to get Bandit’s insight into this unique Carrera Panamericana.
