After all, Harley itself made it incredibly easy for custom shops to make a living off their products – if anything, the Milwaukee based bike maker is the most tuner-friendly industry giant there is. Over the past few months we’ve talked aplenty about Harley and the aftermarket world it is so much a part of. We’ve had the King of Kings competition dedicated to international Harley dealers back in May, then the health-crisis inspired The No Show dedicated to minor custom builders in the U.S., and of course our extensive coverage of the custom Harley movement in Europe. But there are shops living off the American two-wheelers in other parts of the world as well. India, for instance, is one of the bike maker’s major markets, and there’s even a local factory catering to the needs of the Asian Indian customers. One of the most visible Indian garages in the country is Rajputana. We’ve only recently started talking about their Harleys, and we’ll probably not keep it up for long. These guys seem to like Royal Enfields more, as in there are only a handful of Harleys in their portfolio. All are incredible unique though to deserve a place under the spotlight – we’ve already talked a bit about the modified Street 750 and the Forty-Eight these guys are responsible for. JARED MEES GOES 1-2 at Springfield Mile Doubleheader to REGAIN FIRST PLACE FOR INDIAN MOTORCYCLE RACING Indian Motorcycle Privateer Sammy Halbert Secures First Win Aboard FTR750; Wrecking Crew Rider Jared Mees Continues Perfect Podium Streak SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (September 9, 2020) – Indian Motorcycle Racing, presented by Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, and its championship-winning FTR750 race bike completed a perfect sweep at the Springfield Mile doubleheader. While Indian Motorcycle Privateer Sammy Halbert secured his first win aboard the FTR750, Wrecking Crew Rider Jared Mees captured his third win of the season and continued his perfect podium streak. At Springfield Mile I, Halbert and Mees battled early in the Main, but Halbert was too fast and captured the win with nearly a two-second lead. Reigning Grand National Champion Briar Bauman Records Career Grand Slam at Indy Mile I; Indian Motorcycle Racing Sweeps Top Five at Indy Mile I, Goes 1-2 at Indy Mile II INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 24, 2020) – Indian Motorcycle Racing, presented by Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, continued its 2020 American Flat Track (AFT) season with back-to-back wins at the Indy Mile doubleheader. Reigning Grand National Champion Briar Bauman swept the weekend to claim a three-point lead over Wrecking Crew teammate Jared Mees. Bauman’s win on Friday night not only marked his first of the 2020 season, but also marked his first career Mile win – earning him a career grand slam. Indian Motorcycles Now Have Apple CarPlay, Command System Gets Upgraded

It is very hard today to find a car that doesn’t come with at least one built-in such system. In the case of motorcycles though, things are a bit more complicated. It is only now, years after the first smartphone was successfully integrated with a car, that motorcycle makers are including such amenities on their products. Harley-Davidson, for instance, only recently announced the availability of Android Auto to its 2021 bikes, a tad later after providing CarPlay support for its two-wheelers. In a bid to keep being relevent in this respect, one of Harley’s biggest rivals, Indian, announced this week it too would include Apple’s solution on some of its models starting this year. More specifically, the 2020 Chieftain, Roadmaster and Challenger models will get the system, but only when fitted with the 7-inch Ride Command system with navigation. As usual, CarPlay would allow access to features such as Apple Music, Maps, or Siri directly from the integrated screen. Together with this announcement the bike maker also said the Ride Command is getting upgraded a bit, with the integration of improved navigation location management, improved boot time, audio muting and control improvements. Also, widget fixes, a new fuel economy widget, and improved search functionality within navigation have also been included in the update. “Continuing its mission to further enhance the riding experience, this latest update continues to deliver industry-leading technology which provides riders with a way to stay connected while out on the road,” the bike maker said in a statement. “This integration also increases global accessibility to navigation.” For now, Indian did not ay whether the introduction of CarPlay would translate into an increased

All-electric Indian FTR 1200 might be called EFTR

However, after the demise of the Victory in 2017, the Empulse saw the path to the graveyard too. As of now, it is not clear if the company would exploit the same platform as the Empulse for the EFTR. Yes, you read that absolutely right! Indian Motorcycle might be working on an all-electric version of its street tracker FTR 1200. The company has recently filed a trademark for the name ‘EFTR’ that suggests an electric motorcycle could well be under development. The trademark application doesn’t spill much information about the ‘silent’ FTR, however, it does mention ‘Electric motorcycles and structural parts.’ The FTR 1200 is a brawny and handsome looking motorcycle and hence, the EFTR is expected to follow the same philosophy as well. At present, it would be too early to comment on the specifications and performance of the upcoming Indian EFTR. Nonetheless, you can expect the bike to come with some mind-boggling numbers including astonishing acceleration time and a decent top speed too. Moreover, the bike should come with a fast-charging feature as well to offer better convenience to the buyers. In terms of features, one can expect bits like coloured TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity along with multiple riding modes, dual-channel ABS and more. The Indian EFTR can be seen as a potential rival to the likes of the Harley-Davidson LiveWire.
